Accurate voltage prediction for all-vanadium redox batteries (VRBs) affects the efficiency and safety of battery. In this paper, we propose a self-attention-based dual-stream neural network (SA-DSNN) model for voltage prediction under various working conditions. This approach independently processes temporal and condition data streams to reduce the noise interference. Using neural networks tailored to each of stream can more effectively extract intrinsic features. In particular, self-attention mechanisms are employed to enhance critical information. The features from both streams are fully integrated in output layer to generate final predictions. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method enhances the generalization and accuracy of VRBs model across different time scale.

Random feature (RF) has been widely used for node consistency in decentralized kernel ridge regression (KRR). Currently, the consistency is guaranteed by imposing constraints on coefficients of features, necessitating that the random features on different nodes are identical. However, in many applications, data on different nodes varies significantly on the number or distribution, which calls for adaptive and data-dependent methods that generate different RFs. To tackle the essential difficulty, we propose a new decentralized KRR algorithm that pursues consensus on decision functions, which allows great flexibility and well adapts data on nodes. The convergence is rigorously given and the effectiveness is numerically verified: by capturing the characteristics of the data on each node, while maintaining the same communication costs as other methods, we achieved an average regression accuracy improvement of 25.5% across six real-world data sets. Time series data mining is an important problem in data mining. It discovers the intrinsic correlation rules by analyzing a large amount of time series data. However, high-frequency data may exist in the dataset. High-frequency data is the data that occurs frequently in time series data, which will affect the mining of association rules. Traditional time series association mining tends to classify high-frequency data as correlated data because they co-occur too many times. In this paper, we propose the list mining framework to mine the association data by list co-occurrence to achieve the mining of massive data. We divide it into three phases, list generation phase, matrix generation phase, and rule generation phase. First, we create data lists based on time windows. Second, we create the initial count matrix, update the count matrix based on the list, and propose a GCPM algorithm to generate a conditional probability matrix based on the count matrix. Third, we propose a List Mining (LM) algorithm to generate the initial rules based on the conditional probability matrix and optimize the initial rules to get the final association rules. In addition, we weigh the rules according to the list mining method and propose a Weighted List Mining (WLM) algorithm to filter rules by reducing the weight of frequent item interference. The experimental results show that LM and WLM can effectively improve the accuracy of mining results. © 2022 IEEE.

Forest vegetation is an important place for energy conversion and material cycle, and leaf area index (LAI) is an important parameter to describe the process of plant canopy function. In this paper, with the support of computer technology such as VC, the LAI of Fujian Province from 2001 to 2017 was analyzed and studied by using MODIS remote sensing data with 500 m resolution every 8 days. The results showed that the vegetation growth was the most vigorous in the 200–800 m terrain. The evergreen coniferous forest was mainly distributed in the northwest of Fujian Province, while the mixed forest in the interior. The seasonal mean value of LAI for many years reaching 3.5was the highest in the summer and autumn;the second highest was in the spring, with the mean value of LAI reaching 2.0;the lowest was in the winter, with the mean value of LAI reaching 1.5. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Flight control system testing (FCST) is one of the most important testing during aircraft final assembly, however, traditional testing method highly rely on manual labor, resulting in low testing quality and efficiency. Targeting at improving the testing quality and efficiency, in this paper, we apply digtial twin (DT) technology in the FCST process for the first time. A virtual experimental platform named DT-FCST is constructed which is identical to a real wing experimental platform, supporting testing elements management and physical-virtual mapping experiments. The development process of the DT-FCST platform is detailed. Several experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of DT technology. Based on motion scripts integrating real-time data from the cockpit, the cockpit control sticks and flight control surfaces are driven to achieve consistency between physical and virtual motions. With the help of DT technology, the entire movement process of control sticks and flight control surfaces are mapped with high fidelity in the DT-FCST platform, greatly enhancing the testing efficiency and monitoring quality.

Wireless/wired integrated transmission for industrial cyber-physical systems: risk-sensitive co-design of 5G and TSN protocols

The growing popularity of intelligent manufacturing is driven by deterministic transmission demands of applications in industrial cyber-physical systems(ICPS). However, the ossified shortages of industrial wireless communication such as diverse quality of service(Qo S) and complex signaling processes incur a severe long tail of transmission delay distribution. As a solution, the 5 th generation(5 G) wireless communication technology provides ultra-reliable and low-latency communication(URLLC) for industry scenarios. Moreover, the newly proposed time-sensitive networking(TSN) standards guarantee the transmission determinacy by gate mechanism. In this paper, we propose a heterogeneous time-sensitive network(HTSN) co-designed by 5 G and TSN. We first develop a predictive multi-priority wireless scheduling mechanism based on semi-persistent scheduling(SPS) to reduce signaling delay by reserving resources in *** we propose an adaptive data injection mechanism for TSN based on per-stream filtering and policing(PSFP), which dynamically adjusts the priority of data for queue injection in TSN. To further reduce the long tail of delay, we employ a risk-sensitive learning method to improve the worst-case delay. Simulations on a hot rolling production scenario demonstrate that the proposed mechanisms under HTSN achieve great performance in terms of integrated delay and resource utilization.

Aviation electrical connectors are critically important components in electrical wiring interconnection systems. Currently, connector defect detection relies entirely on manual inspection, which is error-prone and time-consuming. Due to the unique structural characteristics of aviation connectors, single-modality sensors often struggle to simultaneously detect both pins and holes. To address this issue, we propose a 3D skewed pins detection (3D-SPD) algorithm that integrates both 2D and 3D modals features. Due to the low quality of the raw connector data, we propose a connector point cloud enhancement (CPCE) algorithm that combines multi-view point clouds for point cloud fusion enhancement. Based on enhanced data, we perform skewed pin detection. Experimental results indicate that CPCE and 3D-SPD are effective in detecting skewed pins, achieving an accuracy rate exceeding 99%. Our algorithm can be deployed as an AI assistant on the edge device for the skewed pin detection.

Murals are an important part of China's cultural heritage. Because of their age, Dunhuang murals have suffered from discoloration, fading and damage. With the development of computer image restoration technology, digital image processing provides strong support for mural restoration. Although there are many research results in the field of ancient mural images, there is no pre-trained model based on ancient mural images available for migration. There is a method for Dunhuang murals image restoration based on Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) with improved ResNet50 structure as an encoder in the generator. This research result proposes a generative adversarial network model with a parallel double convolutional extraction of deep features for the generator, combined with a ternary heterogeneous joint discriminator. On this basis, this paper proposes a binary classification task to distinguish ancient mural images from modern natural style images, so that the model pre-learns features such as color, texture, and structure of mural images, which are inputted into the restoration network as a priori information, in order to achieve the effect of reducing the probability of incomplete restoration of the model, and better generalization ability. The experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper has an overall improvement in the evaluation indexes such as Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR) and Structural Similarities(SSIM) when compared with other methods, and the restored images are more in line with human subjective vision, which proves the validity of the method. © 2024 IEEE.

Neural network-based image coding has been developing rapidly since its birth. Until 2022, its performance has surpassed that of the best-performing traditional image coding framework – H.266/VVC. Witnessing such success, the IEEE 1857.11 working subgroup initializes a neural network-based image coding standard project and issues a corresponding call for proposals (CfP). In response to the CfP, this paper introduces a novel wavelet-like transform-based end-to-end image coding framework – iWaveV3. iWaveV3 incorporates many new features such as affine wavelet-like transform, perceptual-friendly quality metric, and more advanced training and online optimization strategies into our previous wavelet-like transform-based framework iWave++. While preserving the features of supporting lossy and lossless compression simultaneously, iWaveV3 also achieves state-of-the-art compression efficiency for objective quality and is very competitive for perceptual quality. As a result, iWaveV3 is adopted as a candidate scheme for developing the IEEE Standard for neural-network-based image coding. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Colorectal cancer is a common malignancy. In colonoscopy images, computer-assisted polyp segmentation helps doctors diagnose and treat disorders more precisely. In recent years, some methods based on deep convolutional neural networks have made significant breakthroughs in this task. However, only a few algorithms explicitly consider the effect of light intensity on segmentation performance, which results in algorithms needing to be more robust for complex samples. This paper proposes a neural network combining a simple encoding structure with a reverse attention module. Specifically, the model uses HarDNet68 as the backbone network, adds a camouflage identification module (CIM) to enhance the capture of polyp details on the underlying features, and finally utilizes adaptive feature fusion with the reverse attention module (RAM). The proposed model effectively addresses the challenge of poor segmentation quality in colonoscopy images caused by inconsistent illumination. Extensive experiments on five datasets show that the proposed model performs well in polyp segmentation. © 2023 IEEE.
