Online traffic simulation that feeds from online information to simulate vehicle movement in real-time has recently seen substantial advancement in the development of intelligent transportation systems and urban traffic *** has been a challenging problem due to three aspects:1)The diversity of traffic patterns due to heterogeneous layouts of urban intersections;2)The nature of complex spatiotemporal correlations;3)The requirement of dynamically adjusting the parameters of traffic models in a real-time *** cater to these challenges,this paper proposes an online traffic simulation framework called automated urban traffic operation simulation via meta-learning(AUTOSIM).In particular,simulation models with various intersection layouts are automatically generated using an open-source simulation tool based on static traffic geometry *** a meta-learning technique,AUTOSIM enables an automated learning process for dynamic model settings of traffic scenarios featured with different spatiotemporal ***,AUTOSIM is capable of adapting traffic model parameters according to dynamic traffic information in real-time by using a *** computational experiments,we demonstrate the effectiveness of the meta-learningbased framework that is capable of providing reliable supports to real-time traffic simulation and dynamic traffic operations.

Secure output synchronization of heterogeneous multi-agent systems against false data injection attacks

This paper studies secure output synchronization for heterogeneous multi-agent systems against false data injection(FDI) attacks. Both the sensors and actuators of agents may be injected into FDI *** mitigate the malicious impact of these attacks on synchronization performance, a desired reference model,which is combined with an auxiliary system, is first designed for each agent to simulate its normal system dynamics. Then, based on this reference model, a state feedback cooperative controller and a static output feedback cooperative controller, which consist of adaptive compensators, are proposed, respectively. The integrated control protocols can ensure that the output synchronization error is small by adjusting some designed parameters even in the presence of FDI attacks. An illustrative example is employed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In dynamic optimization problems where optimal solutions change over time, traditional ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithms face limitations. This study explores the adaptation of multi-colony ACO algorithms, known for their enhanced search capabilities in stationary problems, to tackle optimization problems in dynamic environments. Various strategies for exchanging information between colonies, which is a critical factor influencing algorithm performance, are investigated. Using the dynamic traveling salesman problem as a foundation, we generate test cases to reflect real-world complexities. Our results on a set of problem instances reveal that the choice of communication strategy between colonies significantly impacts the adaptability and efficiency of multi-colony ACO algorithms in tracking moving optimum. © 2024 IEEE.

Estimation and compensation of periodic disturbance using internal-model-based equivalent-input-disturbance approach

This paper presents an improved equivalent-input-disturbance(EID) approach to deal with periodic disturbances. The approach has two degrees of freedom. One is an improved EID compensator, in which a repetitive controller is inserted in this study. The other is a conventional servo system for a reference *** improved EID compensator estimates and compensates for periodic disturbances without steady-state error, and the servo system ensures a satisfactory tracking performance. The improved EID compensator is designed using the linear-matrix-inequality(LMI) method. Three parameters in an LMI are selected using the particle-swarm-optimization(PSO) algorithm. The state-feedback gain of the conventional servo system is designed using the linear-quadratic-regulator(LQR) method. Simulation results of a rotational control system demonstrate the validity of the approach and its advantage over others.

Thermal-aware routing protocols in WBANs consider temperature factors in the routing process for preventing overheating of the tissues surrounding the sensor ***,providing an energy-efficient and thermal-aware routing in WBANs is a challenging *** deal with this problem,this article presents a novel temperature-aware routing protocol that applies Mamdani-based Fuzzy Logic controllers(FLCs)for selecting the next forwarding node in routing data *** FLCs apply five important input factors such as the priority of the packet,and sensor node's remaining energy,temperature,distance,and link path ***,a new hybrid version of the Marine Predator Algorithm(MPA),named MPAOA is presented by combining the exploration and exploitation phases of the MPA and Arithmetic optimization Algorithm(AOA).This algorithm is effectively applied for selecting the best possible set of fuzzy rules for FLCs and tuning their fuzzy *** experiments conducted in the Castalia simulator exhibit that the proposed temperature and priority-aware routing scheme can outperform other well-known routing schemes such as LATOR,TTRP,TAEO,ATAR,and EOCC-TARA in terms of metrics such as sensor nodes lifetime,the average temperature of the sensor nodes,and the percentage of the packets routed through non-overheated ***,it is shown that the MPAOA outperforms other algorithms such as Bat Algorithm(BA),Genetic Algorithm(GA),AOA,and MPA regarding the specified metrics.

The stabilization of Port-controlled Hamiltonian (PCH) systems under exogenous disturbances by designing a compensation control approach is studied in the paper. Firstly, a baseline feedback control is proposed utilizing the damping injection method. To estimate disturbances, then a novel exogenous disturbance observer is constructed, based on which a feedforward compensation control is developed. Next, a composite control law is proposed based on the feedforward compensation and the feedback control. For the Hamiltonian system, an asymptotic stability analysis is followed finally. The feasibility of the compensation control strategy is revealed by a numerical simulation example.

Evidences shows that cell-to-cell infection occurs in HBV infection and is a more efficient way which may lead to more than half of viral infection. Hence, we formulate an HBV infection model with cell-to-cell infection, meanwhile, we incorporate the infection age of infected cells. For dynamic behaviors, we firstly establish the well-posedness of the model and asymptotic smoothness of the solution, and then show the global threshold dynamical behaviors, which is determined by the reproduction number, finally perform the numerical simulation not only to verify theoretical results but also explore the effects of cell-to-cell infection on the viral load and infection concentration. Our finding is that ignoring the cell-to-cell infection will underestimate the actually HBV infection status. For optimal control of treatment for HBV, we introduce two time-varying control measures and investigate the corresponding optimal control problem. We derive the characteristic express of optimal control and discuss the effects of control costs and control combination. The results show high control cost will not result in better control effectiveness, while integrated optimal control can reach the best control objectives compared with two single controls, moreover, age can greatly influences the HBV infection at the initial stage. © 2023, The Authors. This paper presents a two-dimensional(2 D) repetitive-control method based on sliding-mode control for a nonlinear system with external *** a sliding-mode controller has a powerful ability to handle nonlinearity and external disturbances during the sliding motion,the reference-tracking and disturbance-suppression problems of the original nonlinear system are decomposed into two subproblems:reference tracking for a linear system and disturbance suppression for a nonlinear modified-repetitive control system(MRCS) with external *** the first one,a repetitive controller constructed with two positive time-delay loops is employed to increase the flexibility of the system design and guarantee high accuracy reference tracking.A continuous-discrete 2 D model of the linear MRCS is established to describe continuous control and discrete learning by using the 2 D property of repetitive control.A sufficient stability condition,in which three parameters are used to adjust control and learning,is given to guarantee the stability of the linear *** design of the system is transformed into parameter *** optimization algorithm is used to yield the optimal *** the other,a sliding-mode controller is developed to eliminate the effect of both nonlinearity and external disturbances on the system.A linear-matrix-inequality(LMI)-based sufficient stability condition is derived to guarantee the stability of the sliding *** condition is used to design the sliding-mode controller,which has a simple structure and does not require any specific information of nonlinearity and external ***,a numerical example and a comparison demonstrate the validity and advantage of the presented method.

Geomagnetic data is vital for predicting earthquakes and magnetic storms. In this regard, a new Bayesian exponential regularized tensor completion framework for sparse geomagnetic data, i.e. BERTC, is proposed to address this problem in the study. First, the spatiotemporal geomagnetic data is reshaped into a 3D tensor with days and hours that features random missing elements. Second, a Gibbs sampling algorithm is developed to achieve probabilistic inference on matrices' factors and corresponding parameters in this model. Thus, the sparse tensor can be gradually optimized to fill the missing entries during iterations. Third, an exponential regularizer is proposed to reduce oscillations before and after iterations to enhance imputation quality further. Finally, the derived factor matrices are aggregated from Gibbs sampling to complete the sparse tensor. Numerical geomagnetic datasets from 13 cities are employed, and extensive comparison experiments are conducted to evaluate the imputation performance of the BERTC. The results show the superiority of the proposed BERTC compared to the state-of-the-art methods in terms of imputation accuracy, with an approximate improvement of the imputation accuracy as no less than 20%. © 2023 IEEE.
