Cellular-connected unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications is an enabling technology to transmit control signaling or payload data for UAVs through cellular networks. Due to the line-of-sight dominant air-to-ground channels, efficient interference mitigation is crucial to UAV communications, while the conventional fixed-position antenna (FPA) arrays have limited degrees of freedom to suppress the interference between the UAV and its non-associated co-channel base stations (BSs). To address this challenge, we propose in this letter a new approach by utilizing the six-dimensional movable antenna (6DMA) arrays to enhance the interference mitigation for the UAV. Specifically, we propose an efficient block coordinate descent algorithm to iteratively optimize the antenna position vector, array rotation vector, receive beamforming vector, and associated BS of the UAV to maximize its signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio. Numerical results show that the proposed 6DMA enhanced cellular-connected UAV communication can significantly outperform that with the traditional FPA arrays and other benchmark schemes in terms of interference mitigation. © 2025 IEEE. Artificial intelligence(AI) systems surpass certain human intelligence abilities in a statistical sense as a whole, but are not yet the true realization of these human intelligence abilities and behaviors. There are differences, and even contradictions, between the cognition and behavior of AI systems and humans. With the goal of achieving general AI, this study contains a review of the role of cognitive science in inspiring the development of the three mainstream academic branches of AI based on the three-layer framework proposed by David Marr, and the limitations of the current development of AI are explored and analyzed. The differences and inconsistencies between the cognition mechanisms of the human brain and the computation mechanisms of AI systems are analyzed. They are found to be the cause of the differences and contradictions between the cognition and behavior of AI systems and humans. Additionally, eight important research directions and their scientific issues that need to focus on braininspired AI research are proposed: highly imitated bionic information processing, a large-scale deep learning model that balances structure and function, multi-granularity joint problem solving bidirectionally driven by data and knowledge, AI models that simulate specific brain structures, a collaborative processing mechanism with the physical separation of perceptual processing and interpretive analysis, embodied intelligence that integrates the brain cognitive mechanism and AI computation mechanisms,intelligence simulation from individual intelligence to group intelligence(social intelligence), and AI-assisted brain cognitive intelligence.

In this paper, we consider the joint beamforming design for simultaneous sensing and communication in a wireless multi-user system. Different from the existing works that mostly are for single target, we consider sensing the channel parameters of multiple targets while communicating with multiple users. The design goal is to minimize a weighted sum of the Cramer-Rao bounds (CRB) of target parameters subject to the communication sum rate and transmission power constraints. While the classical weighted minimum mean square error (WMMSE) and semidefinite relaxation (SDR) can be used to handle the problem, we propose to reformulate the problem into a max-min form, by leveraging the tightness of SDR, and solve it by a low-complex first-order method. Numerical results not only demonstrate the computation efficiency of the proposed algorithm but also its effectiveness in enhancing the sensing performance in practice. © 2023 IEEE.

In the last two decades,many edge detection methods have been developed and widely used in image processing for edge detection and the hybrid compactWENO finite difference(hybrid)schemes for solving the system of hyperbolic conservation laws with solutions containing both discontinuous and complex fine-scale ***,many edge detection methods include the problem-dependent parameters such as the high order multi-resolution(MR)analysis(Harten,JCP,49(1983)).Therefore,we combined the Tukey’s boxplot method with MR analysis(Gao et al.,JSC,73(2017))to overcome this problem in a *** the Tukey’s boxplot method needs to sort the data at the beginning of Runge-Kutta time integration method,which is relatively time-consuming and *** this study,we employ the PauTa criterion and remove the problem-dependent parameters in the MR ***,two new edge detection approaches,which are based on second-order central difference scheme and Ren’s idea(Ren et al.,JCP,192(2003)),are also *** accuracy,efficiency and robustness of the hybrid scheme with the new edge detectors are verified by numerous classical one-and two-dimensional examples in the image processing and compressible Euler equations with discontinuous solutions.

The motion mode of near-space targets is complex due to their high threat level. The target imaging faces low SNR and susceptibility to background noise. The existing detection and classification algorithms struggle to meet the demands of performance and speed on such targets. To address these issues, a YOLOv5-based target detection algorithm utilizes CARAFE upsampling and the small detection head to extract internal features and edge information of dim target. The algorithm adeptly captures dim target features, enhancing real-time performance and detection accuracy while overcoming subtle feature granularity and extraction difficulties. Aiming at the problem that there is no existing trajectory classification algorithm in the near-space field, we propose an infrared dim target trajectory classification algorithm. The improved attention module is used to enhance the extraction of motion features, and the target category is accurately identified by the prediction module, improving the capacity to extract dependencies between trajectory fragments. We execute comparative experiments on common infrared dim target dataset, near-space infrared dim target dataset and real dataset to confirm the viability of our methods. The outcomes indicate that our proposed method can be applied to the above three types of dim targets and significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

Online education has become increasingly significant for university students and faculty, especially in the context of the modern remote education landscape. However, the inherent space-time separation in online education can create communication delays between teachers and students, making it challenging to monitor students' behaviors effectively. In an effort to understand the connection between students' online engagement and their learning performance, data annotation has been implemented to address the issue of accurately representing students' learning behaviors. Taking the online teaching data of Shanghai Normal University platform as the research object, the primary online education problem is explored through data mining, which includes correlation analysis, Gini importance ranking, and principal component analysis (PCA). Then, constructing the learning performance prediction model using random forest (RF) based on PCA by comparing various machine learning algorithms. As a consequence, the most influential online learning behaviors are course duration time, document learning time, test average score, and video completion rate. The overall classification accuracy of the learning performance prediction model is 87.45%, and the highest prediction accuracy for a single category is 96.52%. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper reports on a new class of waveguide filter with enhanced flexibility in the realization of polarization rotation functionality. The filter is based on elliptic cylindrical resonators (ECRs) that are configured with an in-line coupling topology using cylindrical coupling cavities. The polarization rotation functionality of the filter is enabled by rotating the ECRs along the axis of symmetry with appropriate angle intervals. Any polarization rotation angle between 0°-90° can be readily achieved without any distortion of the filter geometry. An X-band fourth-order filter prototype with a polarization rotation angle of 90° and a Chebyshev bandpass transfer function is designed and implemented. The filter is manufactured monolithically by incorporating Polyjet 3-D printing and electroless copper plating techniques. The 3-D printed filter demonstrates excellent RF performance with passband return loss and insertion loss of over 20 dB and averagely 0.4 dB, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Graph-based Cognitive Diagnosis (CD) has attracted much research interest due to its strong ability on inferring students' proficiency levels on knowledge concepts. While graph-based CD models have demonstrated remarkable performance, we contend that they still cannot achieve optimal performance due to the neglect of edge heterogeneity and uncertainty. Edges involve both correct and incorrect response logs, indicating heterogeneity. Meanwhile, a response log can have uncertain semantic meanings, e.g., a correct log can indicate true mastery or fortunate guessing, and a wrong log can indicate a lack of understanding or a careless mistake. In this paper, we propose an Informative Semantic-aware Graph-based Cognitive Diagnosis model (ISG-CD), which focuses on how to utilize the heterogeneous graph in CD and minimize effects of uncertain edges. Specifically, to explore heterogeneity, we propose a semantic-aware graph neural networks based CD model. To minimize effects of edge uncertainty, we propose an Informative Edge Differentiation layer from an information bottleneck perspective, which suggests keeping a minimal yet sufficient reliable graph for CD in an unsupervised way. We formulate this process as maximizing mutual information between the reliable graph and response logs, while minimizing mutual information between the reliable graph and the original graph. After that, we prove that mutual information maximization can be theoretically converted to the classic binary cross entropy loss function, while minimizing mutual information can be realized by the Hilbert-Schmidt Independence ***, we adopt an alternating training strategy for optimizing learnable parameters of both the semantic-aware graph neural networks based CD model and the edge differentiation layer. Extensive experiments on three real-world datasets have demonstrated the effectiveness of ISG-CD.

Label-noise constitutes a major challenge for facial expression recognition in the wild due to the ambiguity of facial expressions worsened by low-quality images. To deal with this problem, we propose a simple but effective Label-noise Robust Network (LRN) which explores the inter-class correlations for mitigating ambiguity that usually happens between morphologically similar classes. Specifically, LRN leverages a multivariate normal distribution to model such correlations at the final hidden layer of the neural network to suppress the heteroscedastic uncertainty caused by inter-class label noise. Furthermore, LRN utilizes a confidence-based label-free loss to extract compact intra-class feature representations under label noise while preserving the intrinsic inter-class relationships. Experiments on three in-the-wild facial expression datasets demonstrates the superiority of our method. © 2022 IEEE.

The service time of Road-Side Units (RSUs) for vehicle users will directly affect the Quality of Service (QoS) in the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), and it is related to the traffic flow and service decisions. Consequently, a sophisticated service decision mechanism based on the traffic flow prediction is necessary beforehand in order to optimize QoS. In this work, we propose a service decision based on traffic flow prediction to reduce the service waiting time of vehicles. Firstly, we propose a traffic flow prediction model based on deep learning. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is used to capture spatial data in order to handle the complicated road network layout in metropolitan roads. First, to reveal people's travel patterns, temporal features are captured by two different models. While short-term features are captured from historical data by Auto-Encoder, daily period feature as well as weekly period feature are captured from bi-directional data by Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM). Second, by simulating the process of RSUs serving vehicles using a queuing theory model, we propose a service decision mechanism based on the anticipated traffic flow. The proposed service decision mechanism aims to reduce the average waiting time of vehicles for service. Particularly, the RSUs will ask the Macro Base Station (MBS) for assistance when there are too many vehicles traveling through the RSUs. Finally, we conduct comprehensive experiments using real data to evaluate the model performance, and it is demonstrated that our proposed scheme outperforms other benchmarks. © 2023 IEEE.
