When a large number of distributed power and renewable energy are connected to the smart grid,the volatility and intermittency of renewable energy bring some challenges to the smart ***,accurate medium-term load forecasting is essential because it is conducive to the stability of the power grid and can provide data support for the power generating *** factors affect medium-term load forecasting and the real-time electricity price is a very important factor among *** this paper,a multi-scale model based on LSTM model is proposed to extracts features from 3 different time scales including half-hourly time scale,daily time scale and monthly time *** first,the half-hourly data is processed by a half-hourly data processing layer to extract the half-hourly ***,its output is concatenated with the daily load data and is input into a daily data processing ***,the daily features are concatenated with the monthly load data and they are input into a monthly data processing layer to extract the monthly features and get the final forecasting *** case study results demonstrate that the proposed multi-scale model has better performance than the single-scale models.

This paper investigates leaderless consensus (LLC) and leader-follower consensus (LFC) issues of multiple Euler-Lagrange systems (MELSs) with uncertain system parameters and input disturbances. Firstly, by utilizing event-based control strategy, event-based consensus protocols are proposed to achieve LLC and LFC, respectively. Then, to confirm that no Euler-Lagrange (EL) system will exhibit Zeno behavior under the above event-based consensus protocols, we show that the low bound of event-triggering interval is strictly positive for any time instants. Distinct with the existing related works, the proposed event-triggered consensus protocols only rely on local sampled state, and are irrelevant to the system parameters. Finally, some simulation examples are presented to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed event-based consensus algorithms. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.

We show that crowd counting can be viewed as a decomposable point querying process. This formulation enables arbitrary points as input and jointly reasons whether the points are crowd and where they locate. The querying processing, however, raises an underlying problem on the number of necessary querying points. Too few imply underestimation; too many increase computational overhead. To address this dilemma, we introduce a decomposable structure, i.e., the point-query quadtree, and propose a new counting model, termed Point quEry Transformer (PET). PET implements decomposable point querying via data-dependent quadtree splitting, where each querying point could split into four new points when necessary, thus enabling dynamic processing of sparse and dense regions. Such a querying process yields an intuitive, universal modeling of crowd as both the input and output are interpretable and steerable. We demonstrate the applications of PET on a number of crowd-related tasks, including fully-supervised crowd counting and localization, partial annotation learning, and point annotation refinement, and also report state-of-the-art performance. For the first time, we show that a single counting model can address multiple crowd-related tasks across different learning paradigms. Code is available at https://***/cxliu0/PET.

A growing number of works have investigated inferring the topology of networked dynamical systems from observations, such as to better understand the system behaviour. Despite the tremendous advances, most of them require the observations to be abundant. This paper focuses on inferring the topology by injecting single excitation on a node and collecting several steps of noisy observations. The problem is challenging because the noises cannot be depressed in several observations and are mixed with the injected excitation, making it hard to directly reveal the topology. To practice, we develop a probabilistic method based on the hypothesis test framework. First, we infer the neighbors that are within h-hop of the excited node and derive the accuracy guarantees. Then, we extend the method to infer the exact h-hop neighbors. A computable lower bound for the accuracy probability is established to provide confidence support in the inference procedures. Furthermore, we give the conditions of excitation input to ensure a desired inference probability, which provides guidance for the input design. Numerical simulations are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Medical Body Area Networks (MBANs) increasingly utilize wireless communication technologies to enhance the freedom and convenience for patients and caregivers. Currently, radio frequency (RF) is the prevalent medium in healthcare applications;however, the potential for electromagnetic interference with precision medical equipment remains a concern. This study introduces a novel design and implementation of a medical healthcare information system using the newly developed Wireless Visible Light Communication (VLC) technology, also known as Light Fidelity (Li-Fi). Visible Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), expected to soon surpass traditional incandescent and fluorescent bulbs as the primary light source due to their energy efficiency, facilitate this technology. In this research, patient health is monitored using sensors, with results displayed on an LCD. An LED lightbulb transmits the data as light signals, which are captured by a photo-detector at the receiver's end. This setup not only displays the output on an LCD but also alerts caregivers through an auditory signal, beeping every 15 seconds for respiration and every 30 seconds for heart rate monitoring. Moreover, these lighting fixtures serve dual functions: illumination and wireless data transmission, using the rapid switching capability of LEDs. This prototype VLC-based system offers a promising alternative for data services and monitoring in hospital areas where RF use is restricted. © 2024 IEEE.

Due to the continuous growth in steel market demand and the shift towards small batches and multiple varieties, efficient storage management has become a key factor in increasing the profitability of logistics parks. However, the current storage methods, due to the unreasonable allocation of stack positions, still result in energy waste during the dispatch phase and the need for trucks to pick up goods across multiple yards. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a comprehensive optimization scheme to reduce truck transfers and energy consumption in steel product dispatch. First, we constructed an optimization problem model that integrates the spatial layout of the logistics park and order data, aiming to maximize the correlation between steel products within the same yard and reduce the total energy consumption during the dispatch phase. Subsequently, a new algorithm called Enhanced Greedy and Tabu-Assisted Adaptive Large Neighborhood Search (EGTA-ALNS) is introduced. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing ones in terms of solving speed and scale. It effectively optimizes energy consumption during steel dispatch and reduces the number of truck transfers. © 2024 IEEE.

Early fire detection is very important for preventing forest fires. In this paper, a new image-based fire detection algorithm, named as h-EfflcientDet, is proposed to complete the task of early forest fire detection. h-EfflcientDet is based on a popular deep learning approach EfficientDet (scalable and efficient object detection) by replacing the nonlinear activation function swish of the EfficientDet with the hard version of swish and combing also with an efficient feature fusion network BIFPN (bidirectional feature pyramid network), which can improve significantly the efficiency of the fire detection model. The experiment results show that the proposed h-EfficientDet can detect the fire in real-time with the detection speed of 21 FPS. The detection accuracy is up to 98.35% with a low miss detection rate. © 2021 IEEE.

Steel plate is a highly customized product, and steel plates from the same order may be stored in different stacks. However, during the outbound process, the steel plates of the next order can only be dispatched from the warehouse once all plates from the preceding order have been fully completed. In this case, the outbound scheduling of steel plates is a challenging problem since its efficiency and complexity are affected by the shuffling of steel plates. In order to address the challenge, this paper formulates the steel plate outbound scheduling as a dynamic programming model with the aim of minimizing the crane operation time. To solve the problem, an decision tree-based backtracking search algorithm (DTBSA) is developed, in which the search tree is pruned through lower bound functions and dominance rules, so as to reduce the search range of the solution space. Experimental results prove that the proposed method can obtain optimal scheduling results within a reasonable time range. © 2024 IEEE.

Aims: The paper is concerned with the problem of robust H∞ output feedback control for photovoltaic nonlinear system. Background: The PV systems are built to transform sun irradiance into electrical power. The dc-dc converters, such as buck type, boost type, and buck-boost type, have been widely implemented in the PV systems. Linear controllers for dc-dc converters are often designed based on mathematical models. To get a desired performance objective, an accurate model is essential. Objective: There has been increasing interest in the scheme of digital controller design for dc-dc converters. However, most of the research efforts are focused on the representation based on the standard forward-shift operator approach, which are of inherently ill-conditioned when datum are taken at high sampling rates. Compared with the forward-shift operator, the delta operator has many virtues which can be applied as a better representation of the underlying physical model under high sampling rates. Despite the delta operator possessing the superior high sample rate performance has been recognized in the past two decades, there exists little literature discussing the analysis and syn-thesis of photovoltaic nonlinear systems by using delta operator fuzzy control method, which moti-vates us to make an effort in this topic. Methods: We propose a Fuzzy Dynamic Output Feedback (FDOF) controller, and introduce a novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii Functional (LKF) in delta domain, the framework of robust H∞ output feedback control is investigated. Results: Sufficient conditions are derived for the existence of the desired FDOF controllers in terms of Linear-Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). A numerical example is used to illustrate the design procedure of the present method. Conclusion: This paper has studied the problems of robust H∞ output feedback control for photo-voltaic nonlinear system with interval time-varying delay and parametric uncertainties. Edge-Assisted Flexible Platooning of Connected and Automated Vehicles Under Traffic Anomaly

The platooning of connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) has the great potential to significantly improve travel experience in terms of safety, comfortableness, and energy efficiency. However, constrained by sensing range and prediction accuracy, the performance of CAV platoon can not be guaranteed in the scenario of mixed traffic consisting of CAVs and human-driven vehicles (HDVs). This is not only due to the uncertainty of HDVs but also related to the occurrence of various traffic anomalies, such as emergency braking and accidents. In this paper, we aim to investigate an efficient control strategy to guarantee the operation of the platoon in mixed traffic, especially in the case of traffic anomalies. To tackle the problem, an edge-assisted platoon control strategy, called E-CACC, is proposed. First, an error-aware flexible tracking policy is designed to adapt to HDV uncertainties and speed prediction errors. Based on the tracking policy, a zone model predictive control (ZMPC) method is then designed to guarantee travel safety and avoid undesired acceleration. Further, a coordination strategy of CAV platoon and roadside unit (RSU) is proposed to prevent the platoon from potential collision in the case of traffic anomalies, where an event-based communication trigger is designed to determine whether and when the platoon establishes communication links with RSU to acquire exogenous sensing data of anomaly segment. Finally, the evaluation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in improving travel safety and comfortableness. © 1967-2012 IEEE.
