As a distributed energy storage system, smart home energy (SHE) system can be used to reduce the consumption cost of household users. Aiming at the optimal control SHE systems, a novel multi-iteration adaptive dynamic programming (MIADP) method is constructed. The present algorithm introduces three iterations, namely, exterior iteration, local iteration and interior iteration, to ensure that the iterative Q-function converges to the optimal, and thus the optimal energy storage control scheme of the SHE system with solar energy is obtained. Finally, the present MIADP algorithm is illustrated by the experimental results.

Global Navigation Satellite systems (GNSS) can provide real-time positioning information for outdoor users, but cannot for indoor scenarios or heavily occluded outdoor scenarios. Strap-down Inertial Navigation System (SINS) are widely used to locate people in complex interior or heavily occluded outdoor scenarios due to its light weight and low power consumption. However, IMU of SINS are noisy, and the sampling data error is large, which is a divergence of the error with time. Therefore, it will generate a positioning accumulation error, which affects the final positioning accuracy. The problem of cumulative IMU errors is usually dealt with by Zero-Velocity Update (ZUPT). The zero-velocity detection part of basic ZUPT method usually uses a single threshold to determine the gait of pedestrian, which often has the problem of gait misjudgment and omission. To address these problems, this paper proposes a composite conditional detection method to solve the problem of misjudgment in the zero-velocity interval. In addition, we redesign the zero-velocity update algorithm and uses the Cubature Kalman filter (CKF) for pedestrian positioning error correction. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed ZUPT method based on dual-threshold detection can better detect the interval between pedestrian motion and stationery than ones with single threshold. The zero-velocity update algorithm based on CKF has higher performance than conventional EKF and UKF methods, which constrains the cumulative error of SINS to about 0.2% of the whole walking distance.

Real-time environmental monitoring using a multi-agent system (MAS) has long been a focal point of cooperative control. It is still a challenging task to provide cost-effective services for potential emergencies in surface environments. This paper explores the transformation of a general surface into a two-dimensional (2D) disk through the construction of a conformal mapping. Multiple agents are strategically deployed within the mapped convex disk, followed by mapping back to the original surface environment. This approach circumvents the complexities associated with handling the difficulties and intricacies of path planning. Technical analysis encompasses the design of distributed control laws and the method to eliminate distortions introduced by the mapping. Moreover, the developed coverage algorithm is applied to a scenario of monitoring surface deformation. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is validated through numerical simulations. Ethiopian Airlines' Boeing 737-8 MAX nosedived and crashed shortly after takeoff on March 10,2019,at Ejere Town,south of Addis Ababa.A faulty angle of attack(AOA) sensor was the cause of the *** airplane accidents have been linked to faulty AOA sensors in the *** majority of the AOA sensor fault detection,isolation,and accommodation(SFDIA) literature relied on linear model-driven techniques,which are not suitable when the system's model is uncertain,complex,or *** multilayer perceptron(MLP) models have been employed in datadriven models in the literature and the effectiveness of deep learning-based data-driven models has not been *** this work,a data collection and processing method that ensures the collected data is not monotonous and a data-driven model for AOA SFDIA is *** proposed model uses a deep learning-based recurrent neural network(RNN) to accommodate for faulty AOA measurement under flight conditions with faulty AOA measurement,faulty total velocity measurement,and faulty pitch rate *** residual analysis with a fixed threshold is used to detect and isolate faulty AOA *** proposed and benchmark models are trained with the adaptive momentum estimation(Adam) *** show that the proposed model effectively detects,isolates,and accommodates faulty AOA measurements when compared to other data-driven benchmark *** method is able to detect and isolate faulty AOA sensors with a detection delay of 0.5 seconds for ramp failure and 0.1 seconds for step failure.

Metamaterials can satisfy the demand for lightweight and multifunctional structures. In this study, we propose a double hollow-square-frustum-core sandwich meta-structure (meta-DHSFCSS) for vibration isolation. The out-of-plane compressive performance of the sandwich meta-structure specimen is experimentally and numerically studied. The bandgap in the band structure for out-of-plane vibration of the meta-DHSFCSS is numerically computed and verified by the frequency-domain and time-domain responses and vibration test. Parameter study is performed on the meta-DHSFCSS to investigate the effects on the structural compressive performance and vibration isolation property. The maximum load-mass ratio exceeds 283 N/g and the maximum SEA reaches 2000 kJ/kg. These two indexes are dramatically better than those of certain previous studies. The meta-DHSFCSS has a wide bandgap for vibration isolation. Gradient design and waveguide design are introduced to the meta-DHSFCSS supercell. Its vibration isolation property is improved. The locational and directional transmission of the elastic wave can be achieved by the rainbow trapping effect of gradient meta-DHSFCSS and the waveguides with different transmission routes. These demonstrate the great application of the meta-DHSFCSS in elastic wave manipulation. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Geo-hazards have become one of the main disasters endangering the safety of people's lives and property in the *** order to improve the early warning of disasters, a persistent monitoring method of multi-agent systems is proposed in this *** ensure that the agent's energy is never exhausted, the set invariance constraint is included in the optimization problem. The goal is to minimize the difference between the actual control input of the robot and the nominal control input corresponding to the task to be performed. Moreover, the control barrier function(CBF) is used to transform the forward invariance of a subset of the robot state space into a control input constraint. The coverage control method in an uncertain environment is verified by numerical simulation. This work provides new insights into effective monitoring and early warning of geo-hazards.

Rehabilitation robots for stroke patients have drawn considerable attention because they can reduce the economic and labor costs brought by traditional rehabilitation. control methods for rehabilitation robots have been developed to stimulate the active motion of patients and to improve the effectiveness of rehabilitation care. However, current control methods can only roughly adjust the system’s stiffness and may fail in achieving satisfactory performance. To this end, this paper introduces a novel cost function consisting of the tracking error term and the stiffness term. The cost function contains an interaction factor that represents the patient’s motion intention to balance the weight of these two terms. When the patients try to actively do training tasks, the weight of stiffness term increases, which leads to the larger allowable tracking error and lower stiffness eventually. An iterative updating law of the stiffness matrix is given to reduce the proposed cost function. Theoretical analysis based on the Lyapunov theory is given to ensure the feasibility of the proposed algorithm. Furthermore, a force estimation is used to improve interaction control performance. Finally, simulation experiments are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Many megacities, such as London, New York, Paris, Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai, have been born due to urban- ization. While citizens enjoy the convenience of city life, such cities suffer from drawbacks of transportation: the average commute time has been increasing over the past years. With the maturity of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft technology, decision-makers have started to look upward to the low-altitude airspace. This blue space has the potential to reshape the transportation system and shorten the average travel time in daily life. To explore this emerging area, we held a Distributed/Decentralized Hybrid Workshop on Sustain- ability for Transportation and Logistics (DHW-STL), and this letter summarizes the outcomes of our discussion. Here, we first pinpoint the pain issues of conventional transportation. Then, we present the emerging low-altitude airspace transportation option, followed by a discussion on how such a new transportation option can integrate with the conventional ground-based transportation system. Some thoughts about the pathway to further development of the integrated transportation system are shared finally.

Intelligent logistics with autonomous vehicles is promising to improve the efficiency of rapidly expanding delivery systems. However, complex environments, diverse packages, and irregular human interaction have imposed challenges to the application of unmanned delivery vehicles. Combining various forms of vehicles and developing knowledge-driven delivery services have been the key to further facilitating the upgrading of logistics systems. In this paper, we propose an integrated framework named LogisticsVISTA (Logistics on Vehicles with Intelligent systems for Transport Automation) comprised of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles), and USVs (Unmanned Surface Vehicles) to provide timely and flexible 3D delivery services. In LogisticsVISTA, we design Large language models (LLMs) and large multimodal models (LMMs) for task planning, active perception, autonomous decision, and human-machine interaction. Besides, virtual-real integrated parallel scenarios are constructed to provide the playing ground for embodied agents efficiently and flexibly.
