ADMM-based Distributed State Estimation for Integrated Energy system

In order to have an accurate knowledge of system-wide operation states,it is necessary to perform state estimation for the integrated energy system(IES)as the basis of energy man-agement and *** state estimation is practically infeasible for IES due to the unreliability of communication,the barrier on privacy,and the large scale of integrated *** paper proposes a distributed state estimation algorithm based on the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)for IES containing electricity,heat,and natural *** coupling units are taken into full consideration in modeling of IES state estimation to reflect the harmonization of multi *** the basis of bilinear measurement model,the state estimation considering nonlinear measurements can be replaced by an equivalent three-stage problem containing two linear state estimations and an intermediate transformation to avoid non-convex *** three-stage procedure for IES state estimation can be further decoupled over three sub-systems with coordination on coupling units,yielding a fully distributed scheme based on ADMM.A modified ADMM with the self-adjusting penalty parameter is also adopted to enhance the *** results demonstrate the validity and superiority of the proposed algorithm.

Increase in permeability of renewable energy sources(RESs)leads to the prominent problem of voltage stability in power system,so it is urgent to have a system strength evaluation method with both accuracy and practicability to control its access scale within a reasonable ***,a hybrid intelligence enhancement method is proposed by combining the advantages of mechanism method and data driven ***,calculation of critical short circuit ratio(CSCR)is set as the direction of intelligent enhancement by taking the multiple renewable energy station short circuit ratio as the quantitative ***,the construction process of CSCR dataset is proposed,and a batch simulation program of samples is developed accordingly,which provides a data basis for subsequent ***,a multi-task learning model based on progressive layered extraction is used to simultaneously predict CSCR of each RESs connection point,which significantly reduces evaluation error caused by weak *** performance and anti-noise performance of the proposed method are verified on the CEPRI-FS-102 bus system,which provides strong technical support for real-time monitoring of system strength.

Integrated generation–consumption dispatch based on compensation mechanism considering demand response behavior

Demand response(DR) is important to account for behaviors of the demand side to yield an optimal dispatch result. However, it is difficult for energy suppliers to collect customers' private information unless there is an incentive mechanism for customers to do so. Therefore,this paper proposes a new integrated generation–consumption dispatch based on compensation mechanism considering DR behavior. Firstly, in light of the dayahead load forecast data, we deduce the utility function model of different customers. By subtracting generating units' operation cost from consumers' total utility, the dispatch model has a decentralized demand participant structure based on this utility function. The utility function is used to describe consumers' preferences and energy consumption behaviors. Secondly, an effective compensation mechanism is designed to ensure customers to select the level of compensation appropriate to their willingness to curtail load. Finally, a new dispatch model is proposed that incorporates the DR compensation mechanism into the generation–consumption dispatch model. The new model can improve the interaction of generation and consumption,and benefit both the energy supplier and its customers. The proposed model is piecewise linearized and solved by a mixed-integer linear programming method. It is tested on a six-bus system and the IEEE 118-bus system. Simulation results show that the proposed model can realize both maximum social welfare and Pareto optimal results.

A Monitoring Method for the Ice Shape and the Freeze-Thaw Process of Ice Accretion on Transmission Lines Based on Circular FBG Plane Principal Strain Sensor

As a key infrastructure for China's "West-to-East power Transmission" project, transmission lines (TL) face the threat of ice accretion under complex microclimatic conditions. This study proposes a plane principal strain sensing method based on a fiber Bragg grating circular array, achieving synchronous monitoring of 6 strains (ranging from -2000 to 2000 μΕ) across the TL cross-section. Through finite element simulation experiments, a mapping relationship between the bending of TL and the plane principal strain has been established. After completing the sensor calibration, an experimental platform for the freeze-thaw process of ice accretion on the TL was built. The relationships between ice mass and bending strain, as well as the ice shape on the TL cross-section (C-shaped and circular ice) and plane principal strain, were studied. Furthermore, a BP neural network model was developed to determine the 4 states of the icing process (no ice/freeze/stable/thaw), achieving an accuracy of 91.23%. This study provides effective monitoring of the freeze-thaw process of ice accretion on the TL, offering important technical support for the prevention and control of ice accretion in power grid. Multi-stage Dynamic Post-disaster Recovery Strategy for Distribution Networks Considering Integrated Energy and Transportation Networks

A constant quasi-zero stiffness isolator with tension springs to isolate vibrations with ultralow frequency

Many types of quasi-zero stiffness (QZS) isolators have been developed to isolate vibrations with low frequencies. However, isolating vibrations with ultralow frequency as low as 1 Hz is still a great challenge even in laboratory tests due to the high damping of QZS prototypes. To address this issue, a novel isolator with intrinsically light damping is proposed by configurating tension springs and oblique bars. The linear or nonlinear negative stiffness generated by the horizontal tension springs and oblique bars counteracts the linear positive stiffness of the vertical tension springs to obtain the QZS-related features including nonlinear QZS, constant positive or negative dynamic stiffness, constant QZS, and constant zero stiffness. Two QZS conditions are derived and the influence of parameters on QZS is thoroughly studied. The proposed isolator with tension springs has obvious differences from the previous isolator with compression springs in terms of QZS conditions, as well as force and stiffness expressions. Then, the displacement transmissibility is calculated by using the increment harmonic balance method and the continuous arc-length algorithm, which is verified by the classical harmonic balance method. These methods have the same prediction result. Finally, a prototype is fabricated and tested. The smoother force curves with constant QZS and the higher transmissibility amplitude can be obtained in tests compared to the previous isolator with compression springs under the same configuration parameters, which verifies the theoretical formulations of the proposed isolator with light damping. The prototype is further improved by replacing linear bearings with sliders to reduce the frictional effects. As a result, vibrations with ultralow frequencies lower than 1 Hz are successfully isolated. There is a significant gap between the academic research and practical application of urban distribution network planning. In general, the distribution network planning in academic research does not consider the impact of real street layout on planning, which makes most distribution network models difficult to apply in practice. In addition, the planning of substations and feeders in urban distribution network planning is often carried out separately, which often leads to suboptimal planning results. The objective function that is often used in academia is also difficult to meet the needs of field planners. Aiming at the above problems, this paper proposes a joint planning model of substations and feeders in urban distribution network considering real street layout, fully considers the influence of real street layout on feeders and substations planning. The model uses the minimum load moment as the objective function and further improves it. The proposed model is recast as a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) problem, and it can be solved by the state-of-art commercial solver. The effectiveness and validity of the proposed model are illustrated on a 16-block test system. © 2023 IEEE.

Decarbonization in the power sector is one of the critical factors in achieving carbon neutrality,and the top-level design needs to be carried out from the perspective of power planning.A multi-stage provincial power expansion planning(PPEP)model is proposed to simulate the power expansion planning at different stages of the power systems rich in renewable energy *** model covers 16 types of power supply,considering macro-policy demands and micro-operation *** stand-alone capacity aggregation model for coal-based units within the PPEP model allows for accurate construction and retirement with different stand-alone ***,the soft dynamic time warping(soft-DTW)based K-medoids technique is adopted to generate typical scenarios for balancing the model accuracy and solution ***,a multi-market trading equilibrium(MMTE)mechanism is proposed to address the differences in the levelized cost of energy between the coal-based and renewable-based units by participating in energy and ancillary service *** the coalbased units take on the task of providing ancillary services from renewable-based units in the ancillary service market,the MMTE mechanism can effectively equalize the profits of both by having renewable-based units purchase ancillary services from coal-based units and pay for them,thus improving the motivation of coal-based units.A case study in Xinjiang province,China,verifies the effectiveness of the planning results of the PPEP model and the profit equilibrium realization of the MMTE mechanism.
