Image generation is a crucial task to facilitate intelligent interpretation in remote sensing domain. Expanding dataset size through image generation can enhance model performance of downtown task. However, current generative models in remote sensing are mostly unconditional or guided by simple text, resulting in generated images lacking spatial and semantic constraints. This lack of control can negatively optimize downstream task models. To tackle these challenges, a two-stage controllable text-image generative model called Diffusion-Geo is presented. In the first stage, an extensive image-text generation dataset called RS-Control is created through prompt engineering of multimodal large language models (MLLMs) and manual prompts for existing datasets, incorporates diverse conditional controls with rich spatial and semantic information. Then RS-Control dataset is utilized to train a universal controllable image generative model. The second stage involves efficient tuning the universal model for different task datasets, minimizing fine-tuning costs while preserving diversity and high-quality features. Experiments conducted on the RSICD caption dataset and WHU change detection dataset demonstrate the superiority of Diffusion-Geo over other state-of-the-art models in image generation.

The employment of sub-Nyquist sampling enables the adaptation to the ever-increasing bandwidth demands of wireless communication systems. Multicoset sampling is a nonuniform sub-Nyquist sampling technique that can be realized by using a multi-channel architecture. Nevertheless, the performance of multicoset sampling is significantly affected by timing mismatches among sub-ADCs. Traditional analog calibration scheme mitigates timing mismatch errors by adjusting the sampling clock in the front-end, but its performance is suboptimal due to the difficulty in selecting an appropriate initial step size and the sequential calibration process. In this paper, a data-driven digital adaptive timing mismatch calibration approach is proposed that uses real-time measurement data only to calculate calibration parameters without changing hardware circuits, making it effective for tracking variations in mismatches among multiple channels. Based on the nonlinear relationship between the timing mismatches and the normalized mean squared error of the output spectrum, the proposed data-driven calibration scheme jointly computes calibration parameters among multiple channels in parallel through a series of dynamic linearization data models with a time-varying pseudo-partial derivative parameter estimation procedure, and then adaptively adjusts the sampling matrix in the reconstruction to correct unwanted distortions in the output spectrum. To further improve the calibration performance, particle swarm optimization algorithm is exploited to generate parameter vectors used in the proposed data-driven calibration scheme. Numerical analyses indicate that the proposed data-driven digital calibration scheme can eliminate timing mismatches with fewer calibration iterations and enhanced accuracy. © 2015 IEEE.

This paper is centered on gridless direction of arrival (DoA) estimation for single-snapshot data collected by non-uniform linear arrays (NLAs) in the context of automotive applications. While recent single-snapshot DoA estimation algorithms rooted in grid-based compressed sensing (CS) offer super-resolution capabilities, they are notably sensitive to discrepancies between the assumed sparsity basis and the actual basis. Furthermore, the existing atomic soft thresholding (AST) algorithm, a promising gridless sparse recovery technique within the Toeplitz model, is constrained to uniform linear arrays (ULAs) exhibiting Vandermonde structure in their array manifolds. However, in automotive scenarios, it becomes imperative to efficiently apply gridless DoA estimation to NLAs featuring non-Vandermonde array manifolds. In this paper, we introduce the non-Vandermonde atomic soft thresholding (NVAST) algorithm and employ it for DoA estimation in NLAs. The novel algorithm establishes a link between Vandermonde and non-Vandermonde atoms by decomposing non-Vandermonde vectors and addressing them using semi-definite programming (SDP). Simulation and measurement experiments conducted with automotive radars underscore the remarkable performance of our proposed method. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2023.

Non-autoregressive Machine Translation with Probabilistic Context-free Grammar

Non-autoregressive Transformer(NAT) significantly accelerates the inference of neural machine translation. However, conventional NAT models suffer from limited expression power and performance degradation compared to autoregressive (AT) models due to the assumption of conditional independence among target tokens. To address these limitations, we propose a novel approach called PCFG-NAT, which leverages a specially designed Probabilistic Context-Free Grammar (PCFG) to enhance the ability of NAT models to capture complex dependencies among output tokens. Experimental results on major machine translation benchmarks demonstrate that PCFG-NAT further narrows the gap in translation quality between NAT and AT models. Moreover, PCFG-NAT facilitates a deeper understanding of the generated sentences, addressing the lack of satisfactory explainability in neural machine translation.2 Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) tomography (TomoSAR) has garnered significant attention due to its capability for three-dimensional reconstruction. Compressed sensing (CS) methods are widely employed to address the TomoSAR inversion challenge. Nevertheless, practical applications reveal phase errors among different channels, resulting in defocusing and blurring when relying solely on CS for 3D reconstruction. Current state-of-the-art autofocus techniques suffer from prohibitive computational complexity, limiting their applicability to large-scale 3D imaging. In pursuit of efficient TomoSAR 3-D autofocusing, we proposed ASAMP-Net, an innovative deep unfolding network. Operating within a two-step framework, each layer comprises two stages: phase error estimation and iterative scattering coefficient reconstruction using the sparse adaptive matching pursuit (SAMP) algorithm. Additionally, phase error estimation is obtained through mathematical derivation, while challenges associated with fixed sparsity and limited efficiency in conventional methods are mitigated through deep learning techniques. Simulation experiments and real data validation affirm the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2023.

In recent years, object detection has been widely used in various fields such as face detection, remote sensing image detection and pedestrian detection. Due to the complex environment in the actual scene, we need to fully obtain the feature information in the image to improve the accuracy of object detection. This paper proposes an object detection algorithm based on coordinate attention and contextual feature enhancement. We design a multi-scale attention feature pyramid network, which first uses multi-branch atrous convolution to capture multi-scale context information, and then fuses the coordinate attention mechanism to embed location information into channel attention, and finally uses a bidirectional feature pyramid structure to effectively fuse high-level features and low-level features. We also adopt the GIoU loss function to further improve the accuracy of object detection. The experimental results show that the proposed method has certain advantages compared with other detection algorithms in the PASCAL VOC datasets.

With the increasing abundance of multimedia data resources, researches on mining the relationship between different modalities to achieve refined cross-modal retrieval are gradually emerging. In this paper, we propose a novel Semantic Maximum Relevance and Modal Alignment (SMR-MA) for Cross-Modal Retrieval, which utilizes the pre-trained model with abundant image text information to extract the features of each image text, and further promotes the modal information interaction between the same semantic categories through the modal alignment module and the multi-layer perceptron with shared weights. In addition, multi-modal embedding is distributed to the normalized hypersphere, and angular edge penalty is applied between feature embedding and weight in angular space to maximize the classification boundary, thus increasing both intra-class similarity and inter-class difference. Comprehensive analysis experiments on three benchmark datasets demonstrate that the proposed method has superior performance in cross-modal retrieval tasks and is significantly superior to the state-of-the-art cross-modal retrieval methods.

Given the critical role of rotating machinery in industrial cyber-physical systems (ICPS), ensuring their reliable operation is essential for the stability and safety of ICPS. Deep neural networks have demonstrated competitive results for intelligent fault diagnosis, which are usually trained via the historical data of all fault modes. However, in real engineering, it is usually difficult to collect samples and exhaust all failures during the training stage. As a result, out-of-distribution fault diagnosis (OOD-FD) becomes a more realistic problem that requires the methods to not only accurately diagnose the known faults, but also effectively recognize unknown ones. Therefore, a novel orthogonal anchor clustering with focal attention (FA-OAC) is proposed in this paper for OOD-FD. Firstly, an orthogonal anchor clustering (OAC) algorithm is proposed to fix the class center of each fault mode orthogonally and distinguish the known and unknown faults at the class level. Then, because the identifiability of different fault modes changes a lot in OOD-FD, the focal attention mechanism is applied to dynamically adjust the attention to different fault modes according to the distance loss of OAC, thus addressing the identifiability imbalance problem. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, different OOD-FD tasks are designed based on two rotating machinery datasets. The experimental results and comparison with state-of-the-art fault diagnosis methods have demonstrated that the proposed method has improved the OOD-FD performance greatly and therefore provides an effective tool in real engineering. © 2023 IEEE.
