To address the issue of insufficient accuracy in wind power output forecasting, this paper proposes a Support Vector Machine (VSM) model based on similar day matching and kernel entropy component analysis for wind power prediction. The model effectively extracts similar day features through the similar day approach and optimizes feature representation by combining it with kernel entropy component analysis (KECA), ultimately employing the SVM model for wind farm power forecasting. simulation results demonstrate that using this model for optimizing wind power generation predictions enhances the accuracy of wind power forecasts, surpassing the precision of single-method predictions. The Similar Day-KECA-SVM method leverages historical data from similar days and features extracted through KECA, with SVM performing the final prediction. This approach adeptly handles complex patterns and nonlinear relationships in wind power forecasting, thereby achieving superior predictive performance.

With the rapid expansion of smart grids, there is a growing complexity in power system dynamics, which increases the availability of real-time operational data and underscores the need for advanced transient stability simulations. Traditional transient stability analysis methods are constrained by their computational demands and may compromise accuracy. Furthermore, deep learning-based methods often focus on the application of a single algorithm, lacking a systematic consideration of the entire simulation process. To address these challenges, this study proposes a novel approach that leverages big data to enhance transient stability simulations. By integrating deep learning and ensemble learning techniques, the model significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of predicting transient instabilities. The methodology utilizes a multi-source data acquisition and fusion scheme to ensure data comprehensiveness and a distributed storage architecture to handle large-scale datasets effectively. Advanced visualization technologies are also employed to enhance the interpretability of the simulation results. This comprehensive framework aims to support the safe and stable operation of power systems amid increasing complexity and data availability.

With the escalating demand for power inspection and equipment maintenance, developing effective algorithms for power system fault detection is crucial for ensuring the safety and stability of power systems. This paper leveragesthe Trellis network, enhanced with an attention module, to significantly improve the Trellis network’s capability in recognizing power fault images, thus better addressing fault identification tasks within power systems. Through testing on a self-constructed dataset and comparative experiments with models such as DCNN, RCNN, and DenseNet, the proposed attention mechanismenhanced Trellis network algorithm has demonstrated its effectiveness and superiority in fault detection.

Aiming to address the stability challenges in power systems caused by the volatility and uncertainty of photovoltaic (PV) power generation, an optimization strategy for PV-storage systems incorporating demand response (DR) is proposed. Which is based on PV generation characteristics, Time-of-Use Pricing (TUP), and demand side flexibility. A multi-objective optimization model is established to balance the operational and environmental costs of PV-storage configuration. Building on dynamic adjustments at the demand side, a Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO) algorithm with dynamic inertia weighting is introduced to enhance global search capability for optimized energy storage (ES) configuration. In case study, two scenarios are designed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed model in reducing costs and improving PV utilization rates.

This paper introduces CM-RETS, a 4-Level address Communication Model designed specifically for real-time simulation of electromagnetic transients in power systems. CM-RETS incorporates a unique 4-Level address scheme and leverages Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) technology to enable efficient and reliable data exchanges between computing nodes in a distributed system. By effectively distributing computational load, CM-RETS facilitates faster and more realistic simulations, ensuring precise and timely data exchanges within a 5μs time step to capture transients in real time. Experimental results validate the effectiveness and efficiency of CM-RETS in achieving accurate and real-time simulations of electromagnetic transients. With its robust and cost-effective solution, CM-RETS provides researchers and engineers with the means to perform detailed analysis and studies on power systems under various transient conditions.

Aiming at the problem of low-frequency oscillation when photovoltaic power generation is connected to weak AC system, a linearization model of photovoltaic power generation is established, which ignores current inner loop and considers inertia control. The influence of various leading factors on low-frequency oscillation modes of photovoltaic power generation is analyzed. Finally, a low-frequency oscillation stabilizer (SSDC) is designed according to the phase compensation method to suppress the low-frequency oscillation of power system. The results show that the increase of input power of DC capacitor and the decrease of proportional control parameters of DC voltage loop and PLL will lead to the decrease of system damping and stability. Finally, the electromagnetic simulation model of weak AC system with photovoltaic power generation is built on PSCAD/EMTDC platform, which verifies the validity of eigenvalue analysis results and SSDC.

With the rapid increase in renewable energy installation nodes and the substantial enhancement of switching frequencies in the new power system, this paper proposes a design scheme for a cloud simulation software that employs the Latency Insertion Method (LIM) to decompose large-scale new power system models into several subsystems, enabling multi-platform integrated parallel computing. The self-developed platform meets the demands of ultra-large simulation scales, ultra-small simulation time steps, and massive simulation computations in power systems. Experimental results demonstrate that the accelerated simulation technology, which integrates model segmentation using LIM with multi-core parallel execution, can enhance the simulation speed by up to 858 times while maintaining simulation accuracy. This significantly improves simulation efficiency and is suitable for large-scale simulations of new power systems.

This paper proposes a fully decentralized local electricity market mechanism backboned by a modified version of the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM). Comparing with the state-of-the-art peer-to-peer (P2P) market in local distribution systems, the proposed electricity trading mechanism comprehensively incorporates power network constraints formulated by an Alternating Current (AC) power flow model. In the proposed method, nodal voltages are designed as the only public variables shared among participants. Privacy of each participant is thus sufficiently preserved without exposing the bid data to the others. Meanwhile, the proposed method can also ensure the global optimality of social welfare in electricity transactions. Comprehensive case studies on the IEEE 33-node distribution system are conducted to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed electricity trading mechanism. © 2022 IEEE.

As the core device in the field of communication, filter is developing towards miniaturization and high frequency. In this paper, a new dual frequency filter based on step impedance resonator is proposed. The penetration rate of renewable energy and other power electronic sources in the system continues to increase, the strength of the power grid is weakened, and the system security is challenged. Some converters urgently need to adopt grid-forming control, for example, the droop control. However, due to the different impedance characteristics of the power system environment and the varying electrical distances between the grid source and load, the grid-forming converter cannot adapt to traditional droop control in multi-point parallel operation, this condition can be improved by adding virtual impedance. This paper first derives the main function mechanism of virtual impedance taking droop control as an example, and proposes a virtual impedance adaptive parameter tuning method based on network equivalent identification, then verifies the method through MATLAB/Simulink simulation. The proposal of this method is of great significance for reflecting the operational status of the system, improving the adaptability of renewable energy equipment and stations, and enhancing their fault ride-through ability. It also has important value for improving other grid-forming technologies.
