We constructed a single C-B zier curve with a shape parameter for G2 joining two circular arcs. It was shown that an S-shaped transition curve, which is able to manage a broader scope about two circle radii than the B zier curves, has no curvature extrema, while a C-shaped transition curve has a single curvature extremum. Regarding the two kinds of curves, specific algo- rithms were presented in detail, strict mathematical proofs were given, and the effectiveness of the method was shown by examples. This method has the following three advantages: (1) the pattern is unified; (2) the parameter able to adjust the shape of the tran- sition curve is available; (3) the transition curve is only a single segment, and the algorithm can be formulated as a low order equation to be solved for its positive root. These advantages make the method simple and easy to implement.

In this paper, the source covariance matrices of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) interference channels (IFCs) are investigated from a game-theoretic perspective. It is proved that the requirement of sufficiently small interference-to- noise ratio (INR) is the sufficient condition for the uniqueness of the Nash bargaining (NB) solution. The structure of the source covariance matrices, which constitute the feasible set of NB solution, is analyzed by comparing them with the covariance matrices leading to the Nash equilibrium (NE). The existence of the NB solution and concavity of the rate product for MIMO IFCs are also studied.

We propose a binary Markov random field (MRF) model that assigns high probability to regions in the image domain consisting of an unknown number of circles of a given radius. We construct the model by discretizing the `gas of circles' phase field model in a principled way, thereby creating an `equivalent'MRF. The behaviour of the resulting MRF model is analyzed, and the performance of the new model is demonstrated on various synthetic images as well as on the problem of tree crown detection in aerial images.

This paper develops a generic geometry-based stochastic model for mobile-to-mobile (M2M) Ricean fading channels. From the generic model, the level crossing rate (LCR) and average fade duration (AFD) are derived. Based on the derived expressions, we for the first time investigate the LCR and AFD for M2M channels with different vehicular traffic densities (VTDs). Excellent agreement is achieved between the theoretical results and measured data, demonstrating the utility of the proposed model.

A method was proposed in order to process and classify CT slices representing funnel chest deformities. A manually chosen CT slice was processed to detect the inner curvature of the chest for characterization. Normalized data from the detected inner curvature was gained and saved next to a manually-given deformity type for further classifications. Based on the multiple correlations of the values gained from the inner curvature, a hierarchical classification was performed on 199 patient data. Results have shown that the calculated values gained from the inner curvature can accurately characterize the deformity type of the chest. Since minimal user interaction was necessary to detect and characterize the inner curvature, our method is considered to be an effective automated procedure for funnel chest deformity classifications.
