Federated Graph Learning (FGL) has garnered widespread attention by enabling collaborative training on multiple clients for semi-supervised classification tasks. However, most existing FGL studies do not well consider the missing inter-client topology information in real-world scenarios, causing insufficient feature aggregation of multi-hop neighbor clients during model training. Moreover, the classic FGL commonly adopts the FedAvg but neglects the high training costs when the number of clients expands, resulting in the overload of a single edge server. To address these important challenges, we propose a novel FGL framework, named SpreadFGL, to promote the information flow in edge-client collaboration and extract more generalized potential relationships between clients. In SpreadFGL, an adaptive graph imputation generator incorporated with a versatile assessor is first designed to exploit the potential links between subgraphs, without sharing raw data. Next, a new negative sampling mechanism is developed to make SpreadFGL concentrate on more refined information in downstream tasks. To facilitate load balancing at the edge layer, SpreadFGL follows a distributed training manner that enables fast model convergence. Using real-world testbed and benchmark graph datasets, extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed SpreadFGL. The results show that SpreadFGL achieves higher accuracy and faster convergence against state-of-the-art algorithms.

Cryptocurrency, as a typical application scene of blockchain, has attracted broad interests from both industrial and academic communities. With its rapid development, the cryptocurrency transaction network embedding(CTNE) has become a hot topic. It embeds transaction nodes into low-dimensional feature space while effectively maintaining a network structure,thereby discovering desired patterns demonstrating involved users' normal and abnormal behaviors. Based on a wide investigation into the state-of-the-art CTNE, this survey has made the following efforts: 1) categorizing recent progress of CTNE methods, 2) summarizing the publicly available cryptocurrency transaction network datasets, 3) evaluating several widely-adopted methods to show their performance in several typical evaluation protocols, and 4) discussing the future trends of CTNE. By doing so, it strives to provide a systematic and comprehensive overview of existing CTNE methods from static to dynamic perspectives,thereby promoting further research into this emerging and important field.

Replace2Self: Self-Supervised Denoising based on Voxel Replacing and Image Mixing for Diffusion MRI

Low signal to noise ratio (SNR) remains one of the limitations of diffusion weighted (DW) imaging. How to suppress the influence of noise on the subsequent analysis about the tissue microstructure is still challenging. This work proposed a novel self-supervised learning model, Replace2Self, to effectively reduce spatial correlated noise in DW images. Specifically, a voxel replacement strategy based on similar block matching in Q-space was proposed to destroy the correlations of noise in DW image along one diffusion gradient direction. To alleviate the signal gap caused by the voxel replacement, an image mixing strategy based on complementary mask was designed to generate two different noisy DW images. After that, these two noisy DW images were taken as input, and the non-correlated noisy DWimage after voxel replacement was taken as learning target, a denoising network was trained for denoising. To promote the denoising performance, a complementary mask mixing consistency loss and an inverse replacement regularization loss were also proposed. Through the comparisons against several existing DW image denoising methods on extensive simulation data with different noise distributions, noise levels and b-values, as well as the acquisition datasets and the ablation experiments, we verified the effectiveness of the proposed method. Regardless of the noise distribution and noise level, the proposed method achieved the highest PSNR, which was at least 1.9% higher than the suboptimal method when the noise level reaches 10%. Furthermore, our method has superior generalization ability due to the use of the proposed strategies. © 2025 IEEE. All rights reserved.

Multi-objective optimization problems (MOPs) are ubiquitous in real-world applications, presenting a complex challenge of balancing multiple conflicting objectives. Traditional multi-objective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs), though effective, often rely on domain-specific expertise for improved optimization performance, hindering adaptability to unseen MOPs. In recent years, the Large Language Models (LLMs) has revolutionized software engineering by enabling the autonomous generation and refinement of programs. Leveraging this breakthrough, we propose a new LLM-based framework that autonomously designs MOEAs for solving MOPs. The proposed framework includes a robust testing module to refine the generated MOEA through error-driven dialogue with LLMs, a dynamic selection strategy along with informative prompting-based crossover and mutation to fit textual optimization pipeline. Our approach facilitates the design of MOEA without the extensive demands for expert intervention, thereby speeding up the innovation of MOEA. Empirical studies across various MOP categories validate the robustness and superior performance of our proposed framework. © 1997-2012 IEEE.

Current diffusion-based inpainting models struggle to preserve unmasked regions or generate highly coherent content. Additionally, it is hard for them to generate meaningful content for 3D inpainting. To tackle these challenges, we design a plug-and-play branch that runs through the entire generation process to enhance existing models. Specifically, we utilize dual encoders - a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) encoder and the pre-trained Variational AutoEncoder (VAE) encoder, to encode masked images. The latent code and the feature map from the dual encoders are fed to diffusion models simultaneously. In addition, we apply Zero-padded initialization to solve the problem of mode collapse caused by this branch. Experiments on BrushBench and EditBench demonstrate that models with our plug-and-play branch can improve the coherence of inpainting, and our model achieves new state-of-the-art results.

QoS-Based Beamforming and Compression Design for Cooperative Cellular Networks via Lagrangian Duality

This paper considers the quality-of-service (QoS)-based joint beamforming and compression design problem in the downlink cooperative cellular network, where multiple relay-like base stations (BSs), connected to the central processor via ratelimited fronthaul links, cooperatively transmit messages to the users. The problem of interest is formulated as the minimization of the total transmit power of the BSs, subject to all users' signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) constraints and all BSs' fronthaul rate constraints. In this paper, we first show that there is no duality gap between the considered joint optimization problem and its Lagrangian dual by showing the tightness of its semidefinite relaxation (SDR). Then, we propose an efficient algorithm based on the above duality result for solving the considered problem. The proposed algorithm judiciously exploits the special structure of an enhanced Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions of the considered problem and approaches the solution that satisfies the enhanced KKT conditions via two fixed point iterations. Two key features of the proposed algorithm are: (1) it is able to detect whether the considered problem is feasible or not and find its globally optimal solution when it is feasible;(2) it is highly efficient because both of the fixed point iterations in the proposed algorithm are linearly convergent and function evaluations in the fixed point iterations are computationally cheap. Numerical results show the global optimality and efficiency of the proposed algorithm. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Gastric cancer(GC)is one of the most common cancers and ranks the third in cancer mortality all over the *** goal of this study was to identify potential hub-genes,highlighting their functions,signaling pathways,and candidate drugs for the treatment of GC *** used publicly available next generation sequencing(NGS)data to identify differentially expressed(DE)*** top DE genes were mapped to STRING database to construct the protein-protein interaction(PPI)network and top hub genes were selected for further *** found a total of 1555 DE genes with 870 upregulated and 685 downregulated genes in *** selected the top 400(200 upregulated and 200 downregulated)genes to construct a PPI network and extracted the top 15 hub *** gene ontology(GO)term and kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment analyses of the 15 hub genes exposed some important functions and signaling pathways that were significantly associated with GC *** survival analysis of the hub genes disclosed that the lower expressions of the three hub genes CDH2,COL4A1,and COL5A2 were associated with better survival of GC *** three genes might be the candidate biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment of ***,we considered 3 key proteins(genomic biomarkers)(COL4A1,CDH2,and CO5A2)as the drug target proteins(receptors),performed their docking analysis with the 102 meta-drug agents,and found Everolimus,Docetaxel,Lanreotide,Venetoclax,Temsirolimus,and Nilotinib as the top ranked 6 candidate drugs with respect to our proposed target proteins for the treatment against GC ***,the proposed drugs might play vital role for the treatment against GC patients.

BIG-MOE: BYPASS ISOLATED GATING MOE FOR GENERALIZED MULTIMODAL FACE ANTI-SPOOFING

In the domain of facial recognition security, multimodal Face Anti-Spoofing (FAS) is essential for countering presentation attacks. However, existing technologies encounter challenges due to modality biases and imbalances, as well as domain shifts. Our research introduces a Mixture of Experts (MoE) model to address these issues effectively. We identified three limitations in traditional MoE approaches to multimodal FAS: (1) Coarse-grained experts’ inability to capture nuanced spoofing indicators;(2) Gated networks’ susceptibility to input noise affecting decision-making;(3) MoE’s sensitivity to prompt tokens leading to overfitting with conventional learning methods. To mitigate these, we propose the Bypass Isolated Gating MoE (BIG-MoE) framework, featuring: (1) Fine-grained experts for enhanced detection of subtle spoofing cues;(2) An isolation gating mechanism to counteract input noise;(3) A novel differential convolutional prompt bypass enriching the gating network with critical local features, thereby improving perceptual capabilities. Extensive experiments on four benchmark datasets demonstrate significant generalization performance improvement in multimodal FAS task. The code is released at https://***/murInJ/BIGMoE. Event Argument Extraction with Two-Dimensional Enhanced Fusion Mechanism

Addressing the lack of interaction between trigger and arguments, and the lack of interaction within channels in existing studies of event argument extraction, this paper proposes a two-dimensional enhanced fusion mechanism for event argument extraction (W2-ARG) that incorporates a 2D enhanced fusion method. It inserts identifiers on both sides of a trigger word in a sentence, which encodes information about the event type. In the learning process, it is effective to enhance the interaction between trigger and argument, and encode the trigger separately to highlight its information in the sentence. The event argument extraction is implemented as a two-dimensional representation of label prediction. It has the advantage to capture semantic interactions of words at different distances through dilated convolution. Subsequently, a channel attention module is applied to enhance the interactions within the channel to strengthen the information transfer within the channel. Finally, the Laplace operator is utilized to highlight the positional features of event arguments in the semantic space to improve the performance. The proposed model is experimented on the ACE05-EN and ERE-EN datasets. Privacy-preserving Universal Adversarial Defense for Black-box Models

Deep neural networks (DNNs) are increasingly used in critical applications such as identity authentication and autonomous driving, where robustness against adversarial attacks is crucial. These attacks can exploit minor perturbations to cause significant prediction errors, making it essential to enhance the resilience of DNNs. Traditional defense methods often rely on access to detailed model information, which raises privacy concerns, as model owners may be reluctant to share such data. In contrast, existing black-box defense methods fail to offer a universal defense against various types of adversarial attacks. To address these challenges, we introduce DUCD, a universal black-box defense method that does not require access to the target model's parameters or architecture. Our approach involves distilling the target model by querying it with data, creating a white-box surrogate while preserving data privacy. We further enhance this surrogate model using a certified defense based on randomized smoothing and optimized noise selection, enabling robust defense against a broad range of adversarial attacks. Comparative evaluations between the certified defenses of the surrogate and target models demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach. Experiments on multiple image classification datasets show that DUCD not only outperforms existing black-box defenses but also matches the accuracy of white-box defenses, all while enhancing data privacy and reducing the success rate of membership inference *** Codes I.2.10 © 2024, CC BY.
