To monitor the entire earth system, several global land cover mapping products have been produced based on different remote sensing imagery (e.g., AVHRR, MODIS, SPOT, HJ-1), including UMD Land Cover, Global Land Cover 2000, GlobCover 2009 and GlobeLand30. However, the application potential of those products has not been fully explored at a provincial scale. The primary objective of this study is to compare and investigate the potential of these products in Anhui Province, China. The area and spatial consistency were used to evaluate the four datasets based on China’s GlobeLand 30 due to 30 m spatial resolution and the total accuracy of 83.51%. The Pearson’s correlation coefficient (R) and the percentage disagreement (PD) were used to evaluate the area consistency. The spatial similarity coefficient (O) was here adopted in order to verify the accuracy of spatial positions. A total of eight cover classes including cropland, woodland, grassland, shrubland, wetland, water bodies, artificial surfaces and bareland were reclassified and mapped to perform the intercomparison. The analysis results show that the PD of GlobCover 2009 is respectively 15.36% and −8.43% for "cropland" and "woodland", while they are −20.20% and 2.10% for UMD. The "woodland" has better agreement percentage in comparison with "cropland". The O of UMD is the worst of 69.25%, indicating that the spatial consistency is weak for "cropland". Conversely, the O of GlobCover 2009 reaches up to 83.50%. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2017.

Owing to OFDM Air Interface in the whole system bandwidth only support one fixed waveform parameter, the sidelobe of rectangular pulse frequency response is bigger and the attenuation is slower, which cause that the OFDM system has a sensitive to partial differential frequency rate, high frequency spectrum leakage and large out-of-band（OOB） interference. Therefore, the conventional OFDM can not adapt to 5 G in rich business scenarios. Thus, the Filtered-OFDM（FOFDM） is proposed as a candidate technique for 5 G high-data rate wireless communication system. In order to achieve better spectrum leakage performance compared with Hamming window in F-OFDM system, this paper proposes a kind filter that uses Nuttall’s Blackman-Harris window in the F-OFDM system, and analyzes the performance of different window functions in the F-OFDM. Simulation results show that the design of F-OFDM is easy to be implemented by Nuttall’s Blackman-Harris window, which has a very low OOB emission with the same bit error rate（BER） performance compared with the F-OFDM that is based on Hamming window and the conventional OFDM.

Salient object detection aims to detect the attractive objects to human viewers in an image. In order to solve the low detection precision problem of existing algorithms, a new method based on influence updating and compactness feature is proposed. Firstly, it propagates the background information to the entire image by using influence updating algorithm and obtains the initial saliency map. Then, it introduces the compactness feature, a low-level cue of image, to obtain the compactness of regions by computing the difference of color space and location space respectively. Finally, initial saliency map is enhanced by the compactness feature and pixel-level saliency correction. Experiment results on MSRA-1000, CSSD and ECSSD databases demonstrate that the proposed method performs well against the state-of-the-art methods by fusing prior knowledges and visual cues in terms of accuracy. © 2017 IEEE.

Magnetic coupling resonance wireless power transmission is a new technology to realize the wireless transmission of energy by means of high frequency coupling resonance between the coils. The variation of the coupling coil size and the relative position will change the mutual inductance between the windings, which will finally affect the characteristics of the infinite power transmission system. Using rectangular coil with rectangular cross-section as the analysis object, to research the calculation method of mutual inductance between non-coaxial rectangular coils, by subdividing and summation method to deduce the theory formula of the mutual inductance, to support wireless power transmission which consists of rectangular coils. In all cases, the formula programming calculation, the FEM software simulation and the experimental measurement results are consistent, which proves the correctness of the calculation method.

At present, in related image processing field, the fuzzy set theory has also gained more successful applications to some extent. The image processing based on the fuzzy theory is an important research area. The information loss brought by 3D object projection in 2D image plane makes the image have the ambiguity exist in essence, thus there exists ambiguity when defining image characteristics such as the border, area and texture, therefore, because of the complexity of the image itself, uncertainty and inaccuracy or ambiguity may occur in the different stages of the processing. The algorithm in this paper improves the degree of membership function to make it suitable for the image fuzzy enhancement. The membership function curve is S-shaped, and at the inflection point, the function value on the left side drops rapidly while the function value on the right side rapidly rises. There is certain symmetry about the inflection point, and the function inflection point position can be decided by changing function parameters, and better enhancement effect can be gained by a small amount of iteration. By the experimental simulation, it is verified that the enhanced color image by adopting the method in this paper is bright in color on the visual effect with moderate increasing proportion of brightness and contrast, and best color maintaining performance and minimum chromaticity change, and also the image information entropy is improved when compared with the original image data.

Image enhancement, as a means of digital image processing, often is fuzzy. Based on defects of excessive enhancement and insufficient detail enhancement existing in the traditional image enhancement method, this paper proposes a self-adaptive image enhancement method based on variable fuzzy sets, and such method can, according to the image's gray-scale properties, introduce the relative gray-scale level of the pixel as the fuzzy feature, and adopt the improved membership function to conduct the fuzzy enhancement, thus avoiding the loss of a great deal of gray-scale information after the enhancement. The paper also introduces the selection of optimal parameters, ensures the quality of the image enhanced and improves the feasibility and efficiency of this algorithm. This algorithm, on the basis of keeping the image's original brightness, enhances the image details at the same time. Experimental results show that such algorithm can obtain good visual effect and more obvious detail information.

Fusion of infrared and visible images using nonsubsampled shearlet transform and block-based random image sampling

This paper presents a novel image fusion method based on nonsubsampled shearlet transform (NSST) and block-based random image sampling for infrared and visible images. In the method, the NSST is firstly performed on each of the source images to obtain their low frequency and high frequency subbands coefficients. Then the low frequency coefficients are fused by combing the block-based random image sampling and the sliding widow technique, while the high frequency coefficients are fused using classical absolute value maximum choosing rule. The fused image is reconstructed though performing the inverse NSST. The experiments are carried out on five pairs of infrared and visible images using five traditional fusion methods to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method and by comparing the fused results visually and objectively it is demonstrated that the proposed fusion method is competitive or even superior to the other wellknown methods.

We present an inductive powering system of a two-turns loop antenna which includes external and implanted antennas each with a cylinder magnetic core. It can wirelessly transfer power to loop antenna of a compact plane structure in cortex. Compared to single antenna without magnetic core, it can achieve highly-efficient (24.8%) wireless power transferring to implanted loop antenna and reduce the SAR to 83.2%. By improving the link power transfer efficiency and decreasing the SAR, we optimize the antenna's structural parameter. Then, we propose different liquid of concentrations to simulate human skin, which is used for power transmission experiment at 100MHz.

In this paper, the Adaptively Modified Characteristic Basis Function Method (AMCBFM) is proposed to fast simulate the electromagnetic scattering from one-dimensional rough surface. Firstly, the Primary Characteristic Basis Functions (PCBFs) arising from the self-interaction within the self-block are generated, and the coefficients of the basis function and the first current of each block are obtained. Secondly, the Secondary Characteristic Basis Functions (SCBFs) which account for the mutual coupling effects from the other distinct domains are obtained by using the inter-impedances. The higher SCBFs can be also derived through the same way. Finally, a new precision method is applied to control the current error, which is used to determine the order of the higher order SCBFs. By Comparing numerical simulations through the AMCBFM and the traditional Characteristic Basis Function Method (CBFM), the AMCBFM can guarantee the accuracy and void higher iteration, and the convergence performance is better than the CBFM in the lower order SCBFs. Moreover, by comparing numerical results of the AMCBFM and the method of moments (MoM), the AMCBFM can effectively reduce the size of the impedance matrix, and significantly reduce computing time.

A practical method to improve the performance of off-line Handwritten Chinese Character Recognition (HCCR) was proposed in this paper. The center loss was used in face verification task to optimize intra-class distance. With the joint supervision of softmax loss and center loss, A light convolutional neural networks (CNNs) framework was trained for off-line HCCR which could optimize inter and intra difference simultaneously. Extensive experimental results on pubic dataset demonstrate that the performance of HCCR is improved significantly.
