High-speed physical key distribution is diligently pursued for secure *** this paper,we propose and experimentally demonstrate a scheme of high-speed key distribution using mode-shift keying chaos synchronization between two multi-longitudinal-mode Fabry–Perot lasers commonly driven by a super-luminescent *** users dynamically select one of the longitudinal modes according to private control codes to achieve mode-shift keying chaos *** two remote chaotic light waveforms are quantized to generate two raw random bit streams,and then those bits corresponding to chaos synchronization are sifted as shared keys by comparing the control *** this method,the transition time,i.e.,the chaos synchronization recovery time is determined by the rising time of the control codes rather than the laser transition response time,so the key distribution rate is improved *** experiment achieved a 0.75-Gbit/s key distribution rate with a bit error rate of 3.8×10^(−3)over 160-km fiber transmission with dispersion *** entropy rate of the laser chaos is evaluated as 16 Gbit/s,which determines the ultimate final key rate together with the key generation *** is therefore believed that the method pays a way for Gbit/s physical key distribution.

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are essential for gene expression, and the complex RNA-protein interaction mechanisms require analysis of global RNA information. Therefore, accurate prediction of RBP binding sites on full-length RNA transcripts is crucial for understanding these mechanisms and their roles in diseases. While machine learning methods can predict RBP binding to RNA fragments, extending this to full-length transcripts presents challenges due to sequence length and data imbalance. In this paper, we introduce RBP-Former, a binding site joint prediction model designed specifically for full-length RNA transcripts that can be used for multiple RBPs. This model processes information at both coarse and fine-grained levels to fully exploit sequence data and its interactions with multiple RBPs. We develop multi-level imbalance learning strategies, achieving favorable results on imbalanced data. Our method outperforms existing methods in predicting binding sites on full-length RNA transcripts for multiple RBPs, demonstrating its effectiveness in handling imbalanced label and sample distributions.

In this work, we consider the consensus problem of the multi-agent system over matrix-weighted networks using an event-triggered mechanism. An event-triggered coordination strategy is proposed to steer this generalized category of multi-agent systems towards the bipartite consensus state. The triggering condition is periodically checked and distributed in the sense that the event detector only uses neighbors' information and local computation at discrete sampling instants. Moreover, it is shown that the triggering condition is closely related to the spectrum of matrix-valued weights corresponding to the edges in the matrix-weighted network. In the meantime, the Zeno phenomenon can be avoided automatically under the proposed event trigger approach. © 2021 IEEE

The earth observation satellite scheduling has always been critical for the maximum use of limited satellite resources, which basically includes scheduling ground target observation and observation data downloading. Due to the complexity of the mathematical model and its NP-hardness, current research usually splits it into two problems to simplify the model. In this paper, we propose a model of the integrated scheduling problem of satellite observation and data downloading (ISP-SODD) based on the decentralized partially observable Markov decision process (Dec-POMDP), treating each satellite as an agent with autonomous decision-making capability. A multi-agent deep reinforcement learning-based (MADRL-based) algorithm is proposed to solve it. A series of simulation experiments of different scales validate the effectiveness of the method and its advantages compared with the traditional heuristic algorithms. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first attempt to apply multi-agent reinforcement learning to a multi-satellite scheduling scenario with downloading considerations.

When matching similarity among pedestrians in images, pedestrian re-identification algorithms are often disturbed by occlusions. A typical tactic is to improve the robustness of occlusion features in the model. However, this approach neglects the noise introduced by other pedestrians in the image, leading to limited learning of relevant information between images. To address these issues, this paper introduces a pedestrian re-identification model that leverages perception-enhanced and attention mechanisms. By enhancing the perception of non-pedestrian noise and erasing non-pedestrian features, we then employ a cross-attention mechanism to subtly embed global and local features for finer feature recognition. Finally, through context attention, we learn the interaction between pedestrian images to improve re-identification accuracy. Results from studies performed on the Market-1501, CUHK03-D, and Duke-ReID datasets indicate that the suggested model surpasses leading contemporary models regarding Rank-1 scores and mean Average Precision (mAP), while maintaining good robustness. © 2024 IEEE.

Common-signal-induced synchronization of semiconductor lasers have promising applications in physical-layer secure transmission with high speed and compatibility with the current fiber ***,we propose an ultra-long-distance laser synchronization scheme by utilizing random digital optical communication signal as the common drive *** utilizing the long-haul optical coherent communication techniques,high-fidelity fiber transmission of the digital drive can be achieved and thus ultra-long-distance synchronization is *** were implemented with distributed feedback lasers injected by a random-digital phase-modulated drive *** show that high-quality synchronization can be achieved as the drive signal rate is larger than the laser relaxation frequency and the transmission bit error ratio is below a critical *** synchronization over 8191-km fiber transmission was experimentally *** to traditional common-signal-induced synchronization using analog drive signal such as chaos,the distance is increased by 8 times,and complicated hardware devices for channel impairment compensation are no longer *** addition,the proposed method does not sacrifice communication capacity like traditional methods which need a channel to transmit analog drive *** is therefore believed that this common-digital-signal induced laser synchronization paves a way for secure backbone and submarine transmission.

REInstruct: Building Instruction Data from Unlabeled Corpus

Manually annotating instruction data for large language models is difficult, costly, and hard to scale. Meanwhile, current automatic annotation methods typically rely on distilling synthetic data from proprietary LLMs, which not only limits the upper bound of the quality of the instruction data but also raises potential copyright issues. In this paper, we propose REInstruct, a simple and scalable method to automatically build instruction data from an unlabeled corpus without heavy reliance on proprietary LLMs and human annotation. Specifically, REInstruct first selects a subset of unlabeled texts that potentially contain well-structured helpful and insightful content and then generates instructions for these texts. To generate accurate and relevant responses for effective and robust training, REInstruct further proposes a rewriting-based approach to improve the quality of the generated instruction data. By training Llama-7b on a combination of 3k seed data and 32k synthetic data from REInstruct, finetuned model achieves a 65.41% win rate on AlpacaEval leaderboard against text-davinci-003, outperforming other open-source, non-distilled instruction data construction methods. Estimating the pose information on moving vehi-cles is one of the most fundamental functions of autonomous driving for detecting and tracking moving objects. The current methods are often based on the prior information of the point cloud distribution, however, the distribution in the actual scene changes dynamically, and is easy not to meet a priori. This paper proposes a 3D pose estimation method based on heuristic rules. In a single frame point cloud, the edge length and edge visibility are used to heuristically screen the candidate orientations established by the convex hull sampling method. On consecutive frame point clouds, tracking heuristics are employed to obtain smoother orientation estimation results. The experimental results on the KITTI dataset and the data from the actual scene of vehicles show that the proposed method reduces the average object-orientation error and improves the accuracy of estimation effectively. © 2022 IEEE.
