Background: Decades of steady improvements in life expectancy in Europe slowed down from around 2011, well before the COVID-19 pandemic, for reasons which remain disputed. We aimed to assess how changes in risk factors and cause-specific death rates in different European countries related to changes in life expectancy in those countries before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: We used data and methods from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2021 to compare changes in life expectancy at birth, causes of death, and population exposure to risk factors in 16 European Economic Area countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden) and the four UK nations (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales) for three time periods: 1990–2011, 2011–19, and 2019–21. Changes in life expectancy and causes of death were estimated with an established life expectancy cause-specific decomposition method, and compared with summary exposure values of risk factors for the major causes of death influencing life expectancy. Findings: All countries showed mean annual improvements in life expectancy in both 1990–2011 (overall mean 0·23 years [95% uncertainty interval [UI] 0·23 to 0·24]) and 2011–19 (overall mean 0·15 years [0·13 to 0·16]). The rate of improvement was lower in 2011–19 than in 1990–2011 in all countries except for Norway, where the mean annual increase in life expectancy rose from 0·21 years (95% UI 0·20 to 0·22) in 1990–2011 to 0·23 years (0·21 to 0·26) in 2011–19 (difference of 0·03 years). In other countries, the difference in mean annual improvement between these periods ranged from –0·01 years in Iceland (0·19 years [95% UI 0·16 to 0·21] vs 0·18 years [0·09 to 0·26]), to –0·18 years in England (0·25 years [0·24 to 0·25] vs 0·07 years [0·06 to 0·08]). For point-wise gamut mapping, the largest challenge is how to preserve both detail and saturation with state of the art gamut mapping algorithms based on the main concepts of gamut clipping or gamut compression. Based on a combination of clipping and compression algorithms, a hybrid point-wise gamut mapping framework is proposed and evaluated in this paper. Using five standard scenes, five combination ratios, our framework based on cusp point is evaluated. According to the subjective experiment results, the trend of accuracy scale and preference scale were indicated first decreasing stage and second increasing stage, and its turning point is mainly 50% ratio scale. Three objective image quality metrics were further used to correlate and analyze the above special phenomenon clearly.

With high expansibility and efficient power usage, tiered wireless sensor networks are widely deployed in many fields as an important part of Internet of Things (IoTs). It is challenging to process range query while protecting sensitive data from adversaries. Moreover, most existing work focuses on privacy-preserving range query neglecting collusion attacks and probability attacks, which are more threatening to network security. In this paper, we first propose a secure range query protocol called secRQ, which not only protects data privacy, but also resists collusion attacks and probability attacks in tiered wireless sensor networks. Generalized inverse matrices and distance-based range query mechanism are used to guarantee security as well as high efficiency and accuracy. Besides, we propose the mutual verification scheme to verify the integrity of query results. Finally, both theoretical analysis and experimental results confirm the security, efficiency and accuracy of secRQ.

As a thriving travel business, disabled accessible tourism has been getting more and more attention from related stakeholders in the market since the introduction of its concept and its development in China. Tourism attraction and tourism enterprises are acknowledged as the stakeholders who the disabled tourism, if taken as a product, contacts with directly while being served and sold. Therefore, this paper constructs an evolutionary game model between tourism enterprises and tourism attraction and analyzes the evolutionary stable strategy and key influence factors of the two parties when developing the disabled travel business. The research results show that to develop the disabled tourism needs the cooperation of tourism attraction and enterprises. The enterprises should increase their communication with tourism attraction to decrease unnecessary lose and simultaneously optimize their service quality while managing to strengthen business integration. The tourism attraction should construct barrier-free facilities in accordance with government's policy, improve their profession of the disabled tourism, and intensify the propaganda of this business.

Multimedia data, especially image and video data, have become one of the most overwhelming data types on the Internet recently. Considering the user experience and real application requirements, multimedia data always demand a real-time processing speed. As a result, the huge amount of such data make retrieving useful information from them not only data-intensive, but also computation-intensive, which poses significant challenges to current system and architecture designs. Unfortunately, most prior studies focus only on text based retrieval systems or traditional multimedia processing applications. As far as we know, there is no systematic study on analyzing the characteristics of multimedia retrieval applications and how they might impact system and architecture designs. In this paper, we make the first attempt to construct a multimedia retrieval benchmark suite (called MMR Bench) to evaluate the corresponding system and architecture designs. To embody diverse multimedia retrieval applications, we collect eight state-of-the-art multimedia retrieval algorithms which cover the whole retrieval stages, including feature extraction, feature matching, and spatial verification. To satisfy diverse evaluation purposes, we implement multiple versions for each algorithm, including sequential version, pthread version for multi-core evaluation and data-parallel (i.e., Map-reduce) version for data-center evaluation. Moreover, MMR Bench provides flexible interfaces through retrieval stages, as well as a tool to adjust parameters and regenerating different scales of reasonable input. With such a flexible design, the algorithms in MMR Bench may be not only suitable for individual kernel-level evaluation, but also capable to be integrated into a complete infrastructure for system-level evaluation. Adding to societal changes today, are the miscellaneous big data produced in different fields. Coupled with these data is the appearance of risk management. Admittedly, to predict future trend by using these data is conducive to make everything more efficient and easy. Now, no matter companies or individuals, they increasingly focus on identifying risks and managing them before risks. Effective risk management will lead them to deal with potential problems. This thesis focuses on risk management of flight delay area using big real time data. It proposes two different prediction models, one is called General Long Term Departure Prediction Model and the other is named as Improved Real Time Arrival Prediction Model. By studying the main factors lead to flight delay, this thesis takes weather, carrier, National Aviation System, security and previous late aircraft as analysis factors. By utilizing our models can do not only long time but also short term flight delay predictions. The results demonstrate goodness of fit. Besides the theory part, it also presents a practical and beautiful web application for real time flight arrival prediction based on our second model.

To deal with the challenge of information overload, in this paper, we propose a financial news recommendation algorithm which help users find the articles that are interesting to read. To settle the ambiguity problem, a new presented OF-IDF method is employed to represent the unstructured text data in the form of key concepts, synonyms and synsets which are all stored in the domain ontology. For users, the recommendation algorithm build the profiles based on their behaviors to detect the genuine interests and predict current interests automatically and in real time by applying the thinking of relevance feedback. Finally, the experiment conducted on a financial news dataset demonstrates that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the performance of a traditional recommender.
