An efficient image denoising algorithm is introduced. Firstly, image pixels are classified into noisy pixels and noise-free pixels by four directional operators. Then an adaptive weighted median filter is designed to remove and restore the detected noisy pixels and keep the noise-free ones unchanged. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm preserves image details well while removing impulsive noise efficiently, and its filtering performance is significantly superior to the classical median filter and some other typical and recently developed improved median filters.

A transient, six-cylinder diesel engine model for cold test has been developed for analyzing the engine fault through the engine torque curve. The model is based on physically working cycle, thermodynamic theory and dynamics mechanism. The simulation of this model, implemented on Matlab/Simulink, can not only achieve engine faults detection before hot test, but also indicate different causes of engine faults, such as initial phase change, intake valve closing-time delay, and so on. It is shown that the diesel engine model for cold test proves its significance to improving cold test technology.

To control the mobile robot with the surrounding information is the essential method to realize the intelligence and automatic moving. The vision information is the most important way to perceive the environment for the mobile robot. This paper presents an essential camera calibration technique for mobile robot, which is based on Pioneer II experiment platform. The technique includes transformation of coordinates system for vision system, the model and principle of image formation, camera distortion calibration. Because of non-linear distortion of camera, algorithm with optimizing operators is presented to improve calibration precision. We verify the validity and feasibility of the algorithm through experiment.

A novel way achieving geometrical reconstruction of actual human face through projecting two types of texture on face in short time is advanced. The first type texture is stripe which is used to establish parallax grid between images. Taking into account of its results, the second type projecting texture is used to match by virtue of its abundant traits. After realizing geometrical reconstruction, the paper provides a general way about achieving actual texture reconstruction by the outer spherical surface surrounding object. In order to uniform color, it deals with parts of images in conjunct region and makes the color change meeting a certain function on condition of keeping their original information mostly. Results show this way can improve reconstruction quality and decrease complicacy of algorithm.

Multi-robot tracking of mobile target is studied in the paper, which is based on the communication and sensors. For an independent tracking robot, the processes are separated into three layers and four tasks, and allocated to different robots for distinct roles in tracking, which is named the Distributed Decision control System (DDCS). After that, two tracking models, centralized and distributed models, are designed for multi-robot tracking. Furthermore, a Proportional Navigation Guidance Law (PNGL) and l-ϕ formation control algorithm are mentioned to realize the robot motion control. At last the simulation has shown the feasibility and validity of both models.

In this paper, we presented a ringing metric to evaluate the quality of images restored using iterative image restoration algorithms. A ringing metrics is used to assessment the restored images based on the Gabor filter. The experimental results validate the proposed method perform well over a wide range of restoration image ringing levels assessment. And the proposed model has given good agreement with observer ratings obtained in subjective experiments.

Combining bottom-up and top-down attention influences, a novel region extraction model which based on object-accumulated visual attention mechanism is proposed in this paper. Compared with early research, the new approach brings in prior information at the proper time, updates scan path dynamically, needs less computational resources and reduces the probability to direct the attention to a less-meaning area. The application to search an airport target in remote sensing image was provided, through which the novel mechanism that how visual attention chose the area was described. Compared with another two region extraction models, experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the approach proposed in this paper.

DNA tile self-assembly has been proved to enable programmable manipulation of biological systems as a tool of molecular computation. It is mainly based on the property that is the spontaneous self-ordering of substructure into superstructure driven by annealing of Watson-Crick base-pairing DNA sequences. We take full advantage of the superiority of DNA tile self-assembly to construct a molecular computing system that implements a solution for the 0-1 planning problem. This algorithm can independently and simultaneously yield the data pool, containing all possible solutions when all basic operation tiles are designed beforehand. Then we can use some advanced bio-chemistry techniques to select the optimization solutions of the 0-1 planning problem. Our work has shown that it is possible to work with an exponential number of components to solve NP-complete problems. The method proposed here also can reduce the number of laboratory steps required for computation so that it can improve the computation speed.

DNA tile self-assembly is a promising paradigm for nanotechnology. Recently, many researches show that computation by DNA tile self-assembly maybe scalable. In this paper, we propose the algorithm for elliptic curve Diffie-Hellman key exchange based on DNA tile self-assembly. First we give the DNA tile self-assembly model to compute the scalar multiplication, then we can successfully implement the Diffie-Hellman key exchange over elliptic curve by extracting the result strand of the scalar multiplication.
