This paper investigates the robust second-order tracking problem of multi-agent systems without velocity measurements and with input saturation on detailed balanced directed communication topologies, where agents' dynamics are subject to uncertain and external disturbances. We first construct one distributed bounded controller for multi-agent systems without uncertain and external disturbances. With the smart monitoring being widely concerned recently, substations have been introducing smart monitoring system. In this paper, we propose a vision-based recognition method for transformers in substation via combining with AdaBoost and a multi-template matching method. The proposed method works by dividing the whole process into two parts, namely coarse detection and fine recognition. In coarse detection, haar features of training samples in each sub-region are extracted and then AdaBoost algorithm is utilized for training and detecting. After coarse detection, we then perform fine recognition using multi-template matching with histogram intersection. Experimental results demonstrate that our method has a higher recognition precision and it is superior and more effective than the conventional AdaBoost method.

Social media enable users to express their emotion promptly, helping health policy makers to gauge public sentiment of disease outbreak. In this research, we developed an approach to social-media-based public health informatics and built a proof-of-concept system named eMood that helps to collect, analyze, and visualize Ebola outbreak discussions on Twitter. Our approach uses a comprehensive lexicon to identify emotion categories and present analysis findings of users' network relationship and influence patterns. We compared two methods of identifying user influence, user centrality and emotion entrainment, by using 255,118 tweets posted by 210,900 users in January 2015. Experimental results show that both methods identified highly influential users. Regression analysis of user influence rank and emotion scores demonstrates significant relationship between user influence and each emotion category. These results should provide strong implication for understanding social actions and for collecting social intelligence for public health informatics.

An optimal stochastic problem of production scheduling for uncertain re-entrant assembly workshops(URAWs) was studied, in which the assembly process is repeated on the basis of quality inspection result and the number of repeats is uncertain. According to analysis of URAWs, a stochastic expected value model of production scheduling was built up. In order to solve the model conveniently, the model was then converted into a deterministic model. A genetic simulated annealing algorithm based on feasible region(FR-GSAA) was designed to solve this model. Finally the result of simulation examples indicates that the model and the algorithm are feasible and practical.

This paper investigates the finite-time tracking control problem for rigid manipulator systems. The proposed controller is based on adding a power integrator technique, which guarantees global finite-time convergence of tracking errors. Compared with the backstepping control scheme, the proposed control scheme provides a faster convergence rate for the tracking error system. In this paper, the exponential stability analysis for ODE switched systems with time delay is extended to distributed parameter switched systems(DPSS) in Hilbert space. For a given family of exponential stable subsystems, this paper focuses on finding conditions to guarantee the overall DPSS' exponential stability. Based on semigroup theory, by applying piecewise Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals method incorporated average dwell time approach, sufficient conditions for exponential stability are derived. These conditions are given in the form of linear operator inequalities(LOIs)where the decision variables are operators in Hilbert space, and the stability properties depend on switching rule. Being applied to heat switched propagation equations, these LOIs are reduced to standard Linear Matrix Inequalities(LMIs). Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed result.

Playing table tennis with human is a challenging work for robot. The common architecture for table tennis robot in the past researches are to gather information at first, then predict the ball status at hitting point, and the motion mechanism moves according to the prediction at last. In order to save the time for the later two steps, the gathered information is limited. In this paper, we propose a new architecture, in which the robot would keep gathering the information and amending the prediction as the motion mechanism moves. To combine the gathered information and obtain reliable prediction of hitting point, a data processing algorithm is proposed. The algorithm is based on the kinetic analysis of the ball and the extended Kalman filter. The estimation of angular velocity measurement is also improved in this algorithm. Finally, the validity of the algorithm is confirmed by conducting experiments.

In this paper, a new path planning algorithm based on triangular meshes of the airfoil open surface for four commonly used laying angles in robotic fibre placement is presented. In the proposed algorithm, the 0° paths are computed by the slicing method, the ±45° paths are obtained by general rotation transformation, and the method to equally divide arc is adopted to get the 90° paths which can ensure that the complete fibre tows distributed evenly on the surface connect the root and tip part. Then the redundant path points are deleted, the final path points are obtained to generate the poses of the fibre placement head which is mounted at the robot manipulator's end-effector. Finally the simulation is carried out in software RobotStudio and the effect of laying is displayed using OpenGL. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
