Depressive disorders to some extent erode the mental and physical health of many individuals. There is a pressing need for new technologies to enhance the diagnosis as well as treatment of depression, which currently relies heavily on subjective reports and lacks precise classification for its subtypes. Anxiety-type depression is a subtype of depression that is clinically challenging to distinguish from non-anxiety-type depression. Statistical data indicates anxiety-type depression has a higher prevalence among university students, poses greater risks, and has more possibility of leading to suicidal tendencies. Research integrating neuroimaging with artificial intelligence for assisted diagnosis and treatment of anxiety-type depression holds significant clinical importance. This study collected fNIRS data from depression patients and evaluated classification performance using a deep learning measure based on the CNN framework, highlighting the extraction of the most significant feature associated with anxiety-type depression deficits. This work provides a valuable lens to understand the complexities of anxiety-type depression and design human-computer interaction treatment methods. Drawing on research in psychology and cognitive science, and recent advancements in cognitive intervention studies, we illustrate the demands of assisted diagnosis, requiring a high degree of intelligent treatment of depression. We propose addressing these demands by designing and integrating a social-assistive chatbot that employs CBT for treating anxiety-type depression into a comprehensive agent system.

Recently, stochastic computing (SC) is increasingly popular in constructing MAC for on-edge DNNs benefiting from its outstanding energy-efficiency, including its adequate precision and gatelevel operation. However, current SC-DNN systems always include a lot of costly SNGs/APCs for inevitably switches between binary and stochastic domains, which mortgages incongruous resources to pay the "bill" of the domain-switches and impedes highly-concurrent deployments. In this work, PseudoSC, a binary approximation to low-discrepancy SC, is proposed to totally remove the domain-switch for SNG/APC-free SC-DNNs. Its basic idea is to virtually re-arrange a couple of stochastic operands into a 2-D latent op-space, in which, original Monte Carlo sampling can be partitioned into three sub-ops, i.e., two fixed binary-ops and a fractal recursion. In theory, the recursion forms an isomorphic partition of the sampling repeated in smaller scales until the binary base-case achieved, as a result, a SC-op is well approximated only with binary-ops. Based on above theory, a multi-lane micro-architecture is designed to unroll the recursion within a few cycles and its advantages on hardware saving is verified under popular DNNs. The evaluation shows that the DNN-models with our schemes achieve 98.7% accuracy of the fixed-point implementations, which significantly outperform other SOTA methods. In addition, its reduced structure improves the power efficiency by 3.67 times on average.

In this paper, we propose a deep kernel embedded clustering network, namely DKEC, which learns data partitions with kernelized semantic embeddings of data samples via a self-supervised deep neural network. A kernelized semantic embedding learner is designed to learn high quality data representations, which not only capture the data semantic characteristics but also show good structural separable characteristics. Other than directly apply traditional predefined kernel mapping methods, the kernelized semantic embedding learner, investigated by a deep variational Gaussian process, is able to learn the kernel mapping according to the nature of various datasets automatically, while maintain reasonable computational complexity. The DKEC, which is an end-to-end deep clustering network, is invested based on the kernelized semantic embedding learner. A triplet self-supervised optimization objective is designed in the DKEC model to guide the clustering partition, the separable factor of the kernelized semantic embedding, and the data reconstruction factor of the kernelized semantic embedding, simultaneously. We conducted extensive experiments on $ 7 $ real-world datasets. The results unequivocally showcase the exceptional clustering performance of the proposed DKEC. © 2024, The Authors. Distilled Transformers with Locally Enhanced Global Representations for Face Forgery Detection

Face forgery detection (FFD) is devoted to detecting the authenticity of face images. Although current CNN-based works achieve outstanding performance in FFD, they are susceptible to capturing local forgery patterns generated by various manipulation methods. Though transformer-based detectors exhibit improvements in modeling global dependencies, they are not good at exploring local forgery artifacts. Hybrid transformer-based networks are designed to capture local and global manipulated traces, but they tend to suffer from the attention collapse issue as the transformer block goes deeper. Besides, soft labels are rarely available. In this paper, we propose a distilled transformer network (DTN) to capture both rich local and global forgery traces and learn general and common representations for different forgery faces. Specifically, we design a mixture of expert (MoE) module to mine various robust forgery embeddings. Moreover, a locally-enhanced vision transformer (LEVT) module is proposed to learn locally-enhanced global representations. We design a lightweight multi-attention scaling (MAS) module to avoid attention collapse, which can be plugged and played in any transformer-based models with only a slight increase in computational costs. In addition, we propose a deepfake self-distillation (DSD) scheme to provide the model with abundant soft label information. Extensive experiments show that the proposed method surpasses the state of the arts on five deepfake datasets. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

TCEIP: Text Condition Embedded Regression Network for Dental Implant Position Prediction

When deep neural network has been proposed to assist the dentist in designing the location of dental implant, most of them are targeting simple cases where only one missing tooth is available. As a result, literature works do not work well when there are multiple missing teeth and easily generate false predictions when the teeth are sparsely distributed. In this paper, we are trying to integrate a weak supervision text, the target region, to the implant position regression network, to address above issues. We propose a text condition embedded implant position regression network (TCEIP), to embed the text condition into the encoder-decoder framework for improvement of the regression performance. A cross-modal interaction that consists of cross-modal attention (CMA) and knowledge alignment module (KAM) is proposed to facilitate the interaction between features of images and texts. The CMA module performs a cross-attention between the image feature and the text condition, and the KAM mitigates the knowledge gap between the image feature and the image encoder of the CLIP. Extensive experiments on a dental implant dataset through five-fold cross-validation demonstrated that the proposed TCEIP achieves superior performance than existing methods. This paper explores the size-invariance of evaluation metrics in Salient Object Detection (SOD), especially when multiple targets of diverse sizes co-exist in the same image. We observe that current metrics are size-sensitive, where larger objects are focused, and smaller ones tend to be ignored. We argue that the evaluation should be size-invariant because bias based on size is unjustified without additional semantic information. In pursuit of this, we propose a generic approach that evaluates each salient object separately and then combines the results, effectively alleviating the imbalance. We further develop an optimization framework tailored to this goal, achieving considerable improvements in detecting objects of different sizes. Theoretically, we provide evidence supporting the validity of our new metrics and present the generalization analysis of SOD. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. Intellectual property transactions have shown a strong growth momentum in recent years, but the patent transaction market has been plagued by the matching degree of consumers and sellers, resulting in frequent problems such as low patent transformation efficiency and poor transaction quality. This paper proposes a method of recommending patents to consumers by experts to improve the environment of patent transactions. Through the analysis of the past transaction information of the patent, the effective path information of the target is extracted. The graph neural network is used to describe the characteristics and semantics among experts, patents and consumers, and then capture the potential weight among them through the common attention mechanism, and then dynamically integrate them to predict the occurrence of recommendation behavior. The paper makes reasonable use of social information and expert information in the transaction, which significantly improves the rationality and accuracy of expert recommendation.

As the largest source of technical information around the world, patents are regarded as an essential crystallization and carrier of knowledge and technological innovation. Patent transformation is conducive not only to enhancing economic efficiency, but also to improving productivity and the rational utilization of resources. There is an imbalance between high patent ownership and low transformation rates. We try to predict the occurrence of transformation events from the patent assignment. However, there are some challenges in predicting patent transformation: (1) how to capture transformation features of patents, especially combined with the transfer time factor. (2) how to predict patent transfer time effectively. To address these challenges, a Patent Transfer Time Forecasting Model (PTTFM) is proposed. The model includes: (1) extraction of time-varying features of patents. (2) the patent transfer time is forecast using a Neural Temporal Point Process. By testing the model on patents under different classifications, the experimental results are obtained to show that the proposed model is applicable to predict the timing of patent assignment within a certain time frame, especially one month. Our work may facilitate patent transformation while interpretability is ensured for transformation events.

Audio-visual active speaker detection (AV-ASD) aims to identify which visible face is speaking in a scene with one or more persons. Most existing AV-ASD methods prioritize capturing speech-lip correspondence. However, there is a noticeable gap in addressing the challenges from real-world AV-ASD scenarios. Due to the presence of low-quality noisy videos in such cases, AV-ASD systems without a selective listening ability are short of effectively filtering out disruptive voice components from mixed audio inputs. In this paper, we propose a Multi-modal Speaker Extraction-to-Detection framework named ‘MuSED’, which is pre-trained with audio-visual target speaker extraction to learn the denoising ability, then it is fine-tuned with the AV-ASD task. Meanwhile, to better capture the multi-modal information and deal with real-world problems such as missing modality, MuSED is modelled on the time domain directly and integrates the multi-modal plus-and-minus augmentation strategy. Our experiments demonstrate that MuSED substantially outperforms the state-of-the-art AV-ASD methods and achieves 95.6% mAP on the AVA-ActiveSpeaker dataset, 98.3% AP on the ASW dataset, and 97.9% F1 on the Columbia AV-ASD dataset, respectively. Users worldwide widely use cloud storage because of its efficiency, convenience, and high availability. Multi-cloud storage is usually selected to ensure the high availability of data. Unfortunately, when data is migrated and replicated between multi-cloud data centers, it is not easy to guarantee data con-sistency. This paper proposes an efficient, secure, and new data consistency verification scheme using blockchain technology. In order to reduce the computation and communication overhead in the verification process, our scheme uses encrypted tags to build Merkle hash tree to generate unique and lightweight verification proofs and does not use third-party auditors. The final theoretical and experimental analysis shows that our scheme has higher security and a faster verification process in multi-cloud storage.
