Virtual Machine Consolidation (VMC) is an effective means to improve the resource utilization and reduce energy consumption of data centers. However, the VMC optimization that only considers energy consumption may lead to SLA (Service-Level Agreements) violations and thus fail to guarantee the QoS (Quality of Service) provided. Therefore, it is necessary to consider both energy saving and SLA violations in the process of VMC. In this paper, we propose an energy and SLA-aware VMC algorithm that considers both energy saving and SLA violation optimization in data centers. The proposed algorithm uses the local regression method to predict the utilization of virtual machines, based on which it determines whether the host will be overloaded, so as to make the decision of virtual machine migrations. The proposed VMC algorithm is evaluated with CloudSim toolkit. Simulation results demonstrate that our algorithm has good energy saving performance and can effectively reduce SLA violation in cloud data center. Considering energy consumption and SLA violation, the ESV can be reduced by 7.57% on average and 16.36% at most compared with other algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

The similarity of triangular fuzzy numbers could be served as a measurement of similarity between two triangular cloud models. However, it has been found that existing methods for describing the similarity of triangular cloud models has the drawbacks that can't make full use of utilizing graphic information and assigning inappropriate weights to distances through research and analysis. The method proposed in this literature has adjusted the weight of distance similarity aim to ensure that the characteristic information of the model will not be covered. In addition, the proposed method provides a measurement to describe geometric shape bases on the expected curve included angle of the triangular cloud model. On the foundation of taking abundantly the similarity of distance and shape into account, we provide the measurement to achieve better accuracy. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method have been demonstrated through the time series of KNN algorithm. © 2023 The authors and IOS Press.

In order to avoid decision makers from making wrong decisions as much as possible and reduce the losses caused by wrong decisions, a new aggregation method of interval loss function is proposed based on incomplete information system. Firstly, the missing values are filled according to their characteristics and combined with probability, and on this basis, the measurement method of similarity is given, and the horizontal similarity class of each object is obtained according to the similarity between objects. Secondly, according to the number of times each object in the similar class appears in its corresponding horizontal similar class, the corresponding weight is obtained;Then the interval loss function of similar class is defined as the aggregation of interval loss functions of all objects in similar class, and each interval is weighted according to the weight, so that multiple intervals in similar class are aggregated into an interval, and then the aggregated interval is converted into a single value by using the conversion function. Finally, according to the aggregation method, three decision rules are given to make decisions, and the effectiveness of the method is verified by a case. © 2023 The authors and IOS Press.

Uncertainty exists widely in nature and human society. The handling and analysis of these uncertain phenomena have long been a focal point of research in natural sciences, representing a hot and crucial topic. The cloud model uses three numerical characteristics to realize qualitative and quantitative transformation of uncertain knowledge. Normal cloud is one of the more important and common cloud models. The similarity measurement of cloud model is used to judge the similarity of two cloud concepts, and the purpose is to understand the correlation between different cloud concepts, so as to improve the efficiency of classification and clustering. As a deformation extension of f divergence, Hellinger distance has good properties and is suitable for describing the difference between two probability distributions. HECMk and HCCMk algorithms are proposed by combining Hellinger distance and expectation curve cluster with entropy. Compared with previous algorithms, these two algorithms have higher distinguishing ability. Among them, HCCMk algorithm has better comprehensive performance and is feasible in actual similarity measurement. © 2023 The authors and IOS Press.

Video archives play a crucial role in various industries, from media and entertainment to security and surveillance. Managing these archives efficiently and securely is a growing challenge due to the increasing volume of video data being generated. In this paper, a video archive management method is presented to solve security and sensibility of the video files on blockchain. By encrypting video files and generating cryptographic hashes, the presented method can protect the integrity of the data and prevent unauthorized modifications. The method based on blockchain technology offers a compelling solution to the challenges faced in managing video archives. By combining the inherent security and transparency of blockchain with innovative data management algorithms, organizations can ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of their video archives. © 2024 SPIE.

Low temperature chilling damage is one of the most serious disasters in maize production,which is a typical non-linear complex issue with numerous influencing factors and strong *** to predict it is not only a hot theoretical research topic,but also an urgent practical problem to be ***,most of the current researches are focusing on post-disaster static descriptive assessment rather than pre-disaster dynamic predictive analysis,resulting in the problems such as no indicative result and low *** this study,the satisfaction rate of environmental accumulated temperature for maize production was used to measure the chilling damage risk,and a model for maize chilling damage risk prediction based on probabilistic neural network was *** model was composed of input layer,pattern layer,summation layer and output *** obtained results showed that the prediction accuracy for the most serious risk level was as high as 0.91,and the rates of the Type I Error and Type II Error made by the model were 0.1 and 0.09,*** indicated that the model employed was promising with good *** results of this research are of both theoretical significance for providing a new reference method of pre-disaster prediction to study maize chilling disaster risk and practical significance for reducing maize production risk and ensuring yield safety.

In view of the complex ventilation network in the mine, many influencing factors, and the complex establishment of the air demand model, this paper establishes an air volume optimization model with the minimum energy consumption of the entire ventilation network as the optimization objective, and adds the air volume balance law conditions, the air pressure balance law conditions, the branch air demand law conditions, the air resistance regulation law conditions, and the fan conditions as constraints to the model. Then, the intelligent algorithm is used to solve the problem. In order to make the intelligent algorithm converge faster and solve the problem optimally, the Grey Wolf algorithm is improved. Finally, the model and the improved intelligent algorithm are used to optimize the ventilation regulation of the actual operating coal mine, and the air volume control scheme is given. © 2023 Authors. Establishing dense correspondences between semantically similar images is a challenging task. Cost aggregation is a crucial step in finding correct dense correspondences, with the goal of optimizing the initial correlation map thereby removing the ambiguity of the correspondences. Current approaches use transformer architectures for cost aggregation, which lack local priors to adequately capture the local information contained in the correlation map. We propose to incorporate peripheral position coding into the transformer to explore the local information to obtain the matching set and call it the Peripheral Transformer Matcher (PTM). This coding technique partitions the overall receptive field of the self-attention mechanism into diverse peripheral regions, each with its own set of weights. By doing this, the proposed PTM gets a specific local prior by adding an inductive bias to the transformer models and making the initial correlation map less confusing. In addition, a local self-attention module is used to enhance the image features and obtain an enhanced initial correlation map. Comparisons of the experimental results with baselines on public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed PTM. © 2023 IEEE.

To address the problem that the classification and cleaning of garbage in city streets is always ineffective nowadays, the paper proposes a garbage detection method based on edge intelligence. The edge intelligence not only reduces the computational load of the cloud and speeds up the data transmission, but also greatly reduces the data transmission cost. First, images of city streets are collected and uploaded to the edge device via mobile devices in various locations in the city. Then, the edge server is used to temporarily store the image information, and the PeleeNet model deployed on it is used to identify and classify various kinds of garbage, and then visualize the information of each street. Finally, the street garbage information is transmitted to the cloud, which provides a detailed picture of the city’s garbage situation and facilitates city management. In this paper, the PeleeNet model is compared with ResNet, DenseNet and MobileNet models. The results show that the edge devices equipped with PeleeNet model not only have the fastest computation speed and the highest accuracy, but also occupy the least memory. It is fully demonstrated that the method studied in the paper can be applied to the problem of litter detection in urban streets. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.
