Soil erosion is one of the main environmental problems in the world. In this paper, the Minjiang river basin was taken as the research area. Based on the land use map, a comprehensive soil erosion modulus map is generated by referring to the soil erosion evaluation index and the revised soil loss equation (RUSLE). The results showed that the Minjiang river basin was dominated by mild erosion and moderate erosion, accounting for 41.50% and 54.81% of the total basin area, respectively, and the high erosion accounted for only 3.69%. The soil erosion intensity of each land use type was unused land > garden land > cultivated land > forest land > water body > construction land. By discussing the sensitivity evaluation of soil erosion in Minjiang river basin, this paper provides a reference for relevant departments to provide soil and water conservation work in Minjiang river basin. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper studies the consensus problem of linear multi-agent systems (MASs) with relative output measurement on undirected graphs. Output-feedback protocols are designed for both leaderless and leader-follower consensus. Different from [1], dynamic event-triggered sampling strategies are integrated to reduce the communication burdens between agents. Compared with most of the existing results which are based absolute output, the proposed protocols are based on sampled relative output. Finally, a simulation example is provided to illustrate the theoretical results.

As very important controllers in automated facto-ries, the correctness and safety of Programmable Logic controller (PLC) and their programs determine the stability of the production process. Structured Text (ST) is one of the most widely used PLC programming languages. However, there are not enough formal semantics and different venders may have their own implementations. In this work, a visual executable semantic model ST-Petri for ST has been proposed. The model uses Petri nets to formally represent ST semantics while using graphs to visualise program control flow. To validate the correctness of the semantic model, we use programs from Github and mutations of existing source programs as a test set to execute and compare the results with the open source OpenPLC platform. Experimental results show that ST-Petri has significant advantages in terms of compilation pass rate and error indication as a semantic model and a ST program compiler.

With the rapid development of smart manufacturing, existing microservice deployment strategies based on the TCP protocol tend to encounter problems such as network latency, excessive header length, and port exhaustion in high concurrency scenarios. MQTT Broker can relay data between microservices, effectively alleviating these issues. However, the communication overhead of the Broker is significantly related to its deployment and the dependency of microservices. An appropriate deployment solution can significantly improve service quality. To address this issue, this paper models the deployment of MQTT Broker and microservices as a graph with cycles. By introducing auxiliary variables, the NP-hard problem is transformed into a mixed-integer quadratic programming problem, improving problem-solving efficiency and optimizing the microservices deployment strategy to reduce communication overhead. Meanwhile, a real-world heterogeneous cluster was constructed to experiment on fault detection applications, elaborating on the superiority of the microservice deployment strategy designed in this paper. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach reduces communication overhead by 20% in comparison to both the greedy strategy and the K8s strategy. This suggests that achieving an optimal balance between the number of Brokers and microservices is vital for ensuring efficient resource utilization and maintaining low communication latency, particularly as the scale of services expands.

With the rapid development of smart agriculture, the demand for pig monitoring has been increasing, particularly in disease prevention and behavioral analysis. Real-time monitoring of pig behavior is essential for improving farming efficiency and ensuring animal welfare. However, challenges such as pigs’ varying body sizes, movement, and complex environments make accurate detection and tracking difficult. To address these issues, this paper proposes an improved YOLOv5 model, named PLM-YOLOv5, specifically designed for pig detection in livestock monitoring. First, we add an additional detection head to enhance the model’s capability to detect smaller pigs effectively. Next, we integrate the Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) to enhance feature extraction, particularly in handling complex backgrounds. Finally, we utilize a self-collected dataset of over 1,400 images for model training and validation, ensuring the model adapts to real-world livestock environments. Experimental results show that PLM-YOLOv5 achieves significant improvements in pig detection tasks, with the mean Average Precision (mAP) increasing by approximately 9% compared to the original YOLOv5. Additionally, training and validation loss curves demonstrate the model's stability and convergence. These results confirm the effectiveness and reliability of PLM-YOLOv5 for real-world applications, offering a robust solution for smart agriculture.

We investigate the consensus problem of multi-agent systems with linear dynamics via a fully distributed event-triggered approach. To solve this problem, we present a fully distributed control strategy with an innovative event-triggered mechanism, where a clock variable is introduced to guarantee the existence of strictly positive minimum inter-event times (MIETs). Compared with existing results, the proposed event-triggered mechanism provides more flexibility for the clock variable, improving inter-event times. A positive lower bound of MIETs is derived, and is shown to be larger than those in previous works. The main results are illustrated with a numerical example.

Accurate and automated gland segmentation on pathological images can assist pathologists in diagnosing the malignancy of colorectal adenocarcinoma. However, due to various gland shapes, severe deformation of malignant glands, and overlapping adhesions between glands. Gland segmentation has always been very challenging. To address these problems, we propose a DEA model. This model consists of two branches: the backbone encoding and decoding network and the local semantic extraction network. The backbone encoding and decoding network extracts advanced Semantic features, uses the proposed feature decoder to restore feature space information, and then enhances the boundary features of the gland through boundary enhancement attention. The local semantic extraction network uses the pre-trained DeepLabv3+ as a Local semantic-guided encoder to realize the extraction of edge features. Experimental results on two public datasets, GlaS and CRAG, confirm that the performance of our method is better than other gland segmentation methods.

In industrial sites, multiple real-time control systems often share computing resources. However, burst computing tasks may lead to the random dropping of control computing subtasks, resulting in control failures and potential hazards. To address this issue, we propose an energy-efficient safety-aware task scheduling scheme based on mixed-integer programming. When burst computing tasks are triggered, this scheduling scheme adaptively releases resources from low-criticality control computing sub tasks and adjusts the processor speed based on the dynamic voltage and frequency scaling technology (DVFS), ensuring the timely completion of burst computing tasks and keeping the control system state deviation within a safe threshold. To achieve the scheduling scheme, we propose an efficient algorithm called EESASA. Simulation results show that EESASA can minimize the overall cost of control and processor energy while ensuring the safety of the control system and the timely completion of burst computing tasks.

This paper investigates the problems of H ∞ consensus control for high-order fully actuated multi-agent systems (HOFAMASs) with external disturbances. By utilizing the characteristics of high-order fully actuated systems (HOFASs), the distributed control protocols are designed, eliminating all nonlinear characteristics of open loop systems while establishing new closed-loop dynamic characteristics. Then, the H ∞ consensus problems of HOFAMASs are addressed. The corresponding parameters to be designed in the distributed control protocols are given by using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A novel multi-spacecraft attitude model is proposed based on HOFASs. An illustrative example of the multi-spacecraft attitude model is given, in order to demonstrate the effectiveness and application of the results proposed in this paper.

Wireless/wired integrated transmission for industrial cyber-physical systems: risk-sensitive co-design of 5G and TSN protocols

The growing popularity of intelligent manufacturing is driven by deterministic transmission demands of applications in industrial cyber-physical systems(ICPS). However, the ossified shortages of industrial wireless communication such as diverse quality of service(Qo S) and complex signaling processes incur a severe long tail of transmission delay distribution. As a solution, the 5 th generation(5 G) wireless communication technology provides ultra-reliable and low-latency communication(URLLC) for industry scenarios. Moreover, the newly proposed time-sensitive networking(TSN) standards guarantee the transmission determinacy by gate mechanism. In this paper, we propose a heterogeneous time-sensitive network(HTSN) co-designed by 5 G and TSN. We first develop a predictive multi-priority wireless scheduling mechanism based on semi-persistent scheduling(SPS) to reduce signaling delay by reserving resources in *** we propose an adaptive data injection mechanism for TSN based on per-stream filtering and policing(PSFP), which dynamically adjusts the priority of data for queue injection in TSN. To further reduce the long tail of delay, we employ a risk-sensitive learning method to improve the worst-case delay. Simulations on a hot rolling production scenario demonstrate that the proposed mechanisms under HTSN achieve great performance in terms of integrated delay and resource utilization.
