Soft manipulator has the advantages of high degree of freedom, strong adaptability, high safety, good man-machine interaction ability, and has a wide range of application prospects in the medical field. In the treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, acupoint therapy can effectively treat diseases and avoid the side effects of drug therapy. Acupoint therapy can be used to treat the sequelae of the elderly in the post-COVID-19 era. Inspired by this, this paper designs and produces an intelligent soft manipulator. Such manipulator can realize the function of acupoint physiotherapy for part of human body through the pressure drive, and realize the real-time feedback function through the sensor to feedback the pressure signal to the upper position machine. Such manipulator provides a feasible treatment method for the sequelae of COVID-19 through physical therapy. © 2023 IEEE.

Dynamic facial expression recognition (DFER) in the wild has received widespread attention recently. There are complex factors such as face occlusion and pose variation in the wild. Facial expression recognition has a subtle competition between capturing local features of a human face and obtaining a global feature representation. This paper proposes an end-to-end DFER network GAT-Net based on the grid attention module and Transformer, which improves the robustness and accuracy of DFER in the wild. Specifically, GAT-Net is divided into two components: spatial feature extraction and temporal feature processing. The grid attention module of the spatial feature extraction component guides the network to pay attention to the local salient features of the face, which reduces the interference of field occlusion and non-frontal poses. The Transformer in the temporal feature processing component guides the network to learn the temporal relationship of high-level semantic features and the global representation of facial expression features. These two components balance the subtle competition between local features and global feature representations of facial expressions. The ablation experiment has proved the effectiveness of the grid attention module and Transformer. Experiments demonstrate that our GAT-Net outperforms state-of-the-art methods on DFEW and AFEW benchmarks with accuracies of 67.53%, and 50.14% respectively.

—The precise characterization and modeling of Cyber-Physical-Social systems (CPSS) requires more comprehensive and accurate data, which imposes heightened demands on intelligent sensing capabilities. To address this issue, Crowdsensing Intelligence (CSI) has been proposed to collect data from CPSS by harnessing the collective intelligence of a diverse workforce. Our first and second Distributed/Decentralized Hybrid Workshop on Crowdsensing Intelligence (DHW-CSI) have focused on principles and high-level processes of organizing and operating CSI, as well as the participants, methods, and stages involved in CSI. This letter reports the outcomes of the latest DHW-CSI, focusing on Autonomous Crowdsensing (ACS) enabled by a range of technologies such as decentralized autonomous organizations and operations, large language models, and human-oriented operating systems. Specifically, we explain what ACS is and explore its distinctive features in comparison to traditional crowdsensing. A Hybrid Algorithm Introducing Cross Mutation and Non-linear Learning Factor for Optimal Allocation of DGs and Minimizing Annual Network Loss in the Distribution Network

Distributed generators (DGs) are recognized as an effective method for controlling the power loss, voltage stability, etc.. In this paper, a novel hybrid algorithm of beetle antennae search (BAS) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) is presented for optimal allocation of DGs in radial distribution network. The BAS describes the beetle’s individual search by smell, PSO describes the group search of birds by location. The proposed algorithm combines their advantages, proceeds with individual optimization while conducting group optimization. Therefore, the proposed algorithm searches widely, and converges fast. In this paper, a series of improvement measures are proposed to deal with the shortcoming of PSO-BAS which is easy to fall into local optimum. These methods include equal interval initialization, cross mutation, and non-linear learning factor. This paper will show the comparison results of PSO-BAS and IPSO-BAS in the six confessed test functions to prove the necessity of the improved methods. Simultaneously, in order to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of this proposed algorithm in terms of practical application, it is tested on the standard IEEE 33-bus, IEEE 69-bus and IEEE 119-bus systems. The results of active power loss and voltage stability show that proposed algorithm is more effective and more suitable for the power distribution system than other algorithms. At the same time, this article also explores the impact of new energy sources on the annual network loss. Besides, a method for optimizing the annual network loss is proposed. Here, the IPSO-BAS algorithm is used to adjust the size of multiple biomass energy sources within 24 hours to optimize the network loss, and a comparison plan is designed to verify the feasibility of the proposed method. According to the final result, this proposed method can greatly reduce the annual network loss. © 2021. All Rights Reserved.

Energy is the focus of recent years. As one of the most representative new energy sources, solar energy has the characteristics of large reserves and no pollution. The main way to use solar energy is photovoltaic (PV) power generation, and the PV module in the PV power generation system is the component that converts solar energy into electric energy. In the actual power generation process, PV modules often receive uneven solar illumination due to the shadow caused by clouds, trees, buildings, etc., resulting in changes in the output characteristics of PV modules and reduced output efficiency. Therefore, modeling of PV modules under shading condition is very important. This paper presents two simple methods for solving the parameters of PV module models, which require few parameters and are easy to obtain. A modeling method of PV modules under shading condition is also presented. And then the modeling method is verified with the experiment result. Finally, an error criterion for PV module modeling under shading condition is proposed to measure the goodness of the modeling. Combining with the two parameter solving methods, the errors of this PV module modeling method under shading condition of the error criterion proposed in this paper are 3.24% and 2.51%, respectively, which meet the requirements for engineering use. © 2022 Institute of Physics Publishing. In response to the national dual carbon policy, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) are currently attracting much attention. This paper proposes optimal CCUS planning for multi-energy system. In this multi-energy system, transmission network and natural gas network are coupled via conversion and storage devices in the energy hubs. The CCUS planning is formulated based on a source-sink matching method to analyze the CO2 capture points, CO2 storage points and CO2 transportation routes. Furthermore, the original CCUS planning problem is reformulated as a mixed integer second order cone programming (MISOCP) and subsequently solved to guarantee a satisfactory convergence performance. Numerical studies on an urban multi-energy system are implemented to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed methodology over conventional scheme. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (STAR-RISs) have recently been employed to enhance the secure transmission due to the ability to manipulate the full-space electromagnetic signals. Prior works mainly investigate the single STAR-RIS aided secure communication system, which does not reveal the potential of the cooperative inter-STAR-RIS link. In this paper, a double STAR-RIS enhanced secure communication network involving multiple legitimate users (LUs) and eavesdroppers (Eves) is proposed. For fairness, the minimum secrecy rate maximization problem is formulated by jointly optimizing the active beamforming and passive transmission and reflection (T&R) beamforming. To deal with the highly non-convex nonlinear optimization problem, an active and passive beamforming optimization algorithm is proposed by employing the alternating optimization method. Wherein, a low-complexity sequential constraint relaxation (SCR) based algorithm is designed to solve the passive T&R beamforming optimization problem. Simulation results demonstrate that the secure performance in the double STAR-RIS assisted system outperforms that in the single RIS/double RIS/single STAR-RIS aided network. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm significantly reduces computational time (i.e., resource allocation time) compared with the traditional SCR based beamforming optimization algorithm. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

In order to improve the dynamic performance of the underdriven crane system, an improved linear active disturbance rejection controller (LADRC) based on the new error was proposed. The improved LADRC takes the error value between the disturbance and its observed value multiplied by a coefficient as the basis for adjusting the linear extended state observer (LESO). The improved method has two advantages. Firstly, the new error can prevent the traditional LESO from choosing larger parameter adjustment disturbances, which will limit the performance of the observer. Secondly, the pole can be configured by adjusting the coefficient to obtain better dynamic characteristics. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation and experiment. The proposed method can effectively restrain the swing of the payload and it is robust to system parameters perturbation as well.

Changes in coal seam hardness cause fluctuations in the feed resistance at the drill bit during the drilling process, leading to unstable feeding speed. This paper proposes a robust dynamic output feedback controller to suppress disturbances caused by the variations in coal seam hardness in the feed system. Firstly, an unknown parameter measuring coal seam hardness is introduced, and an uncertain model of the feeding system is established based on the finite element model of the drill string. By designing weighted functions based on industrial field requirements and constructing a generalized plant, the controller achieves loop shaping, reducing the low-frequency impact of coal seam hardness variations on the feed system and suppressing the systems resonance peak. Simulation results demonstrate that the controller effectively suppresses parameter variations and external disturbances caused by changes in coal seam hardness, achieving stable control of the drilling speed. © 2024 IEEE.
