Along with the application and popularity of transportation information grid system, users become more and more, original configuration can't meet actual demand. In this paper we establish timed colored Petri net process model for service On Demand process, which is one of the main service provided by the system. Through simulating increasing users and the amount of processes waiting for service On Demand request, we analysis request response time change, and provide beneficial reference for extension of system configuration. © 2012 IEEE.

Developing service discovery, information retrieval and context-aware to adapt to user everywhere/anytime and attain the ambient intelligence arise the issue of handling misclassification, imperfect reasoning and estimation with respect to the current context. To deal with this issue, we propose the use of Fuzzy set theory with the purpose of inferring and reasoning that adopt fuzzy lattice classifier for decision making. It is applied on top of SOIM framework to increase the accuracy of the classification process with clearer decisions. © 2012 IEEE.

To minimize Rate-Distortion (RD) cost in video coding, RD Optimization (RDO) technique is adopted, which also brings increasingly computational complexity in Motion Estimation (ME), multiple reference selection and mode decision. In this paper, a Gaussian model based adaptive RD cost prediction method is developed to jointly speed up multiple reference selection and inter-mode decision. Besides the ability of achieving good coding efficiency with much reduced computational power, our method is also with two major advantages. First, it can achieve robust performance, including computational complexity reduction and almost intact video quality, with a wide range of video sequences resolutions and even for various scene changes;second, it could be either individually used or combined with the other efficient mode decision algorithms, and in both cases, our method could achieve remarkable performance, which is revealed by exhaustive experimental results. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

This paper aims to construct and analyze an original logical difference based on the quantitative approximation operators. According to the variable precision lower approximation operator and graded upper approximation operator, we first put forward the specific logical difference;the new concept makes the specific logical combination on precision and grade, and has the practical multiple quantitative meaning. Then, both the fundamental structure and properties are investigated and obtained for the logical difference. Furthermore, two algorithms, the regular and structural algorithms, are proposed and analyzed, and the structural algorithm has more advantages. Finally, an example is provided. The proposed concept partially extends the graded and classical approximation operators;thus, some properties are achieved correspondingly for these previous approximation operators. © 2012 IEEE.

With the rapid development of service-oriented computing (SOC) and service-oriented architecture (SOA), the number of services is rapidly increasing. How to organize and manage services effectively in repositories to improve the efficiency of service discovery and composition is important. This paper proposes three categorization rules to classify services for a large scale repository to form a relational taxonomy. The service retrieve scope can be drastically narrowed by this taxonomy. Therefore, the efficiency of service discovery and service composition can be greatly improved. We evaluate and compare the performance of the proposed method and other related ones via a publicly available test set, ICEBE05. The experimental results validate the effectiveness and high efficiency of the proposed one. © 2012 IEEE.

Grade serves as a fundamental quantitative index, and the graded rough set model is a basic model. Thus, this paper aims to investigate an original logical difference in the graded rough set model. According to the specific logical requirement on the grade index, the logical difference is put forward based on the graded lower and upper approximation operators;the new concept has the practical logical quantitative meaning. Then, both the macroscopic essence and microscopic fundamental structure are obtained for the new concept. For calculation, two algorithms, the conventional and microscopic algorithms are proposed and analyzed emphatically, and we conclude that the microscopic algorithm has more advantages in time and space complexity. Finally, the logical difference and its algorithms are both illustrated by an example. © 2012 IEEE.

Transactional and QoS-aware selection algorithm for reliable Web service composition

At present, most of the work has focused on Web services composition from the QoS side, little work being done on investigating how to implement service selection based on transactional and QoS requirements. In complicated network environment, composite services need transactional support for correct and reliable execution. Therefore, How to design a composite service to ensure not only correct and reliable execution but also optimal QoS is a challenging issue. This paper addresses the problem of selecting services by aggregating the transactional and QoS requirements. First, we presented global optimization selection algorithms based on two selection models of composite service with transactional requirements. Then, a heuristic selection algorithm is presented to select an approximately optimal transactional composite service within a reasonable time. Lastly, experiments are conducted to analyze the performance of our proposed algorithms. © 2012 Binary Information Press.

Booming development in brain science injects new vitality into the reform of teaching methods. Based on the perspective of brain cognition, this article addresses the optimum state for classroom learning- the relaxed alertness. This is a good state of mind combined low threats with high challenges. Specially, the vigilance is estimated by extracting useful electroencephalogram (EEG) information in time-domain, frequency-domain and spatial distribution. It is used as an indicator to judge whether a student is in the optimum state. Focusing on how to achieve that ideal state, this article discusses some new teaching methods, including the use of Baroque music to stimulate alpha brainwave, the design of effective pattern of guiding class to arouse positive emotions of students and the conversion of teaching forms as novel stimuli to heip them improve vigilance and tide over thinking trough. The effectiveness of these methods is verified by the relevant experimental results.

Sensor nodes in wireless networks often use batteries as their source of energy, but replacing or recharging exhausted batteries in a deployed network can be difficult and costly. Therefore, prolonging battery life becomes a principal objective in the design of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). There is little published data that quantitatively analyze a sensor node's lifetime under different operating conditions. This paper presents several experiments to quantify the impact of key wireless sensor network design and environmental parameters on battery performance. Our testbed consists of MicaZ motes, commercial alkaline batteries, and a suite of techniques for measuring battery performance. We evaluate known parameters, such as communication distance, working channel and operating power that play key roles in battery performance. Through extensive real battery discharge measurements, we expect our results to serve as a quantitative basis for future research in designing and implementing battery-efficient sensing applications and protocols. © 2012 IEEE.

This work presents an iterative liveness-enforcing method for a class of generalized Petri nets, which can model flexible manufacturing systems. The proposed method checks the liveness of net models using mixed integer programming and controls the token allocations of resource places instead of siphons using a liveness and resource usage ratio-enforcing supervisor. The enumeration of a kind of special structures, which is required in the previous work, is avoided and the number of iterations is bounded by the number of shared resource places in the net model. All strict minimal siphons in the controlled systems are minimally controlled. Several explanatory examples are used to illustrate this method. © 2012 IEEE.
