In this paper, a bearing-based containment control problem of multi-agent systems with disturbances is studied. The nonlinearity of the bearing results in the existence of nonlinear time-varying parameters in the closed-loop system. When the leaders are stationary, under the sufficient conditions on the disturbances and the connectivity of the directed sensing graph, the boundedness of the nonlinear time-varying parameters is rigorously proved, with which it is shown that the containment error converges to zero asymptotically. When the leaders are moving, by using the properties of the bearing and the projection, it is proved that the containment error is uniformly ultimately bounded and can be reduced by adjusting the edge weight. Both coordination, a behavioral pattern where individuals adopt the same behavior as the majority, and anticoordination, a behavioral pattern where individuals choose a behavior different from the majority, are prevalent in social and engineering scenarios. Examples include the spread of social norms or innovations for coordination and the division of labor and traffic congestion for anti-coordination. Exploring the large-scale interacting systems driven by coordination and anticoordination is of great significance in understanding, predicting, and optimizing the evolutionary outcomes. While existing studies have primarily focused on analyzing the convergence of networked systems and evaluating the time to reach equilibrium, our investigation delves into all possible states of a networked system and scrutinizes all equilibrium states. Notably, we observe that the number of equilibrium states increases exponentially with the network size. Accounting for network structure properties, homogeneous networks exhibit more equilibrium states than heterogeneous networks. Furthermore, for specific behavioral switching thresholds, the number of equilibrium states is surprisingly higher than at neighboring switching thresholds. Our work reveals the intricate interplay between evolutionary dynamics, system structure, and behavioral switching thresholds. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

In industrial sites, multiple real-time control systems often share computing resources. However, burst computing tasks may lead to the random dropping of control computing subtasks, resulting in control failures and potential hazards. To address this issue, we propose an energy-efficient safety-aware task scheduling scheme based on mixed-integer programming. When burst computing tasks are triggered, this scheduling scheme adaptively releases resources from low-criticality control computing subtasks and adjusts the processor speed based on the dynamic voltage and frequency scaling technology (DVFS), ensuring the timely completion of burst computing tasks and keeping the control system state deviation within a safe threshold. To achieve the scheduling scheme, we propose an efficient algorithm called EESASA. Simulation results show that EESASA can minimize the overall cost of control and processor energy while ensuring the safety of the control system and the timely completion of burst computing tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper investigates the problems of H8 consensus control for high-order fully actuated multi-agent systems (HOFAMASs) with external disturbances. By utilizing the characteristics of high-order fully actuated systems (HOFASs), the distributed control protocols are designed, eliminating all nonlinear characteristics of open loop systems while establishing new closed-loop dynamic characteristics. Then, the H8 consensus problems of HOFAMASs are addressed. The corresponding parameters to be designed in the distributed control protocols are given by using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A novel multi-spacecraft attitude model is proposed based on HOFASs. An illustrative example of the multi-spacecraft attitude model is given, in order to demonstrate the effectiveness and application of the results proposed in this paper. © 2024 IEEE.

Semi-supervised learning (SSL) is a successful paradigm that can use unlabelled data to alleviate the labelling cost problem in supervised learning. However, the excellent performance brought by SSL does not transfer well to the task of class imbalance. The reason is that the class bias of pseudo-labelling further misleads the decision boundary. To solve this problem, we propose a new plug-and-play approach to handle the class imbalance problem based on a theoretical extension and analysis of distribution alignment. The method, called Basis Transformation Based Distribution Alignment (BTDA), efficiently aligns class distributions while taking into account inter-class *** implements the basis transformation through a learnable transfer matrix, thereby reducing the performance loss caused by pseudo-labelling biases. Extensive experiments show that our proposed BTDA approach can significantly improve performance in class imbalance tasks in terms of both accuracy and recall metrics when integrated with advanced SSL algorithms. Although the idea of BTDA is not complex, it can show advanced performance on datasets such as CIFAR and SVHN. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

At present, inversing wind vector from aircraft trajectory captured by automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) is one of the main solutions to obtain wind field in aviation meteorology. However, some algorithms in this scheme still have some shortcomings, especially the poor performance when the aircraft turns at a small angle. In this paper, the geometric structure of ADS-B data is used to improve particle swarm optimized particle filter algorithm (PSO-PF) to inverse wind vectors in small area of single aircraft data and large area of multi-aircraft data respectively. The mean absolute error of wind estimation under different turning angles is evaluated. Experimental results show that the algorithm is feasible, and it still has a good inversion effect when the aircraft turns at a small angle. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Establishing dense correspondences between semantically similar images is a challenging task. Cost aggregation is a crucial step in finding correct dense correspondences, with the goal of optimizing the initial correlation map thereby removing the ambiguity of the correspondences. Current approaches use transformer architectures for cost aggregation, which lack local priors to adequately capture the local information contained in the correlation map. We propose to incorporate peripheral position coding into the transformer to explore the local information to obtain the matching set and call it the Peripheral Transformer Matcher (PTM). This coding technique partitions the overall receptive field of the self-attention mechanism into diverse peripheral regions, each with its own set of weights. By doing this, the proposed PTM gets a specific local prior by adding an inductive bias to the transformer models and making the initial correlation map less confusing. In addition, a local self-attention module is used to enhance the image features and obtain an enhanced initial correlation map. Comparisons of the experimental results with baselines on public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed PTM. © 2023 IEEE.

Large-scale multiobjective optimization problems (LSMOPs) exist widely in real-world applications. The large number of decision variables in LSMOP leads to a tremendous high-dimensional search space, which is still challenging for existing multiobjective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs). The voltage transformer ratio error estimation (TREE) problem is a typical LSMOP in real-world applications. A number of large-scale multiobjective evolutionary algorithms (LSMOEAs) have been adopted for solving the TREE problem, but so far there is still considerable potential for improvement in their results. In this paper, we propose a informed initialization for solving the TREE problem. The physical properties of the TREE problem are used to construct an initial set of solutions with specific characteristics. The proposed initialization method is tested against the default initialization method on five TREE problems by being applied on six state-of-the-art LSMOEAs and a classical MOEA. The experimental results demonstrate that the initialization method has a significant effect on the performance of LSMOEAs in solving the TREE problems. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Semantic Segmentation is the foundation of scene understanding and automatic driving tasks. One of the challenges of semantic segmentation is the reduction of feature resolution as the network goes deep. In this paper, the low-resolution features are integrated into high-resolution features progressively, enabling high-resolution prediction. Currently, incorporating the auxiliary depth information into a semantic segmentation framework has proven to be helpful to improve accuracy. However, additional process of depth data immensely increases computational complexity, resulting in limitation for practical application. Here, a real-time bimodal semantic segmentation network that effectively extracts and fuses complementary information is investigated. Our network extends a light-weight architecture which can seamlessly take advantage of various prevalent backbone networks. Our model extracts RGB and depth features from two branches in parallel and integrates multi-level features of two modalities through bimodal feature fusion blocks. To reduce computation complexity, we employ depth-wise separable convolution while keep performance intact. Meanwhile, an attention mechanism is exploited to recalibrate the fusion modality features adaptively. Refinement components are retained to refine multi-resolution feature maps. We conduct ablative study to demonstrate the availability of our bimodal fusion blocks. Comprehensive experiments validate that the proposed network outperforms the state-of-the-arts and achieves 18 FPS on the challenging RGB-D dataset, NYUDv2. © 2022 IEEE.
