Traditionally,offline optimization of power systems is acceptable due to the largely predictable loads and reliable *** increasing penetration of fluctuating renewable generation and internet-of-things devices allowing for fine-grained controllability of loads have led to the diminishing applicability of offline optimization in the power systems domain,and have redirected attention to online optimization ***,online optimization is a broad topic that can be applied in and motivated by different settings,operated on different time scales,and built on different theoretical *** paper reviews the various types of online optimization techniques used in the power systems domain and aims to make clear the distinction between the most common techniques *** particular,we introduce and compare four distinct techniques used covering the breadth of online optimization techniques used in the power systems domain,i.e.,optimization-guided dynamic control,feedback optimization for single-period problems,Lyapunov-based optimization,and online convex optimization techniques for multi-period ***,we recommend some potential future directions for online optimization in the power systems domain.

Hair editing is a critical image synthesis task that aims to edit hair color and hairstyle using text descriptions or reference images, while preserving irrelevant attributes (e.g., identity, background, cloth). Many existing methods are based on StyleGAN to address this task. However, due to the limited spatial distribution of StyleGAN, it struggles with multiple hair color editing and facial preservation. Considering the advancements in diffusion models, we utilize Latent Diffusion Models (LDMs) for hairstyle editing. Our approach introduces Multi-stage Hairstyle Blend (MHB), effectively separating control of hair color and hairstyle in diffusion latent space. Additionally, we train a warping module to align the hair color with the target region. To further enhance multi-color hairstyle editing, we fine-tuned a CLIP model using a multi-color hairstyle dataset. Our method not only tackles the complexity of multi-color hairstyles but also addresses the challenge of preserving original colors during diffusion editing. Extensive experiments showcase the superiority of our method in editing multi-color hairstyles while preserving facial attributes given textual descriptions and reference images. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Recently, many compression algorithms are applied to decrease the cost of video storage and transmission. This will introduce undesirable artifacts, which severely degrade visual quality. Therefore, Video Compression Artifacts Removal (VCAR) aims at reconstructing a high-quality video from its corrupted version of compression. Generally, this task is considered as a vision-related instead of media-related problem. In vision-related research, the visual quality has been significantly improved while the computational complexity and bitrate issues are less considered. In this work, we review the performance constraints of video coding and transfer to evaluate the VCAR outputs. Based on the analyses, we propose a Spatial-Temporal Attention-Guided Enhancement Network (STAGE-Net). First, we employ dynamic filter processing, instead of conventional optical flow method, to reduce the computational cost of VCAR. Second, we introduce self-attention mechanism to design Sequential Residual Attention Blocks (SRABs) to improve visual quality of enhanced video frames with bitrate constraints. Both quantitative and qualitative experimental results have demonstrated the superiority of our proposed method, which achieves high visual qualities and low computational costs. © 2023 IEEE.

Deep learning methodologies are gaining popularity for enhancing the efficiency of Specific Emitter Identification (SEI). Nevertheless, the lack of labeled datasets continues to pose a challenge in most non-cooperative scenarios for SEI. Addressing this challenge, a framework for SEI is proposed, leveraging Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) in conjunction with auxiliary classifier GAN(ACGAN). The Short-Time Fourier Transform of emitters is utilized as radio-frequency fingerprint for the emitters. The input latent layer is infused with label information to steer the training process of the Generative Adversarial Network. Through semi-supervised training, shared weight updates are implemented for the classification network. Experimental results demonstrate that our model can achieve superior or competitive performances in several datasets compared with the former models. © 2024 IEEE.

Large-scale multi-objective optimization problems(LSMOPs)pose challenges to existing optimizers since a set of well-converged and diverse solutions should be found in huge search *** evolutionary algorithms are good at solving small-scale multi-objective optimization problems,they are criticized for low efficiency in converging to the optimums of *** contrast,mathematical programming methods offer fast convergence speed on large-scale single-objective optimization problems,but they have difficulties in finding diverse solutions for ***,how to integrate evolutionary algorithms with mathematical programming methods to solve LSMOPs remains *** this paper,a hybrid algorithm is tailored for LSMOPs by coupling differential evolution and a conjugate gradient *** the one hand,conjugate gradients and differential evolution are used to update different decision variables of a set of solutions,where the former drives the solutions to quickly converge towards the Pareto front and the latter promotes the diversity of the solutions to cover the whole Pareto *** the other hand,objective decomposition strategy of evolutionary multi-objective optimization is used to differentiate the conjugate gradients of solutions,and the line search strategy of mathematical programming is used to ensure the higher quality of each offspring than its *** comparison with state-of-the-art evolutionary algorithms,mathematical programming methods,and hybrid algorithms,the proposed algorithm exhibits better convergence and diversity performance on a variety of benchmark and real-world LSMOPs.
