Automatic target detection (ATD) in infrared (IR) imagery is a fundamental and challenging task in computer vision. A fast automatic target detection method in IR image sequence is proposed in this paper. Since the position and scale of target change real-timely, we can predict the target position in real-time image by using the history position of target and flight parameters information of previous and current frames, and then estimate the scale of target depending on flight parameters and imaging parameters for getting the model with the appropriate scale. In order to make the template matching more robust for target rotation, the template matching method based on parametric template vector is used to recognize the position of target. The detection result is identified by using multi-frame integration based on recognition information of history and currant frames. Some experimental results using real-world images with complicated background validate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method under rotation and scale variance condition.

Raisins grade identification in China still relies on photoelectric sorting and manual separation, also, the function of management system for the production, processing, and sales of raisin is traditional and simple. This study presents a processing method on the basis of the Neural Network (NN) and image manipulation. Calculating the length of the long-short-axis, marking the location of it and calculated the 7 parameters, chroma, length, width and etc, and using boundary tracking algorithm, A BP NN was to build and identify the level of raisins through analysis of the external characteristics of raisins. The result of experiment indicates that average recognition rate is higher than 92%. This study took regional economy statistics of Pan Zhihua as an example, designed an system based on regional economy statistic and achieves the analytic function of regional economic statistics by utilizing distributed SAS /GIS to release the data, provide browsing, searching and analytic function of the space data for the users and accomplish data share. Therefore, the method has a great practical value, which can be applied to other. © Maxwell Scientific Organization, 2013.

The study provides a design scheme for the mountain landslide monitoring System based on wireless sensor networks. Different sensors are mainly used to collect data about the water depth in the soil and the sloping angel of the hillside in real-time. This paper presents a generic video vehicle detection approach through multiple background-based features and statistical learning. The main idea is to configure several virtual loops (as detection zones) on the image, assuming moving vehicles may cause pixel intensities and local texture to change, and then by identifying such pixel changes to detect vehicles. In this research, multiple pattern classifiers including LDA + Adaboost, SVM, and Random Forests are used to detect vehicles that are passing through virtual loops. We extract fourteen pattern features (related to foreground area, texture change, and luminance and contrast in the local virtual loop zone and the global image) to train pattern classifiers and then detect vehicles. As experimental results illustrate, the proposed approach is quite robust to detect vehicles under complex dynamic environments, and thus is able to improve the accuracy of traffic data collection in all weather for long term.

Training deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for airway segmentation is challenging due to the sparse supervisory signals caused by severe class imbalance between long, thin airways and background. In view of the intricate pattern of tree-like airways, the segmentation model should pay extra attention to the morphology and distribution characteristics of airways. We propose a CNNs-based airway segmentation method that enjoys superior sensitivity to tenuous peripheral bronchioles. We first present a feature recalibration module to make the best use of learned features. Spatial information of features is properly integrated to retain relative priority of activated regions, which benefits the subsequent channel-wise recalibration. Then, attention distillation module is introduced to reinforce the airway-specific representation learning. High-resolution attention maps with fine airway details are passing down from late layers to previous layers iteratively to enrich context knowledge. Extensive experiments demonstrate considerable performance gain brought by the two proposed modules. Compared with state-of-the-art methods, our method extracted much more branches while maintaining competitive overall segmentation performance. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

Stroke and heart attack, which could be led by a kind of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular disease named asatherosclerosis, would seriously cause human morbidity and mortality. And the carotid artery of intima-media thickness (IMT) is a key indicator to the disease. With the development of computer assisted diagnosis (CAD) technology, Ultrasound imaging, being real-time, economic, reliable, safe, and now seems to become a standard in vascular assessment methodology especially for the measurement of IMT. This review is an attempt to discuss the clinical relevance of measurements in clinical practice at first, and then followed by the challenges that one has to face when approaching the segmentation of ultrasound images. Secondly, the paper is presentation of common used methods for the IMT segmentation and measurement. An overview of summary and future perspectives is given in conclusion finally.

RECALL: A Benchmark for LLMs Robustness against External Counterfactual Knowledge

LLMs and AI chatbots have improved people\'s efficiency in various ***, the necessary knowledge for answering the question may be beyond themodels\' knowledge boundaries. To mitigate this issue, many researchers try tointroduce external knowledge, such as knowledge graphs and Internet contents,into LLMs for up-to-date information. However, the external information fromthe Internet may include counterfactual information that will confuse the modeland lead to an incorrect response. Thus there is a pressing need for LLMs topossess the ability to distinguish reliable information from externalknowledge. Therefore, to evaluate the ability of LLMs to discern thereliability of external knowledge, we create a benchmark from existingknowledge bases. Our benchmark consists of two tasks, Question Answering andText Generation, and for each task, we provide models with a context containingcounterfactual information. Evaluation results show that existing LLMs aresusceptible to interference from unreliable external knowledge withcounterfactual information, and simple intervention methods make limitedcontributions to the alleviation of this issue. © 2023, CC BY-NC-SA.

A hybrid method is used to evaluate atherosclerosis through a mathematical morphology approach and GVF-Snake method. Common carotid artery (CCA) segmentation requires outlining the intima and adventitia contours on the transverse view of B-mode ultrasound (US) images. The lumen and adventitia contours are segmented using a morphology and GVF-Snake methods, respectively. Upon analyzing ten separate patient data sets demonstrate that a comparison between the proposed method and the traditional approach (manual contouring) on 110 transverse images of the CCA showed a mean absolute distance (MAD) of 0.67±0.17mm for lumen and 0.64 ± 0.19mm for adventitia. Their Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) values are 92.7%±2.3% and 90.3%±3.5% for lumen and adventitia segmentation, respectively. These values are in good agreement with clinical standards.
