Crowdsening plays an important role in spatiotemporal data collection by leveraging ubiquitous smart devices equipped with sensors. Considering rational and strategic device users, designing a truthful incentive mechanism is a crucial issue. Moreover, another key challenge is that there may not exist adequate participating users in reality. To encourage more users to participate, the social relationship among them can be leveraged, as users may be significantly influenced by their social friends. In this paper, we assume recruited users to diffuse uncompleted sensing tasks to their friends, and propose an efficient and truthful online incentive mechanism for a such social crowdsensing network. Specially, we model the time-varying social influence of a user by extending two metrics of node centrality used in social networks. In order to maximize the accumulated social welfare achieved by the network, we design a user selection algorithm and a payment determination algorithm respectively, in which payments given to participants not only depend on data qualities but also related with social influences. We theoretically prove that our mechanism achieves properties of computational efficiency, individual rationality, and truthfulness. Diffusion models are initially designed for image generation. Recent research shows that the internal signals within their backbones, named activations, can also serve as dense features for various discriminative tasks such as semantic segmentation. Given numerous activations, selecting a small yet effective subset poses a fundamental problem. To this end, the early study of this field performs a large-scale quantitative comparison of the discriminative ability of the activations. However, we find that many potential activations have not been evaluated, such as the queries and keys used to compute attention scores. Moreover, recent advancements in diffusion architectures bring many new activations, such as those within embedded ViT modules. Both combined, activation selection remains unresolved but overlooked. To tackle this issue, this paper takes a further step with a much broader range of activations evaluated. Considering the significant increase in activations, a full-scale quantitative comparison is no longer operational. Instead, we seek to understand the properties of these activations, such that the activations that are clearly inferior can be filtered out in advance via simple qualitative evaluation. After careful analysis, we discover three properties universal among diffusion models, enabling this study to go beyond specific models. On top of this, we present effective feature selection solutions for several popular diffusion models. Finally, the experiments across multiple discriminative tasks validate the superiority of our method over the SOTA competitors. The challenge of solving dynamic multi-objective optimization problems is to trace the varying Pareto optimal front and/or Pareto optimal set quickly and efficiently. This paper proposes a multi-direction prediction strategy using a hybrid chemical reaction optimization, aimed at finding the dynamic Pareto optimal front and/or Pareto optimal set as quickly and accurately as possible before the next environmental change occurs. The proposed method, multi-direction prediction multi-objective hybrid chemical reaction optimization algorithm which mainly includes a hybrid chemical reaction optimization algorithm is proposed for solving dynamic multi-objective problems, which can guide population trace the optimum. When the environment has changed, the population is divided into several subpopulations. In subpopulation, a center point was found to construct multi-direction prediction model. As a result, this approach enhances the diversity of algorithm. While the environment has not changed, the hybrid chemical reaction algorithm with particle swarm optimization algorithm can efficiency find the optimal solution, it can achieve good diversity as well as guarantee the avoidance of local optimal solutions. The proposed algorithm is measured on several benchmark test suites with various dynamic characteristics and different difficulties. Experimental results show that this algorithm is very competitive in dealing with dynamic multi-objective optimization problems when compared with four state-of-the-art approaches. © 2022, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The Mobile Edge computing (MEC) system located close to the client allows mobile smart devices to offload their computations onto edge servers, enabling them to benefit from low-latency computing services. Both cloud service providers and users seek more comprehensive solutions, necessitating judicious decisions in service deployment and task offloading while balancing multiple objectives. This study investigates service deployment and task offloading challenges in a multi-user environment, framing them as a multi-task high-dimensional multi-objective optimization (MT-HD-MOO) problem within an edge environment. To ensure stable service provisioning, beyond considering latency, energy consumption, and cost as deployment objectives, network reliability is also incorporated. Furthermore, to promote equitable usage of edge servers, load balancing is introduced as a fourth task offloading objective, in addition to latency, energy consumption, and cost. Additionally, this paper designs a MT-HD-MOO algorithm based on a multi-selection strategy to address this model and its solution. By employing diverse selection strategies, an environment selection strategy pool is established to enhance population diversity within the high-dimensional objective space. Edge computing is a novel computing paradigm that offers kinds of resources at the network edge. In edge computing, terminal users are connected to edge servers via the wireless network and there are various channels in each wireless link. These wireless channels are limited resource while different channel has different cost and service ability. The dynamic changes of users' status make it harder to find an appropriate method to satisfy the BPM requirements of channel deployment. With this observation, it is a tricky challenge to make a trade-off between the system cost(rental price) and the service ability(number of users). In view of this challenge, an intelligent resource scheduling method, named EdgeIRS, is proposed in this paper. In the technical sense, the EdgeIRS method can accommodate most users at the edge with a minimum cost of deploying channel resources in an online way. Its performance is analyzed theoretically and the experiments verify the superiority of the method. © 2022 IEEE.

High-fidelity kinship face synthesis has many potential applications, such as kinship verification, missing child identification, and social media analysis. However, it is challenging to synthesize high-quality descendant faces with genetic relations due to the lack of large-scale, high-quality annotated kinship data. This paper proposes RFG (Region-level Facial Gene) extraction framework to address this issue. We propose to use IGE (Image-based Gene Encoder), LGE (Latent-based Gene Encoder) and Gene Decoder to learn the RFGs of a given face image, and the relationships between RFGs and the latent space of Style-GAN2. As cycle-like losses are designed to measure the $\mathcal{L}_data$ distances between the output of Gene Decoder and image encoder, and that between the output of LGE and IGE, only face images are required to train our framework, i.e. no paired kinship face data is required. Based upon the proposed RFGs, a crossover and mutation module is further designed to inherit the facial parts of parents. A Gene Pool has also been used to introduce the variations into the mutation of RFGs. The diversity of the faces of descendants can thus be significantly increased. Qualitative, quantitative, and subjective experiments on FIW, TSKinFace, and FF-databases clearly show that the quality and diversity of kinship faces generated by our approach are much better than the existing state-of-the-art methods.

Strong noise is one of the biggest challenges in controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) exploration, which severely affects the quality of the recorded signal. We develop a novel and effective CSEM noise attenuation method that integrates a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) with a high-quality sounding curve screening mechanism. This method first uses a DCNN to learn the large-scale noise characteristics of CSEM measured data and build a DCNN denoising model for attenuating the noise. Because some impulse noise remains after DCNN denoising, the high-quality sounding curve screening mechanism is innovatively applied to optimize the DCNN denoised data. The core of this method is the smoothness value (SV), which quantitatively evaluates the smoothness of the sounding curve (apparent resistivity curve). In effect, the mechanism segments the overall DCNN denoised data and calculates the corresponding sounding curve and its SV for each segment. The highest-quality sounding curve can be screened out by comparing the SVs of all curves as well as obtaining the highest-quality data segment present in the overall DCNN denoised data. Finally, our method is validated with synthetic and field data, demonstrating its feasibility and effectiveness in attenuating large-scale CSEM noise. The quality of CSEM data, which is heavily affected by noise, is significantly improved after processing by our method. © 2025 Society of Exploration Geophysicists. All rights reserved.

Utilizing Multipath Effects for Mobile Charging

Recently, Wireless Rechargeable Sensor Networks (WRSNs) have emerged as a promising solution to address the energy limitations of wireless sensor networks. In practical applications of WRSNs, environmental objects are ubiquitous, reflecting radio waves and causing them to reach sensors via multiple paths. These multipath effects significantly impact the power intensity received by sensors. In this paper, we study a fundamental issue of charGing schEduling with mulTipath effectS (GETS), that is, how to schedule a mobile charger by comprehensively considering the multipath effects to maximize the overall charging utility. To this end, we first establish a charging model with environmental objects to investigate the impact of multipath effects on power distribution. Then, we propose a charging scheduling scheme that not only selects a series of sojourn locations for the MC (Mobile Charger) to maximize the total power received by nearby sensors but also construct a charging path that avoids environmental objects. We conduct extensive simulations as well as indoor and outdoor field experiments to evaluate the performance of our scheme. The results demonstrate that, on average, our scheme outperforms baseline algorithms by 48.87%. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

ATHENA: An In-vehicle CAN Intrusion Detection Framework Based on Physical Characteristics of Vehicle Systems

With the growing interconnection between In-Vehicle Networks (IVNs) and external environments, intelligent vehicles are increasingly vulnerable to sophisticated external network attacks. This paper proposes ATHENA, the first IVN intrusion detection framework that adopts a vehicle-cloud integrated architecture to achieve better security performance for the resource-constrained vehicular environment. Specifically, in the cloud with sufficient resources, ATHENA uses the clustering method of multi-distribution mixture model combined with deep data mining technology to generate the raw Payload Rule Bank of IVN CAN messages, and then improves the rule quality with the help of exploitation on the first-principled physical knowledge of the vehicle system, after which the payload rules are periodically sent to the vehicle terminal. At the vehicle terminal, a simple LSTM component is used to generate the Time Rule Bank representing the long-term time series dependencies and the periodic characteristics of CAN messages, but not for any detection tasks as in traditional usage scenarios, where only the generated time rules are the candidates for further IVN intrusion detection tasks. Based on both the payload and time rules generated from cloud and vehicle terminal, ATHENA can achieve efficient intrusion detection capability by simple rule-base matching operations, rather than using complex black-box reasoning of resource-intensive neural network models, which is in fact only used for rule logic generation phase instead of the actual intrusion detection phase in our framework. Comparative experimental results on the ROAD dataset, which is current the most outstanding real-world in-vehicle CAN dataset covering new instances of sophisticated and stealthy masquerade attacks, demonstrate ATHENA significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art IVN intrusion detection methods in detecting complex attacks. Intellectual property transactions have shown a strong growth momentum in recent years, but the patent transaction market has been plagued by the matching degree of consumers and sellers, resulting in frequent problems such as low patent transformation efficiency and poor transaction quality. This paper proposes a method of recommending patents to consumers by experts to improve the environment of patent transactions. Through the analysis of the past transaction information of the patent, the effective path information of the target is extracted. The graph neural network is used to describe the characteristics and semantics among experts, patents and consumers, and then capture the potential weight among them through the common attention mechanism, and then dynamically integrate them to predict the occurrence of recommendation behavior. The paper makes reasonable use of social information and expert information in the transaction, which significantly improves the rationality and accuracy of expert recommendation.
