Aiming at the problem of low semantic segmentation accuracy of tiny targets in UAV aerial images, a bilateral semantic segmentation network T-BiseNetv2 is proposed. The proposed segmentation network is based on BiseNetv2, and the Transformer structure is introduced into semantic branch, and the detail branch and feature fusion module are reconstructed, which improves the network’s capacity to capture both global context information and local semantic information. Several semantic segmentation experiments are conducted on the standard semantic segmentation dataset UAVID, experimental results show that the proposed semantic segmentation network T-BiseNetv2 has a MIoU of 69.52%, which is about 2.2% higher than the original BiseNetv2 network. Especially, for "Human", the IoU of TBiseNetv2 is about 4.3% higher than that of the popular UNetFormer. © 2023 SPIE.

The decoding success rate may be worse when classical degree distributions are used in short-packet transmission of rateless codes, especially in industrial communication scenarios. A novel Boltzmann degree distribution is proposed for Luby Transform (LT) codes. The Boltzmann degree distribution has a high decoding success rate for short-packet transmission but a lower decoding success rate in long-packet transmission. To balance the performance of rateless codes for short and long packet transmission, the Boltzmann degree distribution and the robust soliton distribution (RSD) are combined with a new joint degree distribution, called Boltzmann Robust Soliton Distribution (BRSD). Simulation results show that compared with RSD and Poisson robust soliton distribution (PRSD), the proposed joint distribution can achieve a higher decoding success rate and reduce the average degree, especially in short-packet transmission of industrial communication. © 2024 IEEE.

The motion primitive-based state lattice trajectory planning method has been widely used in the field of trajectory planning. However, due to the limitations of the search space and resolution of motion primitives, and the lack of consideration of scenario information during offline generation of motion primitives, the tractor-Trailer vehicles can easily fall into "jackknife phenomenon"when making large pose adjustments in narrow scenarios, which brings dilemma for trajectory planning. In this paper, a trajectory planning algorithm is proposed based on a general model of tractor-Trailer vehicle, which combines global planning and local optimization. The method first generates a series of motion primitives, including forward and backward driving conditions, and then an A based global state lattice planner is used to obtain a planning result, which is imported as the initial solution into the local trajectory optimizer based on PI2-CMA (Path Integral Policy Improvement with Covariance Matrix Adaptation) algorithm and dynamic potential method. Experiments show that this method significantly improves the performance in the obstacle avoidance, "jackknife phenomenon"avoidance and curvature compared to traditional motion primitive-based state lattice planning methods. © 2023 IEEE.

To improve the safety of stage lifts' operation and reduce the failure rate, a digital-twin assisted fault prediction method is proposed here. Signals such as vibration and temperature are collected from the virtual and physical models. A fault prediction model based on Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) is constructed to identify the potential faults of stage lift. The experiment results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed model. It would enhance the safety and stability of stage equipment, and provide reliable support for stage performances. © 2024 IEEE.

Virtual Reality Head-Mounted Display (HMD), also known as VR glasses, is a typical amusement device that provides an immersive viewing experience based on virtual reality technology in cultural tourism equipment. Various factors may cause users to experience different degrees of sensory discomfort when using VR head-mounted displays, posing potential safety risks during performances. This study focuses on typical VR glasses used in cultural tourism performances and evaluates user comfort as the primary indicator. Through subjective evaluation experiment design, it examines the impact of motion conditions, internal scene settings, and VR glasses configuration on users' comfort perception. The research aims to provide theoretical analysis and experimental data to reduce performance safety risks. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to effectively utilize the wind energy, the max power point tracking (MPPT) control method has been extensively used in the wind power system. The MPPT control in the wind power system is actually to control the power electronic converters connected with the wind turbine. However, due to the existing of the power switching devices, the converters were the typical nonlinear system. The traditional linearization modeling methods of the converters cannot represent the working process of the system accurately and the control strategies based on the linearization model of the converters only guarantee the satisfactory performance of system near the predefined working point. They were not suitable to the wind power MPPT system, which has the variable wind speeds and the variable max power points. This paper proposes a power switching control method based on a novel power switched model of the wind power MPPT system with Boost converter. The main contributions of the work are: (1) The proposed power switched model realizes the accurate description of the converter working process, which directly focus on the power states of the wind power system. (2) The proposed switching control method realizes the direct power switching control of the converter of the wind power MPPT system. The merits of the proposed method are simple control structure, no control parameter, no pulse width modulation block and strong robustness under circuit parameters uncertainty. The simulation results verify the effectiveness and the superiority of the proposed methods. © 2022 IEEE.

Avatars, as promising digital representations and service assistants of users in Metaverses, can enable drivers and passengers to immerse themselves in 3D virtual services and spaces of UAV-assisted vehicular Metaverses. However, avatar tasks include a multitude of human-to-avatar and avatar-to-avatar interactive applications, e.g., augmented reality navigation,which consumes intensive computing resources. It is inefficient and impractical for vehicles to process avatar tasks locally. Fortunately, migrating avatar tasks to the nearest roadside units(RSU)or unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV) for execution is a promising solution to decrease computation overhead and reduce task processing latency, while the high mobility of vehicles brings challenges for vehicles to independently perform avatar migration decisions depending on current and future vehicle status. To address these challenges, in this paper, we propose a novel avatar task migration system based on multi-agent deep reinforcement learning(MADRL) to execute immersive vehicular avatar tasks dynamically. Specifically, we first formulate the problem of avatar task migration from vehicles to RSUs/UAVs as a partially observable Markov decision process that can be solved by MADRL algorithms. We then design the multi-agent proximal policy optimization(MAPPO) approach as the MADRL algorithm for the avatar task migration problem. To overcome slow convergence resulting from the curse of dimensionality and non-stationary issues caused by shared parameters in MAPPO, we further propose a transformer-based MAPPO approach via sequential decision-making models for the efficient representation of relationships among agents. Finally, to motivate terrestrial or non-terrestrial edge servers(e.g., RSUs or UAVs) to share computation resources and ensure traceability of the sharing records, we apply smart contracts and blockchain technologies to achieve secure sharing management. With the advancement of video analysis technology, the multi-object tracking (MOT) problem in complex scenes involving pedestrians is gaining increasing importance. This challenge primarily involves two key tasks: pedestrian detection and re-identification. While significant progress has been achieved in pedestrian detection tasks in recent years, enhancing the effectiveness of re-identification tasks remains a persistent challenge. This difficulty arises from the large total number of pedestrian samples in multi-object tracking datasets and the scarcity of individual instance samples. Motivated by recent rapid advancements in meta-learning techniques, we introduce MAML MOT, a meta-learning-based training approach for multi-object tracking. This approach leverages the rapid learning capability of meta-learning to tackle the issue of sample scarcity in pedestrian re-identification tasks, aiming to improve the model's generalization performance and robustness. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves high accuracy on mainstream datasets in the MOT Challenge. This offers new perspectives and solutions for research in the field of pedestrian multi-object tracking. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper studied the distributed group coordinated control problem of cyber-physical systems (CPSs) with multi-agent architecture. We build the distributed networked multi-group agent systems (NMGASs) with nonlinear and unknown dynamics via cloud edge computing. The common and challenging situations of random communication constraints in CPSs are considered, including network-induced delay, packet dropout, and packet disorder, which are treated as round-trip time (RTT) delay. To actively compensate for RTT delay and achieve coordination among all agents, a data-driven cloud edge predicted control strategy is designed. This strategy only needs to obtain the I/O measurement data of the systems, and can automatically carry out adaptive learning, which has more extensive application scenarios compared to model-based control methods. Theoretical analysis yields the conditions of simultaneous stability and consensus of the closed-loop systems with the proposed strategy. Finally, the practical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. © 2023 IEEE.
