The refinement and intelligent control of shield tunneling is the development trend of modern tunnel construction technology. In order to better predict and control the surface subsidence caused by shield excavation, this paper takes the shield construction of Luoyang Metro Line 2 from Longmen Station to Longmen Avenue Station as the background, and proposes a method based on edge intelligence for shield construction in water-rich sand egg strata. Methods for predicting land subsidence. First, low latency and faster data processing are achieved by collecting a large amount of data containing dynamic information about geological conditions and surrounding environments during the shield tunneling process;then using the iFogSim simulator to create different configurations;second, establishing support A surface subsidence model based on vector regression was established, and the model was deployed on the edge equipment;finally, the model was evaluated using the monitoring data of surface subsidence of the water-rich sand egg formation in Luoyang area. The research results show that the edge computing-based system has lower latency and higher processing speed than only deploying cloud data centers. After Pearson-related parameter tuning and model comparison training with Linear as the kernel function, the mean square error of the predicted value and the collected value of the surface subsidence is better than the other two kernel functions. The method proposed in this paper can provide real-time prediction service for large-scale surface subsidence prediction caused by shield construction, and is more practical. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Semi-supervised learning has garnered significant attention, particularly in medical image segmentation, owing to its capacity to leverage a large number of unlabeled data and a limited amount of labeled data to improve performance. However, most existing semi-supervised segmentation methods exhibit shortcomings in supervising unlabeled data, both in the label space due to potential noise in pseudo-labels, and the feature space due to indistinct class boundaries. To address the issues above, we propose Dual-view Label and Feature Supervision Network, termed DLFS-Net, to enhance label and feature supervision for unlabeled data. Our approach is based on a dual-view learning strategy that incorporates two modules: the Confidence Fusion Supervision Module (CFS) and the Dual-view Prototype Learning Module (DPL). Specifically, the CFS module generates weight matrices to integrate complementary information from two model outputs, producing more accurate pseudo-labels in the label space. The DPL module reduces intra-class variations in the feature space from two different views through prototype learning to generate clear class boundaries. Experiments on the LA and Pancreas-CT datasets demonstrate that our framework show solid gains (e.g.,1.76% Dice and 2.37% Jaccard improvement on Pancreas-CT dataset with 20% labeled data) compared with the state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 ACM.

In recent years, gestures have been widely used in many fields. For example, human-computer interaction, virtual reality, gesture translation, etc. The reason for its rapid development is due to the emergence of deep learning and artificial intelligence under today’s society. Due to dynamic gestural interactions, such large intelligent models are often characterized by many parameters, large sample size, frequent parameter updates, and high communication volume. Based on this feature, we propose a cloud-based edge design architecture approach for gesture recognition based on an improved YOLOv5 network model optimization by changing different gestures, background interference, which uses a 21-layer model for the neural network. With the use of edge intelligence, the computational accuracy can be improved by 10.6% over the traditional YOLOv5 with a MAP value of 93.3%. The final recall rate is also improved by 3.6%. The parameter model is only 43.6% of the original one. This shows the practicality and operability of using edge computing as a technique in gesture recognition, as well as the small improvement cost and obvious effect. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

This study aims to deeply explore the impact of mobile edge computing based on extended reality technology on the multi-person linkage of the Zhijiang Peace Culture Memorial Hall under the immersive experience. In the part of research background and significance, it discusses the rise of the application of XR technology in the field of culture and education, emphasizing the importance of education on the history of revolution and its value in the social sense. Then, it expounds the core topic of this research aimed at integrating XR technology with education on the history of revolution, and presenting visitors with more realistic and immersive historical scenes by creating an immersive experience of multi-person linkage. The use of these technologies enables visitors to transcend time and space barriers, directly participate in historical events, and deeply appreciate the intrinsic value of red culture. In order to achieve multi-person linkage, this study adopts mobile edge computing technology to ensure that multiple visitors can realize real-time interaction in the virtual scene and jointly build a collective experience of the Metaverse. This research has achieved positive results in the fields of XR technology application, education on the history of revolution, and mobile edge computing. It provides a useful reference for the modernization and upgrading of the Zhijiang Peace Culture Memorial Hall, and also provides a new paradigm for the cultural promotion of multi-person linkage experience in Metaverse. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2024.

The metaverse originated from science fiction at first, but it gradually came into reality with the continuous power of technology. Aiming at the problems of course work in Chinese universities, such as its function is weakened or suppressed, its form is too abstract, and it lacks elaborate design, this paper proposes a design method of course work meta-universe based on extended reality under edge computing. XR technology is used to realize the interactive immersion of the coursework meta-universe, in order to improve students’ learning enthusiasm and ability to solve abstract problems. Based on the international perspective, this paper systematically combs and analyzes the integration architecture, application scenarios and future trends of the meta-universe education application based on Edge computing (MEC). Four key processes are described: teacher-student interaction, data collection, data feedback and comprehensive evaluation. In order to promote the application of the metaverse in the field of education to provide mirror. This paper discusses the H∞ consensus problem of leader-follower multi-agent systems. The controller for each agent is crafted to utilize comprehensive information from all connected agents, while an innovative event-triggered strategy is incorporated to minimize communication costs. Based on the Lyapunov function theory, an H∞ controller is proposed that can ensure both system stability and a prescribed disturbance attenuation level γ. Finally, a numerical example validated the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Knowledge extraction in healthcare has become a recent research hotspot due to the rapid development of AI technology as well as the urgent demand in the medicine research and practice. Traditional methods focus on extracting terms and relations using pattern matching and machine learning, but they depend on the construction of rules and the accuracy of feature extraction. In contrast, deep learning methods have a stronger ability to process data with high dimensions. Moreover, current study neglects the fact that the key knowledge in medicine is the process of diagnosing and treating patients, i.e., the relations that causes the status change in a healthcare workflow. This paper first identifies the relations relevant for medical processes, and adopts the method of relationship extraction based on Bidirection Gated Recurrent Unit (BiGRU) model and attention mechanism (BiGRU-ATT), in order to retrieve these relations from Chinese medical text. The experimental results show that regarding Chinese medical entity relationship extraction, we can achieve better accuracy rate and recall rate than using convolutional neural network(CNN). © 2019 Association for Computing Machinery.

We address the problem of learning new classes for semantic segmentation models from few examples, which is challenging because of the following two reasons. Firstly, it is difficult to learn from limited novel data to capture the underlying class distribution. Secondly, it is challenging to retain knowledge for existing classes and to avoid catastrophic forgetting. For learning from limited data, we propose a pseudo-labeling strategy to augment the few-shot training annotations in order to learn novel classes more effectively. Given only one or a few images labeled with the novel classes and a much larger set of unlabeled images, we transfer the knowledge from labeled images to unlabeled images with a coarse-to-fine pseudo-labeling approach in two steps. Specifically, we first match each labeled image to its nearest neighbors in the unlabeled image set at the scene level, in order to obtain images with a similar scene layout. This is followed by obtaining pseudo-labels within this neighborhood by applying classifiers learned on the few-shot annotations. In addition, we use knowledge distillation on both labeled and unlabeled data to retain knowledge on existing classes. We integrate the above steps into a single convolutional neural network with a unified learning objective. Extensive experiments on the Cityscapes and KITTI datasets validate the efficacy of the proposed approach in the self-driving domain. In order to study the flow characteristics in water bodies with rigid aquatic vegetation,series of laboratory experiments are carried out in an open channel,in which glass rods are used as plants with diameters of 6mm,8mm and 10mm,*** each diameter of glass rods,four typical cases are considered with various densities and arrangements of glass *** flow velocities in the four cases are measured by the 3-D laser Doppler velocimeter(LDV).The water surface slope,the flow velocity,the water head loss,the vegetation drag force and the hydraulic slope are calculated,analyzed and *** horizontal,vertical and total vegetation densities in the vegetation area are defined and the relationship between these physical parameters and the water surface slope are *** head loss and the hydraulic slope in the vegetation area are also calculated,compared and *** is indicated that the water surface slope and velocity,the head loss and the hydraulic slope in the vegetation area have a close relationship with the arrangement,the density,and the plant diameter of the vegetation.

Cloud detection from visual band of satellite image based on variance of fractal dimension

Cover ratio of cloud is a very important factor which affects the quality of a satellite image, therefore cloud detection from satellite images is a necessary step in assessing the image quality. The study on cloud detection from the visual band of a satellite image is developed. Firstly, we consider the differences between the cloud and ground including high grey level, good continuity of grey level, area of cloud region, and the variance of local fractal dimension (VLFD) of the cloud region. A single cloud region detection method is proposed. Secondly, by introducing a reference satellite image and by comparing the variance in the dimensions corresponding to the reference and the tested images, a method that detects multiple cloud regions and determines whether or not the cloud exists in an image is described. By using several Ikonos images, the performance of the proposed method is demonstrated.
