Event Causality Identification (ECI) aims to identify fine-grained causal relationships between events in an unstructured text. Existing ECI methods primarily rely on knowledge-enhanced and graph-based reasoning approaches, but they often overlook the dependencies between similar events. Additionally, the connection between unstructured text and structured knowledge is relatively weak. Therefore, this paper proposes an ECI method enhanced by LLM Knowledge and Concept-Level Event Relations (LKCER). Specifically, LKCER constructs a conceptual-level heterogeneous event graph by leveraging the local contextual information of related event mentions, generating a more comprehensive global semantic representation of event concepts. At the same time, the knowledge generated by COMET is filtered and enriched using LLM, strengthening the associations between event pairs and knowledge. Finally, the joint event conceptual representation and knowledge-enhanced event representation are used to uncover potential causal relationships between events. The experimental results show that our method outperforms previous state-of-the-art methods on both benchmarks, EventStoryLine and Causal-TimeBank. © 2025 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Data-driven pre-trained language models typically perform shortcut learning wherein they rely on the spurious correlations between the data and the ground truth. This reliance can undermine the robustness and generalization of the model. To address this issue, data augmentation emerges as a promising solution. By integrating anti-shortcut data to the training set, the models' shortcut-induced biases can be mitigated. However, existing methods encounter three challenges: (1) Manual definition of shortcuts is tailored to particular datasets, restricting generalization. (2) The inherent confirmation bias during model training hampers the effectiveness of data augmentation. (3) Insufficient exploration of the relationship between the model performance and the augmented data quantity may result in excessive data consumption. To tackle these challenges, we propose a method of Smart Data Augmentation based on Large Language Models (SAug-LLM). It leverages the LLMs to autonomously identify shortcuts and generate their anti-shortcut counterparts. In addition, the dual validation is employed to mitigate the confirmation bias during the model retraining. Furthermore, the data augmentation process is optimized to effectively rectify model biases while minimizing data consumption. We validate the effectiveness and generalization of our method through extensive experiments across various natural language processing tasks, demonstrating an average performance improvement of 5.61%. © 2025 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Math word problem (MWP) represents a critical research area within reading comprehension, where accurate comprehension of math problem text is crucial for generating math expressions. However, current approaches still grapple with unresolved challenges in grasping the sensitivity of math problem text and delineating distinct roles across various clause types, and enhancing numerical representation. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a Numerical Magnitude Aware Multi-Channel Hierarchical Encoding Network (NMA-MHEA) for math expression generation. Firstly, NMA-MHEA implements a multi-channel hierarchical context encoding module to learn context representations at three different channels: intra-clause channel, inter-clause channel, and context-question interaction channel. NMA-MHEA constructs hierarchical constituent-dependency graphs for different levels of sentences and employs a Hierarchical Graph Attention Neural Network (HGAT) to learn syntactic and semantic information within these graphs at the intra-clause and inter-clause channels. NMA-MHEA then refines context clauses using question information at the context-question interaction channel. Secondly, NMA-MHEA designs a number encoding module to enhance the relative magnitude information among numerical values and type information of numerical values. Experimental results on two public benchmark datasets demonstrate that NMA-MHEA outperforms other state-of-the-art models. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Human motion prediction is of great importance for artificial intelligence systems, particularly in fields like autonomous driving and human-computer interaction. Existing methods have achieved good results in simple motions with small changes but still struggle with coherence in predicting complex motions with large changes in a short time. Regarding the issue in current methods, this paper proposes a novel network composed of three modules: spatial encoders that captures correlations between joints, temporal encoders that models the movement patterns of joints across frames, and a multi-frame temporal encoder that learns high-level temporal correlations to enhance prediction coherence. In addition, we propose to use Weighted Mean Per-Joint Position Error (WMPJPE) as the loss function by considering that different joints of the human skeleton have different effects on the entire action. We evaluate our method on the Human3.6M, AMASS, and 3DPW datasets. The quantitative results indicate that our method notably outperforms other methods in the prediction range of 160ms to 560ms. Knowledge graphs are used to alleviate the problems of data sparsity and cold starts in recommendation systems. However, most existing approaches ignore the hierarchical structure of the knowledge graph. In this paper, we propose a box embedding method for knowledge graph-enhanced recommendation system. Specifically, the box embedding represents not only the interaction between the user and the item, but also the head entity, the tail entity and the relation between them in the knowledge graph. Then the interaction between the item and the corresponding entity is calculated by the multi-task attention unit. Experimental results show that our method provides a large improvement over previous models in terms of Area Under Curve (AUC) and accuracy in publicly available recommendation datasets with three different domains. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Federated learning combines with fog computing to transform data sharing into model sharing, which solves the issues of data isolation and privacy disclosure in fog computing. However, existing studies focus on centralized single-layer aggregation federated learning architecture, which lack the consideration of cross-domain and asynchronous robustness of federated learning, and rarely integrate verification mechanisms from the perspective of incentives. To address the above challenges, we propose a Blockchain and Signcryption enabled Asynchronous Federated Learning (BSAFL) framework based on dual aggregation for cross-domain scenarios. In particular, we first design two types of signcryption schemes to secure the interaction and access control of collaborative learning between domains. Second, we construct a differential privacy approach that adaptively adjusts privacy budgets to ensure data privacy and local models' availability of intra-domain user. Furthermore, we propose an asynchronous aggregation solution that incorporates consensus verification and elastic participation using blockchain. Finally, security analysis demonstrates the security and privacy effectiveness of BSAFL, and the evaluation on real datasets further validates the high model accuracy and performance of BSAFL. © 2024 Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications

Photoacoustic imaging is a kind of rapidly advancing noninvasive detection technology based on the photon-induced-acoustic effect, which holds the significant potential applications in the biomedical imaging diagnosis field. This technique merges the high contrast capabilities of optical imaging with the deep penetration and high resolution of acoustic imaging. In our work, to study the interaction mechanisms and photoacoustic effects between pulsed laser and capillaries in skin tissue, finite element analysis (FEA) based on COMSOL multiphysis software was employed. Based on the established finite element bio-tissue model, the photoacoustic effect was fully and completely represented as a sequence of light absorption, thermal expansion, and ultrasound wave generation in the bio-tissue, involving the coupling of multiple physical fields and the numerical resolution of partial differential equations. Moreover, in our study, the effects of varying induced wavelengths, capillaries depths in tissue, and absorber sizes on the time-domain photoacoustic signals and photoacoustic intensity were numerical investigated. Numerical results show that the blood in capillaries has stronger photoacoustic effect in the visible light waveband due to the characteristic absorption of hemoglobin in capillaries. The photoacoustic intensity decreases with the increase of capillary radius and depth. To validate the availability of the numerical simulation, the corresponding photoacoustic experiments were performed. In the experiments, we constructed a photoacoustic microscopy detection system and experimentally studied the photoacoustic effects of several influence factors. The experimental results confirm the accuracy of our numerical simulations and provide theoretical insights for future applications of vascular or capillaries photoacoustic imaging in the biomedical field. © 2025 SPIE.

Unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) image matching methods have been extensively applied in various fields such as search and rescue, precision agriculture, etc. Due to the change of the UAV attitude and complexity of flight environment, there are scale morphological changes and multi-view differences between the UAV images and satellite images. This paper proposed a UAV image matching based on graph neural network. First, a method of feature extraction based on multi-type attention graph neural network is introduced to solve the view differences between two images. Then, a multiple kernel clustering based on consensus affinity graph is used to cluster the feature descriptors, which deals with the problem of scale morphological changes. Finally, an optimal transport matching method based on random sampling is proposed to improve the robustness to noise. The experiment results demonstrate that our method outperforms the available methods.
