With increased penetration of distributed energy resources and electric vehicles (EVs), EV charging stations integrated with energy storage (ES) is regarded as an important measure to mitigate the power fluctuation and support the distribution networks. Therefore, this paper works on the dispatch strategy of distribution networks with EV charging stations coupled with ES. Firstly, a within-day dispatch model of distribution network is established which consider the characteristics of EV charging load. Secondly, an optimal dispatch strategy is proposed to minimize the daily operation cost, which consider the difference of electricity price under peak and valley load curve. Finally, Case studies are conducted and the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed dispatch strategy can greatly reduce the economic operation costs and smooth the power fluctuations within the charging station. © 2019 IEEE.

In this paper,allowing for general transmission and recovery times distributions,we proposed an edge-based age-structured-like compartmental model for STIs(EBACMS)in a coupled *** considered sexual transmissions between men with also heterosexual ***,we gave the general approach of proving the nonnegativity of solutions for the system coupling ordinary and partial differen-tial equations,which can be applied to all edge-based compartment *** then analyzed the epidemic threshold Ro with different distributions which couples the thresholds of the single-layer and bipartite networks in the percolation *** also studied the global stability of disease-free equilibrium with R0<1 and the final epidemic size F(the proportion of the population experiencing infection during the epidemic)with R0>*** addition,numerical simulations indicated that given a fixed exponential transmission distribution,a higher variance(with same mean)in general recovery distribution gives smaller R0 and *** analysis on Ro and F in terms of the parameters illustrated that male-to-male transmission routes have a greater impact on Rg and F than the heterosexual transmission routes for the Markovian transmission process and arbitrary recovery *** results provide a good theoretical guideline to consider the distributions of real-world STIs.

To weaken the pulsation of the harmonic magnetic field and improve the wave of the air-gap magnetic field in high voltage motors because of their open slots, magnetic slot wedge should be imbedded into the slot opening. In the paper, through analyzing the air-gap magnetic field distribution of large-scale motors affected by embedding magnetic slot wedges in open slots, the influence of magnetic slot wedge on the motor parameters and performance is discussed in theory. The finite element analysis (FEA) and the experiment results were given, which not only proves the validity of the analysis in the paper, also through the simulation results the proper parameters of magnetic slot wedges for best performance of motors were concluded, which provides a theoretical reference for the manufacturers when choosing or processing magnetic slot wedges. © 2008 IEEE.

Interference caused by wind power integration has aggravated peak load regulation difficulty of power systems, especially, for the negative peak load regulation capacity. The energy storage system (ESS) is regarded as a desirable alternative for peak load regulation due to its good properties in flexibility. In order to fully exploit the advantages of ESS in peak load regulation, an optimization model aiming at maximizing the negative peak load regulation capacity is proposed in this paper. The impact of wind power uncertainty and the assistance of participated ESS on the peak shaving are considered. Then, the optimal scheme of ESS is obtained which can reduce the negative peak load regulation pressure obviously. Finally, the performance and effectiveness of the proposed method are demonstrated with actual power system in North China. © 2019 IEEE.

With the aging of the population, a considerable number of elderly persons suffer from walking disability. Lower limb exoskeleton robots have been proved to be effective in rehabilitation training and walking assistance. Though significant advancement has been made in the last decade, lacking the ability of adapting to complex terrain is one of the main challenges that restrict the wide application of exoskeleton robots. Thus we focus on the environmental perception and corresponding gait pattern generation of lower limb assistant exoskeleton. In this paper, we introduce a method to generate gait of exoskeleton walking on a stair, which applies the L-0 minimization-based acquisition and reconstruction of stairs information through 3D Point Cloud. The results of experiments show that our method can precisely measure the physical dimension information of stairs. © 2019 IEEE.

Target recognition is a fundamental research topic in the process of robot grasping. In this paper, we proposed an algorithm framework for object recognition based on local naive Bayes nearest neighbor with Kinect. With the emergence of local invariant feature detection, the method based on local invariant features gradually becomes the mainstream. Object recognition is realized through the feature matching of the model in the current scene and the models in the library based on local invariant property. Considering the number of models in the library may be as many as dozens or even hundreds, I divide the recognition process into coarse and fine recognition, the part of coarse recognition adopts the local naive Bayes nearest neighbor algorithm, just search for a number of the nearest neighbors of the object to be identified, it does not need to compare all models in the model library one by one, the computational complexity of the model increases with the number of models in the logarithmic growth, So we can effectively deal with the situation of large data in library. The process of fine recognition is a process of layers of verification, it mainly includes geometric verification, pose verification, projection verification, the model with the most matching points will be used as the final recognition result. In the end, a variety of performances were tested on the garage willow database and the grasping experiments of the robot arm demonstrate the superiority of my proposed method. © 2016 IEEE.

Magnetorheological (MR) rotary brakes leverage the magnetically controllable rheological properties of MR fluids to provide damping torque in lower limb assistance devices. This paper utilizes an optimization algorithm (Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA)) to optimize the geometric dimension of the MR brake to enhance field-dependent brake torque. First, the mechanical design and optimization process of the MR brake were outlined. Then, the magnetic density of the MR fluid is evaluated using the ANSYS platform. With that, the WOA was exploited to optimize key design parameters across multiple iterations. According to the simulated results, the torque was improved from 17.39 Nm to 25.89 Nm, which increased by 48%. Finally, a prototype with the initial dimension was fabricated and preliminarily tested. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a novel method for multimodal material classification based on ensemble learning and optimized features. The proposed method consists of three key steps. Firstly, we extract a set of features for each modality. Compared to existing methods, the extracted features are relatively simple but more effective when they are incorporated into the classifiers. Then, the feature selection algorithms, including Multi-Cluster Feature Selection (MCFS) and Laplacian Score (LS) are employed to reduce the feature dimension due to the curse of dimensionality. Finally, an ensemble learning method is proposed to integrate the merits of different feature selection methods. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated on the LMT-108 surface material dataset which includes multiple modalities such as sound, acceleration, and image. The experimental results have shown that our approach performs better than the competing methods. © 2021 IEEE.

UK hung parliament (UKHP) prediction is a concern. It may not only cause political issues, but also lead to troubles in other fields such as economics. It is important to make predictions on UKHP. In this paper, we use three-variable and five-variable Weng-Zhang algorithms (also termed addition-subtraction and frequency [ASF] algorithms) of different traversal types to predict the risky time-intervals and years of UKHP to give an early alert for avoidance. Experiment results show that 2021-2023, 2047-2068, and 2098-2104 are more potentially risky, and 2023, 2053, 2055, 2061, 2068, and 2098 have a greater risk for the occurrence of UKHP. © 2021 IEEE
