Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) envisages a sustainable, safe, convenient, and affordable air transport system. In socio-technical transition of AAM, there are a number of trade-offs in ecosystem that need to be studied. Three perspectives on economic feasibility are explored: first, based on history of VTOL services and value of time estimates, we discuss whether AAM can provide customers with competitive mobility services; second, what are the stakeholders’ insights on the deployment of AAM; last, the experience in the development of autonomous driving technology, such as parallel intelligence, can inform future AAM research.

Reinforcement learning(RL) algorithms have been demonstrated to solve a variety of continuous control tasks. However,the training efficiency and performance of such methods limit further applications. In this paper, we propose an off-policy heterogeneous actor-critic(HAC) algorithm, which contains soft Q-function and ordinary Q-function. The soft Q-function encourages the exploration of a Gaussian policy, and the ordinary Q-function optimizes the mean of the Gaussian policy to improve the training efficiency. Experience replay memory is another vital component of off-policy RL methods. We propose a new sampling technique that emphasizes recently experienced transitions to boost the policy training. Besides, we integrate HAC with hindsight experience replay(HER) to deal with sparse reward tasks, which are common in the robotic manipulation domain. Finally, we evaluate our methods on a series of continuous control benchmark tasks and robotic manipulation tasks. The experimental results show that our method outperforms prior state-of-the-art methods in terms of training efficiency and performance, which validates the effectiveness of our method.

It is significant to monitor the thickness change of commercial Li-ion pouch cells that are assembled from Si-based electrodes and layered cathodes since the volume variation is critically linked with kinetic reaction mechanism and chemomechanical degradation. In this work, the single-point and full-field measurements are conducted on the thickness evolution of Si Ox/Cgraphite/lithium nickel-cobalt-aluminum oxide(Si Ox-G/NCA) batteries. It is found that an abnormal overshoot that has been rarely observed in the previous studies appears at the beginning of discharge, which is believed to be the combined results between the rapid expansion of NCA and the contraction of graphite related to the state of charge(SOC). Compared with the results of single-point measurement, the spatial displacement distribution obtained from three-dimensional(3D) scanning suggests the full-field thickness evolution of the entire cell scale, which is more feasible and efficient to provide full-field information for supporting pouch cell design and pack integration.

Tiny bolts are widely used on high-speed trains, playing an important role in fixing train components. However, because of the complex running environment of trains, missing bolts occur from time to time and may cause traffic accidents, resulting in property damage and, in serious cases, endangering the lives of the occupants. Therefore, it is essential to detect missing bolts on high-speed trains. The bolts discussed in this paper are generally located on the underside of high-speed trains and their small size makes detection more difficult. In this paper, we first expand the dataset, and then add the Attention module and Transformer based on YOLOv5, and change the FPN of YOLOv5 to BiFPN, fuse the features of different layers using different weights, and crop the high-resolution original image during training and testing, and finally return to the original image. Our method eventually achieves 95.3% AP, effectively improving the detection accuracy.
