This paper is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in fault tolerance methods for cloud computing. Maintaining high availability and reliability of cloud environments requires fault tolerance. This paper explores fault tolerance in the context of cloud computing and discusses recent challenges and innovations in the field. Moreover, it examines the ongoing research efforts to improve fault-tolerance architectures. At the end of the paper, the paper presents system-level metrics that are relevant to fault tolerance.

Silicone rubber (SIR) has been widely used in the insulation of cable accessories due to its excellent performance. In this paper, pure SIR and nano Al2O3/SIR composites are thermally aged for 0-80 days at 200°C. The effects of long-term thermal aging on the space charge transport are analyzed. The results show that with the increase of thermal aging time, the accumulation of heteropolar charge of pure SIR and nano Al2O3/SIR composites gradually decreases and changes to the accumulation of homopolar charge. Compared with pure SIR, the space charge accumulation of Al2O3/SIR composites decreases significantly and changes little with the increase of thermal aging time. It is believed that when doped nano Al2O3 in SIR, the increase of carrier mobility and the introduction of metal oxides reacting with fallen free radicals to form stable compounds both lead to less space charge accumulation of Al2O3/SIR composites. © 2022 IEEE.

Plants sequester carbon through photosynthesis and provide primary productivity for the ecosystem. However, they also simultaneously consume water through transpiration, leading to a carbon-water balance relationship. Agricultural production can be regarded as a form of carbon sequestration *** the perspective of the natural-social-economic complex ecosystem, excessive water usage in food production will aggravate regional water pressure for both domestic and industrial purposes. Hence, achieving a harmonious equilibrium between carbon and water resources during the food production process is a key scientific challenge for ensuring food security and sustainability. Digital intelligence(DI) and cyber-physical-social systems(CPSS) are emerging as the new research paradigms that are causing a substantial shift in the conventional thinking and methodologies across various scientific fields, including ecological science and sustainability studies. This paper outlines our recent efforts in using advanced technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence(AI), digital twins, metaverses, and parallel intelligence to model, analyze, and manage the intricate dynamics and equilibrium among plants, carbon, and water in arid and semiarid ecosystems. It introduces the concept of the carbon-water balance and explores its management at three levels: the individual plant level, the community level, and the natural-social-economic complex ecosystem level. Additionally, we elucidate the significance of agricultural foundation models as fundamental technologies within this context. A case analysis of water usage shows that, given the limited availability of water resources in the context of the carbon-water balance, regional collaboration and optimized allocation have the potential to enhance the utilization efficiency of water resources in the river basin. This paper examines the Nash equilibrium seeking (NES) problem in non-cooperative games involving multiagent systems operating within time-varying networks. The system being studied encompasses unmeasured states and unknown nonlinear functions. To address this, an adaptive NES algorithm is developed using gradient play and a distributed backstepping approach. Additionally, a fuzzy logic system is employed to compensate external disturbance, and an adaptive distributed observer is proposed to share non-neighbor states and facilitate information sharing within the context of a time-varying network. The convergence of the proposed approach is rigorously proven by leveraging the principles of Lyapunov stability theory. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed through a comprehensive analysis of simulation results and physical experiments.

In this work, a ZIF-67/MWCNT/Nafion sensor platform was constructed based on the good adsorption capacity of ZIF-67, the electrical conductivity of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and the excellent chemical stability of Nafion for the detection of Cu2+ in water. Meanwhile, the modified materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR). Cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and square wave stripping voltammetry (SWSV) were used to characterize and test ZIF-67/MWCNT/Nafion/GCE. The results show that ZIF-67/MWCNT/Nafion/GCE has high sensitivity (57.5 μA/μM) and a low limit of detection (4.3 nM) for the electrochemical detection of Cu2+ ions in an electrochemical sensing system. Finally, the modified electrode has good repeatability, reproductivity, anti-interference and stability and can be applied to test domestic water. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Significant penetration of wind power into power systems gives rise to severe power quality concerns, especially voltage violations. In wind farms, the system model parameters are usually inaccurate or even unknown, which brings great difficulties to the implementation of conventional model-based control methods. Moreover, wind farms are usually partially observable since only a few measurements are available at critical nodes. To provide a practical Volt/Var control (VVC) strategy for such networks, a novel model-free VVC method based on zeroth-order feedback optimization is proposed in this paper, which doesn't rely on any system model parameters. Firstly, the proposed method continuously collects system output measurements and evaluates the objective function value at the current input and at the measured output, thus constructing gradient estimates. Then, the control inputs are updated via an accelerated gradient projection algorithm, where the step length is selected based on Barzilai-Borwein-like rules for constrained optimization to improve the speed of convergence. Numerical tests exhibit a promising performance of the proposed method in voltage control.

Global Navigation Satellite systems (GNSS) can provide real-time positioning information for outdoor users, but cannot for indoor scenarios or heavily occluded outdoor scenarios. Strap-down Inertial Navigation system (SINS) are widely used to locate people in complex interior or heavily occluded outdoor scenarios due to its light weight and low power consumption. However, IMU of SINS are noisy, and the sampling data error is large, which is a divergence of the error with time. Therefore, it will generate a positioning accumulation error, which affects the final positioning accuracy. The problem of cumulative IMU errors is usually dealt with by Zero-Velocity Update (ZUPT). The zero-velocity detection part of basic ZUPT method usually uses a single threshold to determine the gait of pedestrian, which often has the problem of gait misjudgment and omission. To address these problems, this paper proposes a composite conditional detection method to solve the problem of misjudgment in the zero-velocity interval. In addition, we redesign the zero-velocity update algorithm and uses the Cubature Kalman filter (CKF) for pedestrian positioning error correction. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed ZUPT method based on dual-threshold detection can better detect the interval between pedestrian motion and stationery than ones with single threshold. The zero-velocity update algorithm based on CKF has higher performance than conventional EKF and UKF methods, which constrains the cumulative error of SINS to about 0.2% of the whole walking distance.

In recent years, the error-state Kalman filter (ErKF) has been extensively employed across various applications, including but not limited to robotics, aerospace, and localization. However, incorporating constraints into the ErKF framework when state constraint is necessary has remained a challenging task due to its intrinsic properties. This paper explores all possible ways to achieve this goal in the context of the estimate projection method. In particular, the constraint can be enforced before or after the ErKF’s correction step. We approach the problem from a mathematical perspective by deriving analytical solutions and discussing their statistical properties. We prove that the two mentioned methods are statistically identical for a linear system with linear constraints. Conversely, the filter’s behavior remains uncertain in the presence of linearized constraints. However, we provide a special case of the nonlinear constraint, wherein the results of the linear case remain valid. To support our theorem and verify the filter’s performance when the assumptions are invalidated, we present two Monte Carlo simulations under the increasing initialization error and the constraint’s incompleteness. The simulation results clearly confirm our insights and lead to the conclusion that constraining the error-state after the correction may offer superior outcomes compared to its competitor. © 2023, CC BY.

Multi-Function Integrated RF system (MIRFS) is a crucial part of an aircraft's airborne systems. Unlike disposable equipment such as missiles and torpedoes, MIRFS has to face two different operating environments, ground and air, during a mission cycle. In these two operating environments, the test equipment and data processing methods are different. These differences bring problems with test information not being fully utilized and testability indexes not being accurately calculated. Traditional testability modelling and analysis method cannot deal with the above problems. In this paper, a phase-based testability modelling and analysis method using generalized stochastic Petri net (GSPN) is proposed to fully use test information and determinate accurate testability indexes. Firstly, depending on the operating environment, two phases which are readiness phase and flight combat phase are designed to build separate testability models. Secondly, since static modelling techniques like UML and SysML lack the ability to dynamically evaluate and analyse system, GSPN is used to model the testability of each phase to better describe the MIRFS state and behavior. Then the testability models for each phase are integrated and optimised into the mission cycle GSPN testability model, which contains fully test information. The integration principle involves linking testability models according to the mission cycle sequence, including time synchronization, fault detection synchronization, and maintenance synchronization. Finally, Markov chain is used to solve the mission cycle GSPN model and obtain the precise testability indexes. The testability indexes obtained effectively enhances the testability of the MIRFS. Half-wave commutated modular multilevel converter (HWC-MMC) is suitable for high-voltage large-capacity AC-AC conversion, and an appropriate capacitor voltage balancing strategy is essential. This paper analyzes the condition of capacitor voltage balancing and proposes a capacitor voltage balancing strategy based on optimal zero-sequence voltage injection using the model predictive control. Finally, the simulation is carried out to verify the proposed strategy.
