This paper presents a hybrid method for determination of continuous dielectric properties of clothing materials. The dielectric constant and loss tangent of three types of materials are firstly investigated using open-ended coaxial probe from 0.5 to 20 GHz. The average measured values are input into the CST simulation of two CPW lines to obtain the two-port S-parameters. Finally, more reasonable yet reliable results are obtained by using two retrieval algorithms (TRACE and ABCD) for validation and comparative purposes.

A General Constrained Adaptive Filtering (GCAF) algorithm is proposed via constructing a general and adaptive loss function to find out a solution of constraint optimizing problem. By selecting appropriate parameters, the GCAF algorithm can be utilized to approximate different adaptive algorithms and has higher performance than its approximated algorithms. The steady state mean squared-deviation of GCAF algorithm is derived and analyzed. Also, its complexity is presented. Simulation results demonstrated that the performance of devised GCAF method can outperform most of typically adaptive algorithms by choosing optimal parameters. © 2023, CC BY.

The power spectra estimated from the brain recordings are the mixed representation of aperiodic transient activity and periodic oscillations, i.e., aperiodic component (AC) and periodic component (PC). Quantitative neurophysiology requires precise decomposition preceding parameterizing each component. However, the shape, statistical distribution, scale, and mixing mechanism of AC and PCs are unclear, challenging the effectiveness of current popular parametric models such as FOOOF, IRASA, BOSC, etc. Here, was proposed to decompose the neural spectra by embedding the nonparametric spectra estimation with penalized Whittle likelihood and the shape language modeling into the expectation maximization framework. was validated on the synthesized spectra with loss statistics and on the sleep EEG and the large sample iEEG with evaluation metrics and neurophysiological evidence. Compared to FOOOF, both the simulation presenting shape irregularities and the batch simulation with multiple isolated peaks indicated that improved the fit of AC and PCs with less loss and higher F1-score in recognizing the centering frequencies and the number of peaks;the sleep EEG revealed that produced more distinguishable AC exponents and improved the sleep state classification accuracy;the iEEG showed that approached the clinical findings in peak discovery. Overall, offered good performance in the spectra decomposition, which allows flexible parameterization using descriptive statistics or kernel functions. is a seminal tool for brain signal decoding in fields such as cognitive neuroscience, brain-computer interface, neurofeedback, and brain diseases. © 2013 IEEE.

In this paper, a novel sparse multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) array (SMA) is proposed with closed-form expression. The proposed SMA is devised using the difference-coarray of the sum-coarray concept and the uniform linear array (ULA) fitting (UF) principle. More specifically, the transmitting and receiving arrays of the proposed SMA are sparse arrays designed via the UF principle. Compared with the existing SMAs, the proposed SMA has augmented uniform degrees of freedom (uDOF) and sensor separation. Numerical simulations verify the good capacity of the proposed SMA in terms of uDOF, mutual coupling, and direction finding accuracy.

Reconfigurable intelligent Surfaces (RIS) are recognized for their ability to actively control signal propagation, presenting a wide array of applications in 5G and the forthcoming 6G networks. In this paper, we design a RIS-assisted multi-input single-output (MISO) model and propose a corresponding direction of arrival (DOA) estimation algorithm. The proposed DOA estimation algorithm leverages the non-convex Ekblom norm to serve as the error criterion, ensuring robustness against impulsive noises, while the smoothed L1 norm is implemented as the regularization constraint to further enhance the performance of the algorithm. Distinct from prior research, the system under consideration operates with a single receive antenna, facilitating DOA estimation through the adjustment of RIS reflection coefficients, thereby markedly reducing system hardware costs. Moreover, we devise an alternating minimization strategy to obtain the optimal solution to the problem. A series of simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm surpasses existing methods in terms of accuracy and robustness.

A further study on the mass formula for linear codes with prescribed hull dimension

Finding a mass formula for a given class of linear codes is a fundamental problem in combinatorics and coding theory. In this paper, we consider the action of the unitary (resp. symplectic) group on the set of all Hermitian (resp. symplectic) linear complementary dual (LCD) codes, prove that all Hermitian (resp. symplectic) LCD codes are on a unique orbit under this action, and determine the formula for the size of the orbit. Based on this, we develop a general technique to obtain a closed mass formula for linear codes with prescribed Hermitian (resp. symplectic) hull dimension, and further obtain some asymptotic results. A robust C0-continuous nonconforming virtual element method (VEM) is developed for a boundary value problem arising from strain gradient elasticity in two dimensions, with the family of polygonal meshes satisfying a very general geometric assumption given in Brezzi et al. (2009) and Chen and Huang (2018). The stability condition of the VEMs is derived by establishing Korn-type inequalities and inverse inequalities. Some crucial commutative relations for locking-free analysis as in elastic problems are derived. Transformer RGBT Tracking with Spatio-Temporal Multimodal Tokens

Many RGBT tracking researches primarily focus on modal fusion design, while overlooking the effective handling of target appearance changes. While some approaches have introduced historical frames or fuse and replace initial templates to incorporate temporal information, they have the risk of disrupting the original target appearance and accumulating errors over time. To alleviate these limitations, we propose a novel Transformer RGBT tracking approach, which mixes spatio-temporal multimodal tokens from the static multimodal templates and multimodal search regions in Transformer to handle target appearance changes, for robust RGBT tracking. We introduce independent dynamic template tokens to interact with the search region, embedding temporal information to address appearance changes, while also retaining the involvement of the initial static template tokens in the joint feature extraction process to ensure the preservation of the original reliable target appearance information that prevent deviations from the target appearance caused by traditional temporal updates. We also use attention mechanisms to enhance the target features of multimodal template tokens by incorporating supplementary modal cues, and make the multimodal search region tokens interact with multimodal dynamic template tokens via attention mechanisms, which facilitates the conveyance of multimodal-enhanced target change information. Our module is inserted into the transformer backbone network and inherits joint feature extraction, search-template matching, and cross-modal interaction. Extensive experiments on three RGBT benchmark datasets show that the proposed approach maintains competitive performance compared to other state-of-the-art tracking algorithms while running at 39.1 FPS. With the capability to sculpt complex radiative wavefronts and couple energy from the reference wave to the desired radiation pattern, metasurface antennas have gained tremendous progress in recent years. The flexibility in antenna design gives rise to a bunch of metasurface antennas, while there is still a comprise between the needed operation band and radiation field pattern coherence. Furthermore, the relatively low sampling ratio and overlap between frequency measurement modes would inevitably pose a great challenge for matched filter and other advanced sparsity-driven post-processing imaging algorithms. In this paper, we design a deep neural network to achieve fast scene image reconstruction. The trained network could fastly reconstruct the imaged object in both low scene compressed ratio and high coherence of the measurement modes. The imaging experiments with measured radiation field data are conducted to verify the effectiveness of our method.

A Passive Mixed Loaded Over-Hundred-Octave Miniaturized Super-Wideband Antenna

An over-hundred-octave miniaturized super- wideband antenna based on passive elements mixed loading is proposed and analyzed in this paper. The proposed antenna is composed of inversed E-radiation patch, feeding line, several passive mixed loaded elements. The entire size of the proposed antenna is 0.012λ×0.01λ×0.00005λ (where λ is the lowest frequency of realized bandwidth). Derived from the analysis of impedance and equivalent circuit, by properly adjusting the inversed E-radiation patch and loading 5 passive elements into the construction of the antenna in position, the bandwidth is greatly improved. The simulated and measured results show that a -10dB fractional bandwidth of 196.2% is realized. Moreover, good omni-directional radiation patterns within the operating frequency band have been achieved from 10MHz to 1051MHz for HF, VHF and UHF applications. © 2002-2011 IEEE.
