The PandaX-4T liquid xenon detector at the China Jinping Underground laboratory is used to measure the solar B8 neutrino flux by detecting neutrinos through coherent scattering with xenon nuclei. data samples requiring the coincidence of scintillation and ionization signals (paired), as well as unpaired ionization-only signals (US2), are selected with energy threshold of approximately 1.1 keV (0.33 keV) nuclear recoil energy. Combining the commissioning run and the first science run of PandaX-4T, a total exposure of 1.20 and 1.04 tonne·year are collected for the paired and US2, respectively. After unblinding, 3 and 332 events are observed with an expectation of 2.8±0.5 and 251±32 background events, for the paired and US2 data, respectively. A combined analysis yields a best-fit B8 neutrino signal of 3.5 (75) events from the paired (US2) data sample, with ∼37% uncertainty, and the background-only hypothesis is disfavored at 2.64σ significance. This gives a solar B8 neutrino flux of (8.4±3.1)×106 cm−2 s−1, consistent with the standard solar model prediction. It is also the first indication of solar B8 neutrino “fog” in a dark matter direct detection experiment.

We report the first search for the elastic scatterings between cosmic-ray boosted sub-MeV dark matter (DM) and electrons in the PandaX-4T liquid xenon experiment. Sub-MeV DM particles can be accelerated by scattering with electrons in the cosmic rays and produce detectable electron recoil signals in the detector. Using the commissioning data from PandaX-4T of 0.63 tonne·year exposure, we set new constraints on DM-electron scattering cross sections for DM masses ranging from 10 eV/c2 to 3 keV/c2.

The neutron capture measurement of natural rhenium was performed with the time-of-flight technique at the Back-n facility of the China Spallation Neutron Source in the energy range from 1 to 500 eV of the resolved resonance region (RRR) and from 5 to 400 keV in the unresolved resonance region (URR). Prompt γ-rays originating from neutron-induced capture events were detected by four C6D6 detectors. The pulse height weighting technique and the double-bunch unfolding method based on the Bayesian theory were used in the data analysis. To obtain reliable measurement results, background subtraction, normalization, and corrections were carefully considered. The multilevel R-matrix Bayesian code SAMMY was used to extract the resonance parameters in the RRR. An absence of resonance near 392 eV is observed in our measurement, which has been observed in previous works. The average cross sections in the URR of natural rhenium relative to Au197 were obtained in logarithmical equidistant energy bins with 20 bins per energy decade. The talys code was used to describe the average cross sections in the URR; the Maxwellian-averaged cross sections (MACSs) of Re185 and Re187 are given from kT=5 to 100 keV. At a thermal energy of kT=30 keV, the MACS value for Re185 (1469±127 mb) is in good agreement with the Karlsruhe Astrophysical database of Nucleosynthesis in Stars (KADoNIS) recommended value (1535±62 mb) within the error bars. By contrast, the value of 1361±118 mb for Re187 shows a discrepancy with the KADoNiS recommended value (1160±57 mb).

We present scTenifoldXct, a semi-supervised computational tool for detecting ligand-receptor (LR)-mediated cell-cell interactions and mapping cellular communication graphs. Our method is based on manifold alignment, using LR pairs as inter-data correspondences to embed ligand and receptor genes expressed in interacting cells into a unified latent space. Neural networks are employed to minimize the distance between corresponding genes while preserving the structure of gene regression networks. We apply scTenifoldXct to real datasets for testing and demonstrate that our method detects interactions with high consistency compared with other methods. More importantly, scTenifoldXct uncovers weak but biologically relevant interactions overlooked by other methods. We also demonstrate how scTenifoldXct can be used to compare different samples, such as healthy vs. diseased and wild type vs. knockout, to identify differential interactions, thereby revealing functional implications associated with changes in cellular communication status.

We report the results of a search for the B→Y(4260)K, Y(4260)→J/ψπ+π− decays. This study is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711 fb−1, collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider. We investigate the J/ψπ+π− invariant mass distribution in the range 4.0 to 4.6 GeV/c2 using both B+→J/ψπ+π−K+ and B0→J/ψπ+π−KS0 decays. We find excesses of events above the background levels, with significances of 2.1 and 0.9 standard deviations for charged and neutral B→Y(4260)K decays, respectively, taking into account the systematic uncertainties. These correspond to upper limits on the product of branching fractions, B(B+→Y(4260)K+)×B(Y(4260)→J/ψπ+π−)<1.4×10−5 and B(B0→Y(4260)K0)×B(Y(4260)→J/ψπ+π−)<1.7×10−5 at the 90% confidence level.

We report searches for the processes e+e−→π+π−π0χbJ and e+e−→ϕχbJ (J=1, 2) based on data samples collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB collider. We report the first observation of the process e+e−→(π+π−π0)non−ωχb1 and first evidence for e+e−→ωχbJ in the vicinity of the ϒ(11020) resonance, with center-of-mass energies from 10.96 to 11.05 GeV. The significances for (π+π−π0)non−ωχb1 and ωχbJ are greater than 5.3σ and 4.0σ, respectively. We also investigate the energy dependence of the e+e−→π+π−π0χbJ cross section, but we cannot determine whether the contributions are from the ϒ(10860) and ϒ(11020) resonances or nonresonant continuum processes. The signals for e+e−→ϕχbJ are not significant, and the upper limits of the Born cross sections at the 90% confidence level are 0.7 and 1.0 pb for e+e−→ϕχb1 and ϕχb2, respectively, for center-of-mass energies from 10.96 to 11.05 GeV.

We report a search for the charmless baryonic decay B0→pp¯π0 with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711 fb−1 containing (772±10)×106 BB¯ pairs. The data were collected by the Belle experiment running on the ϒ(4S) resonance at the KEKB e+e− collider. We measure a branching fraction B(B0→pp¯π0)=(5.0±1.8±0.6)×10−7, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The signal has a significance of 3.1 standard deviations and constitutes the first evidence for this decay mode. We also search for the intermediate two-body decays B0→Δ+p¯ and B0→Δ¯−p, and set an upper limit on the branching fraction, B(B0→Δ+p¯)+B(B0→Δ¯−p)<1.6×10−6 at 90% confidence level.

The measurement of two-particle angular correlation functions in high-multiplicity e+e− collisions at s=10.52 GeV is reported. In this study, the 89.5 fb−1 of hadronic e+e− annihilation data collected by the Belle detector at KEKB are used. Two-particle angular correlation functions are measured in the full relative azimuthal angle (Δϕ) and three units of pseudorapidity (Δη), defined by either the electron beam axis or the event-shape thrust axis, and are studied as a function of charged-particle multiplicity. The measurement in the thrust axis analysis, with mostly outgoing quark pairs determining the reference axis, is sensitive to the region of additional soft gluon emissions. No significant anisotropic collective behavior is observed with either coordinate analyses. Near-side jet correlations appear to be absent in the thrust axis analysis. The measurements are compared to predictions from various event generators and are expected to provide new constraints to the phenomenological models in the low-energy regime.
