The degradation of certain components within DC-DC power supplies can lead to abnormal performance, resulting in the occurrence of faults. The degradation of components can cause changes in output voltage and current, and the different degradation characteristics of components have different impacts on the characteristics of output parameters. Therefore, it is necessary to master this impact relationship, that is, the fault propagation mechanism can be used to effectively diagnose faults and manage health. Studying the fault propagated mechanism is an important prerequisite for fault diagnosis. Output terminals of DC-DC power supply are usually connected in parallel with electrolytic capacitors. The function of electrolytic capacitors is to filter, filtering out most of the AC part of the output voltage, and reducing the ripple of the output voltage. Electrolytic capacitors are the most vulnerable components to failure in switching power supplies, with approximate 60% of failed components being electrolytic capacitors. Therefore, the fault propagation mechanism of electrolytic capacitors is a key research topic. Most research focuses on the fault propagation mechanism based on steady-state output signals. This article studies the fault propagation mechanism based on transient output signals. Through experimental testing, the impact of parameter degradation of electrolytic capacitors on the transient waveform of output voltage and the mapping relationship between capacitor degraded parameters and transient waveform are studied. The method is to analyze the voltage waveform when the current step changes using equivalent degradated experiments of capacitors. Its advantage lies in the fact that transient waveforms are more sensitive than steady-state waveforms and require lower sampling rates, making it easier to analyze the degradated characteristics of electrolytic capacitors. To improve the selective separation performance of silica nanofibers(SiO_(2)NFs)for cesium ions(Cs+)and overcome the defects of Prussian blue nanoparticles(PB NPs),PB/SiO_(2)-NH_(2)NFs were prepared to remove Cs^(+)from *** them,3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane(APTES)underwent an alkylation reaction with SiO_(2),resulting in the formation of a dense Si-O-Si network structure that decorated the surface of SiO_(2)***,the amino functional groups in APTES combined with Fe3+and then reacted with Fe2+to form PB NPs,which anchored firmly on the aminoated SiO_(2)NFs *** our experiment,the maxi-mumadsorption capacity of PB/SiO_(2)-NH_(2)NFs was 111.38 mg/g,which was 31.5mg/g higher than that of SiO_(2)*** the same time,after the fifth cycle,the removal rate of Cs^(+)by PB/SiO_(2)-NH_(2)NFs adsorbent was 75.36%±3.69%.In addition,the adsorption isotherms and adsorption kinetics of PB/SiO_(2)-NH_(2)NFs were combined with the Freundlich model and the quasi-two-stage fitting model,*** mechanism analysis showed that the bond between PB/SiO_(2)-NH_(2)NFs and Cs^(+)was mainly a synergistic action of ion exchange,electrostatic adsorption and membrane separation.

Chlorine has been widely used in different advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)for micropollutants *** this study,different chlorine-based AOPs,namely medium pressure(MP)UV/chlorine,low pressure(LP)UV/chlorine,and in-situ chlorination,were compared for carbamazepine(CBZ)removal efficiency,energy consumption,and disinfection by-products(DBPs)*** three processes could achieve nearly 100%CBZ removal,while the reaction time needed by in-situ chlorination was double the time required by UV/chlorine *** energy consumed per magnitude of CBZ removed(EE/O)of MP UV/chlorine was 13 times higher than that of LP UV/chlorine,and relative to that of in-situ chlorination ***,MP and LP UV/chlorine processes generated one to two orders of magnitude more hydroxyl radicals(^(·)OH)and reactive chlorine species(RCS)than in-situ ***,RCS were the dominant reactive species,contributing to 78.3%,75.6%,and 71.6% of CBZ removal in MP,LP UV/chlorine,and in-situ chlorination,*** to the Gibbs free energy barriers between CBZ and RCS/^(·)OH calculated based on density functional theory(DFT),RCS had more reaction routes with CBZ and showed lower energy barrier in the main CBZ degradation pathways like epoxidation and formation of *** applied to secondary wastewater effluent,UV/chlorine and in-situ chlorination produced overall DBPs ranging from 104.77 to 135.41μg/***,the production of chlorate during UV/chlorine processes was 15 times higher than that during in-situ chlorination.

The influence of minor environmental factors,such as the geomagnetic field,on the biomineralization of nacres,is often ignored but a great deal of research has confirmed its important role in the normal mineralization of calcium *** the geomagnetic field is weak,its cumulative effects need to be considered given that the biomineralization process can take ***,the authors of this paper have investigated the effects of weak magnetic fields(25 Gs or 50 Gs)on calcium carbonate mineralization and analyzed the mechanism *** results show that even a weak magnetic field conduces to the formation of vaterite or aragonite,in the induction order of precursor→vaterite→*** stronger the magnetic field and the longer the time,the more obvious the induction *** effect of a magnetic field is strongest in the aging stage and weakest in the solution *** by egg-white protein and by a magnetic field inhibit each other,but they both restrict particle *** findings highlight the importance of minor environmental factors for biomineralization and can serve as a reference for biomimetic preparation of a CaCO_(3)nacre-like structure and for anti-scale technology for circulating cooling water.

Effects of the windshield inclination angle on head/brain injuries in car-to-pedestrian collisions using computational biomechanics models

Car-to-pedestrian collision(CPC)accidents occur frequently,and pedestrians often suffer serious head/brain *** major cause is the primary impact with the ***,we use an umerical sim ulation method to study the influence of the windshield in-clination angle of a passenger car on pedestrian head/brain injury due to CPC *** range of the windshield inclination angle was set at 24°-50°,with an interval of 2°.The results show that the windshield angle significantly affects the pedestrian kine-matics and exerts different effects on the head injury when evaluating with various head injury *** the head peak linear/rotational acceleration and acceleration-based head injury criterion(HIC)/rotational injury criterion(RIC),the predictions at the secondary impact stage have no clear relationship with the windshield angle(R^(2)=0.04,0.07,0.03 and 0.26,respectively)and their distributions are *** the primary impact,the peak linear acceleration and HIC show a weak trend of first decreasing and then increasing with the increasing of the windshield angle,and the rotational acceleration and RIC tend to remain relatively *** the cum ulative strain dama ge measure(CSDM)criterion,the predictions at the primary impact are slightly lower than those at the secondary impact,and the trend of first decreasing and then increasing with the increase in the windshield angle is observed at both impact *** the windshield inclination angle is approximately 32°-40°,the head injury severity in both impact phases is generally lower than that predicted at other windshield angles.

The auxiliary power module (APM) of electric vehicles (EV s) provides power for the 12 V battery system. Since the EV s are becoming more intelligent and versatile, the increasing load requires a compact size, lightweight, and high-efficiency APM. Gallium nitride (GaN), as a kind of wide bandgap power device, has the advantages of low loss, zero reverse recovery current, etc. The aforementioned features enable GaN HEMTs to be a good solution for next-generation EV auxiliary power modules. This paper aims to design and optimize a 2.5 kW, 400/12 V APM using GaN HEMTs. It employs a dual active bridge DC-DC converter as the topology. The hardware and the magnetic components are optimized via theoretical analysis and simulation. Due to the large output current., extended phase-shift control is employed to minimize the current stress on the power devices. The experimental results have validated the theoretical analysis and the hardware optimization. © 2024 IEEE.

Pumping and sliding of droplets steered by a hydrogel pattern for atmospheric water harvesting

Atmospheric water harvesting is an emerging strategy for decentralized and potable water supplies. However,water nucleation and microdroplet coalescence on condensing surfaces often result in surface flooding owing to the lack of a sufficient directional driving force for shedding. Herein, inspired by the fascinating properties of lizards and catfish, we present a condensing surface with engineered hydrogel patterns that enable rapid and sustainable water harvesting through the directional pumping and drag-reduced sliding of water droplets. The movement of microscale condensed droplets is synergistically driven by the surface energy gradient and difference in Laplace pressure induced by the arch hydrogel patterns. Meanwhile, the superhydrophilic hydrogel surface can strongly bond inner-layer water molecules to form a lubricant film that reduces drag and facilitates the sliding of droplets off the condensing surface. Thus, this strategy is promising for various water purification techniques based on liquid–vapor phase-change processes.
