Although reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) can improve the secrecy communication performance of wireless users, it still faces challenges such as limited coverage and double-fading effect. To address these issues, in this paper, we utilize a novel multi-functional RIS (MF-RIS) to enhance the secrecy performance of wireless users, and investigate the physical layer secrecy problem in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) networks. Specifically, we derive the secrecy outage probability (SOP) and secrecy throughput expressions of users in MF-RIS-assisted NOMA networks with external and internal eavesdroppers. The asymptotic expressions for SOP and secrecy diversity order are also analyzed under high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions. Additionally, we examine the impact of receiver hardware limitations and error transmission-induced imperfect successive interference cancellation (SIC) on the secrecy performance. Numerical results indicate that: i) under the same power budget, the secrecy performance achieved by MF-RIS significantly outperforms active RIS and simultaneously transmitting and reflecting RIS;ii) with increasing power budget, residual interference caused by imperfect SIC surpasses thermal noise as the primary factor affecting secrecy capacity;and iii) deploying additional elements at the MF-RIS brings significant secrecy enhancements for the external eavesdropping scenario, in contrast to the internal eavesdropping case. Fueled by advancements in intelligent transportation systems, the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) seeks to connect smart vehicles, road infrastructure, and users into a unified network, enhancing traffic efficiency and reducing accident risks. Centralized cloud data collection raises concerns about privacy and communication overhead. To address these, Distributed Edge Intelligence (DEI) reduces transmission costs and improves privacy by implementing machine learning at the network edge. In this context, Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control (CACC) systems, combined with DEI in the IoV framework, enhance transportation system intelligence through real-time data processing and decentralized decision-making. This paper proposes a modeling and analysis method for CACC systems based on Petri nets. The datasets are automatically generated using tools developed by our team, and machine learning methods are utilized to perform risk prediction analysis on the CACC model. From the perspective of Petri nets synchronization, we propose risk mitigation strategies from a design standpoint. The research results show that the proposed method significantly reduces signal accumulation and enhances synchronization in CACC systems. This improvement provides new theoretical support and technical guidance for the design and implementation of CACC systems, ultimately enhancing their safety and reliability. © 2025 IEEE.

Nowadays, the best-effort service can not guarantee the quality of service (QoS) for all kinds of services. QoS routing is an important method to guarantee QoS requirements. It involves path selection for flows based on the current network status and the performance criteria of the service requirements. However, it is difficult for proposed solutions to obtain all the available paths owing to not fully considering all the QoS parameters of paths. In this paper, we propose SWQoS, a novel, universal, and stepwise QoS guarantee scheme based on multiple QoS parameter evaluation for selecting the available paths including preferred paths, satisfied paths and reluctant paths in SDN. The experiments show that SWQoS can select all the available paths that meet the performance criteria of the service requirements and have better QoS parameter performance compared with other path selection methods. © 2021, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering.

We study the problem of leveraging the syntactic structure of text to enhance pre-trained models such as BERT and RoBERTa. Existing methods utilize syntax of text either in the pre-training stage or in the fine-tuning stage, so that they suffer from discrepancy between the two stages. Such a problem would lead to the necessity of having human-annotated syntactic information, which limits the application of existing methods to broader scenarios. To address this, we present a model that utilizes the syntax of text in both pre-training and fine-tuning stages. Our model is based on Transformer with a syntax-aware attention layer that considers the dependency tree of the text. We further introduce a new pre-training task of predicting the syntactic distance among tokens in the dependency tree. We evaluate the model on three downstream tasks, including relation classification, entity typing, and question answering. Results show that our model achieves state-of-the-art performance on six public benchmark datasets. We have two major findings. First, we demonstrate that infusing automatically produced syntax of text improves pre-trained models. Second, global syntactic distances among tokens bring larger performance gains compared to local head relations between contiguous tokens. © 2021 Association for Computational Linguistics

Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is rapidly driving a new phase of artificial intelligence revolution, marked by various applications such as ChatGPT, Sora and DeepSeek. With powerful capabilities in content generation, personalization and user interaction, GenAI can drive significant enhancements in various mobile services to satisfy individual user preferences. Meanwhile, mobile services offer substantial support for accessibility, functionality and intelligence of GenAI applications. However, current research on integrating GenAI and mobile services remains nascent, lacking necessary theoretical and technical support. In this survey, we break down a new vision to guide research on integrating GenAI and mobile services, aiming to improve 6G intelligence levels and enable 6G mobile networks to support the integration of GenAI and mobile services effectively. We begin by examining the necessity of integrating GenAI with 6G mobile services and exploring potential learning architectures of GenAI models within mobile networks. Next, we analyze potential solutions from two perspectives: how 6G mobile networks empower GenAI and how GenAI enables mobile services. We subsequently explore a promising use case, along with essential features and techniques, to facilitate the integration of GenAI and mobile services. Finally, we discuss future research directions, aiming at realizing intelligent 6G networks. © 2015 IEEE.

Fast Latent Factor Analysis via a Fuzzy PID-Incorporated Stochastic Gradient Descent Algorithm

A high-dimensional and incomplete (HDI) matrix can describe the complex interactions among numerous nodes in various big data-related applications. A stochastic gradient descent (SGD)-based latent factor analysis (LFA) model is remarkably effective in extracting valuable information from an HDI matrix. However, such a model commonly encounters the problem of slow convergence because a standard SGD algorithm learns a latent factor relying on the stochastic gradient of current instance error only without considering past update information. To address this critical issue, this paper innovatively proposes a Fuzzy PID-incorporated SGD (FPS) algorithm with two-fold ideas: 1) rebuilding the instance learning error by considering the past update information in an efficient way following the principle of PID, and 2) implementing hyper-parameters and gain parameters adaptation following the fuzzy rules. With it, an FPS-incorporated LFA model is further achieved for fast processing an HDI matrix. Empirical studies on six HDI datasets demonstrate that the proposed FPS-incorporated LFA model significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art LFA models in terms of computational efficiency for predicting the missing data of an HDI matrix with competitive accuracy. Energy Efficient Offloading Policies in Multi-Access Edge computing Systems with Task Handover

The rapid growth of mobile devices and the increasing complexity of tasks have made energy efficiency a critical challenge in Multi-Access Edge computing (MEC) systems. This paper explores energy-efficient offloading strategies in large-scale MEC systems with heterogeneous mobile users, diverse network components, and frequent task handovers to capture user mobility. The problem is inherently complex due to the system’s scale, task and resource diversity, and the need to maintain real-time performance. Traditional optimization approaches are often computationally infeasible for such scenarios. To tackle these challenges, we model the offloading problem using the restless multi-armed bandit (RMAB) framework and develop two scalable online policies that prioritize resources based on their marginal costs. The proposed policies dynamically adapt to the system’s heterogeneity and mobility while ensuring near-optimal energy efficiency. Through extensive numerical simulations, we demonstrate that the policies significantly outperform baseline methods in power conservation and show robust performance under non-exponentially distributed task lifespans. Software reuse, as a means to develop new software products with similar functions by virtue of existing software components, has become a popular way during the software development process. In particular, as the service-oriented architecture became popular, web services turned into an indispensable part in modem software development Web services provide a basic composition with high cohesion and loose coupling to support responses among heterogeneous software components, which is the valuable resources for software reuse. The popular web service repositories, such as Programmable Web, contain a mass of web services for beginners and developers to choose from. Nevertheless, the large number of web services also makes it difficult to select the suitable services. Thus, the key to reuse software components lies in how to find appropriate web services from repositories to meet developers requirements in specific application scenarios.

Numerous reports have elucidated the importance of mechanical resonators comprising quantum-dot-embedded carbon nanotubes(CNTs)for studying the effects of single-electron ***,there is a need to investigate the single-electron transport that drives a large amplitude into a nonlinear ***,a CNT hybrid device has been investigated,which comprises a gate-defined quantum dot that is embedded into a mechanical resonator under strong actuation *** Coulomb peak positions synchronously oscillate with the mechanical vibrations,enabling a single-electron Chopper*1 ***,the vibration amplitude of the CNT versus its frequency can be directly visualized via detecting the time-averaged single-electron tunneling *** understand this phenomenon,a general formula is derived for this time-averaged single-electron tunneling current,which agrees well with the experimental *** using this visualization method,a variety of nonlinear motions of a CNT mechanical oscillator have been directly recorded,such as Duffing nonlinearity,parametric resonance,and double-,fractional-,mixed-frequency *** approach opens up burgeoning opportunities for investigating and understanding the nonlinear motion of a nanomechanical system and its interactions with electron transport in quantum regimes.

Most of existing neural methods for multi-objective combinatorial optimization (MOCO) problems solely rely on decomposition, which often leads to repetitive solutions for the respective subproblems, thus a limited Pareto set. Beyond decomposition, we propose a novel neural heuristic with diversity enhancement (NHDE) to produce more Pareto solutions from two perspectives. On the one hand, to hinder duplicated solutions for different subproblems, we propose an indicator-enhanced deep reinforcement learning method to guide the model, and design a heterogeneous graph attention mechanism to capture the relations between the instance graph and the Pareto front graph. On the other hand, to excavate more solutions in the neighborhood of each subproblem, we present a multiple Pareto optima strategy to sample and preserve desirable solutions. Experimental results on classic MOCO problems show that our NHDE is able to generate a Pareto front with higher diversity, thereby achieving superior overall performance. Moreover, our NHDE is generic and can be applied to different neural methods for MOCO.
