It is challenging to capture a high-dynamic range (HDR) scene using a low-dynamic range (LDR) camera. This paper presents an approach for improving the dynamic range of cameras by using multiple exposure images of same scene taken under different exposure times. First, the camera response function (CRF) is recovered by solving a high-order polynomial in which only the ratios of the exposures are used. Then, the HDR radiance image is reconstructed by weighted summation of the each radiance maps. After that, a novel local tone mapping (TM) operator is proposed for the display of the HDR radiance image. By solving the high-order polynomial, the CRF can be recovered quickly and easily. Taken the local image feature and characteristic of histogram statics into consideration, the proposed TM operator could preserve the local details efficiently. Experimental result demonstrates the effectiveness of our method. By comparison, the method outperforms other methods in terms of imaging quality.

In this paper, we proposed a novel videometrics system application based on binocular stereovision. And we successfully measured three-dimensional(3D) deformation of the solar wings plane. Videometrics has its inherent advantages in solving these problems, which can provide a non-contact, automatic, dynamic and high precision measurement. This system mainly includes camera calibration module, image feature point matching module and 3D model display module. Camera calibration is a key technology of stereoscopic calibration. We applied Zhang Zhengyou new approach, which is widely used to calibrate the camera. For the image matching part, we used the correlation matching method and Ackerman Least Squares method, which can achieve accuracy of 1/10 or even 1/100 pixel. To further optimize the process, epipolar constraint was adopted. Two-dimensional search can be converted into a one-dimensional search, thereby highly reducing the matching computation. Moreover, 3D space measured results obtained in the target point test can be displayed in the system. With the target region segmentation statistics, the correct result is more vividly displayed and accurately measured. Based on the proposed method we have designed the measurement software and simulate the solar wings' s 3D deformation measurement experiment. The re-projection error for both of stereo cameras is no more than 0.2 pixel. The height difference of solar wings plane is 0.014 mm. The method proposed in this paper has significance both on the theory and application.

Quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization (QPSO) is an improved version of particle swarm optimization (PSO) and has shown superior performance on many optimization problems. But for now, it may not always satisfy the situations. Nowadays, problems become larger and more complex, and most serial optimization algorithms cannot deal with the problem or need plenty of computing cost. Fortunately, as an effective model in dealing with problems with big data which need huge computation, MapReduce has been widely used in many areas. In this paper, we implement QPSO on MapReduce model and propose MapReduce quantum-behaved particle swarm optimization (MRQPSO) which achieves parallel and distributed QPSO. Comparisons are made between MRQPSO and QPSO on some test problems and nonlinear equation systems. The results show that MRQPSO could complete computing task with less time. Meanwhile, from the view of optimization performance, MRQPSO outperforms QPSO in many cases.

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) offers an efficient evaluation over microstructure of white matter integrity. In this study, we aim to study the white matter tracts, which are associated with normal ageing. 42 healthy subjects were included, which is composed of two groups. One is young subjects (age = 22.29±1.35), and the other is elder (age = 63.71±2.00). Statistical analysis over FA was carried out by TBSS. We observed FA decreases significantly in several white matter tracts, including anterior thalamic radiation (ATR), cingulum (cingulate gyrus), corticospinal tract (CST), forceps minor, forceps major, inferior longitudinal fasciculus (ILF), superior longitudinal fasciculus (SLF). Most found all tracts were reported in past literatures. Nevertheless, we are the first to find the relationship between forceps major and ageing.

Generating computer animated flames is a difficult and computationally expensive problem. Dynamic textures provide an effective means for extrapolating and synthesizing dynamic flames, but aggravates color distortion due to the high correlation of RGB components. A novel method for dynamic flame texture synthesis using color temperature is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the colortemperature mapping is calculated by using the Planck's law and two-color pyrometric technique to avoid color distortion. Secondly, a novel dynamic texture model is presented to transform the RGB space into temperature space. Finally,the dynamic flames editing is presented to support physical temperature adjustment. Experimental results illustrate that our approach is effective to synthesize visually plausible dynamic flames without color distortions and to edit dynamic flames with intuitive physical interpretation.
