Analysis of non-Markovian passive quantum linear systems’ response to single-photon input fields*

In this paper, we analyze the response of passive quantum linear systems in a non-Markovian environment to single photon input fields. Based on an augmented modelling method for non-Markovian quantum systems, analytic forms of output intensity and output covariance function in steady-state are derived. These results allow us to quantitatively analyze the influence of non-Markovian environment on system response under a framework of linear system theory.

Abstract: The influence of the type of active gas and the ratio of the concentration of the components of the CF4 + Ar, Cl2 + Ar, and HBr + Ar mixtures on the parameters of the plasma, steady-state concentrations of the active particles, and kinetics of reactive-ion etching of SiO2 is investigated. It is demonstrated that the rate of etching SiO2 decreases in the CF4–Cl2–HBr series and is characterized by nonmonotonic (with the maximum at 20–25% Ar) behaviour under the variation of the initial composition of the mixtures. It is found that the reasons for the nonmonotonicity for each of the mixtures are the increased effective probability of the interaction and decreased yield of etching due to the change in the physical parameters of the plasma and densities of the fluxes of the active particles. © 2020, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Submodularity-based False Data Injection Attack Scheme in Multi-agent Dynamical systems

Consensus in multi-agent dynamical systems is prone to be sabotaged by the adversary, which has attracted much attention due to its key role in broad applications. In this paper, we study a new false data injection (FDI) attack design problem, where the adversary with limited capability aims to select a subset of agents and manipulate their local multi-dimensional states to maximize the consensus convergence error. We first formulate the FDI attack design problem as a combinatorial optimization problem and prove it is NP-hard. Then, based on the submodularity optimization theory, we show the convergence error is a submodular function of the set of the compromised agents, which satisfies the property of diminishing marginal returns. In other words, the benefit of adding an extra agent to the compromised set decreases as that set becomes larger. With this property, we exploit the greedy scheme to find the optimal compromised agent set that can produce the maximum convergence error when adding one extra agent to that set each time. Thus, the FDI attack set selection algorithms are developed to obtain the near-optimal subset of the compromised agents. Furthermore, we derive the analytical suboptimality bounds and the worst-case running time under the proposed algorithms. In the field of battery circuit model parameter estimation, the combination of bilinear transformation with the least squares method has garnered widespread attention due to its excellent performance under continuous current conditions. However, in dynamic reconfigurable battery network (DRBN), the network's topological structure is constantly changing, and the battery current consists of non-periodic pulse signal sequences, making it challenging for traditional methods to accurately estimate the battery model parameters within such networks. To address this issue, this paper proposes a lithium-ion battery circuit model parameter estimation method that takes into account network topology reconfiguration. This method, based on the operational modes and sampling methods of DRBN, derives a new discrete transformation formula for the transfer function and constructs a least squares model parameter identification model using this formula. By establishing an experimental platform for DRBN, the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated in this paper.

When partial discharge occurs in the transformer, it will produce higher frequency pulse current, high frequency phenomenon will enhance the circuit capacitance effect, making the circuit bandwidth, in order to detect the local discharge signal so as to realize the transformer for equipment monitoring, the establishment of the transformer broadband equivalent circuit model, the propagation law of partial discharge pulse current signal in the transformer is investigated, and the effects of four denoising methods are compared under different evaluation indexes; finally, a typical transformer partial discharge condition is studied, and the validity of the transformer partial discharge research based on the wide-band equivalent circuit is verified.

To enhance the efficiency and stability of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems, and to address the issue of misjudgment in the traditional perturbation and observation method (P&O), an adaptive MPPT control approach based on light intensity prediction is proposed. Firstly, the correlation between the input and output of the system is analyzed to determine the necessary input terms. Secondly, the multi-time series LSTM algorithm is utilized to select pertinent historical PV sequence information according to the correlation analysis results, enabling short-term prediction of PV output. Finally, the Boost circuit is employed as the control object, with the light intensity prediction result serving as the input to adaptively adjust the step size of the P&O. Through the MATLAB/Simulink simulation platform, the results demonstrate that the adaptive variable step size photovoltaic MPPT algorithm based on light intensity prediction can effectively mitigate power oscillation in steady state while exhibiting good tracking speed and accuracy.

Composite insulators, as an important part of outdoor transmission lines, always suffer from various environmental stress, and the large-scale icing accretion problem is one of the dangerous threats. In this paper, superhydrophobic silicone rubber was prepared by surface coating method, and its anti-icing performance compared with pristine silicone rubber was investigated. The superhydrophobic surface can repel water droplets so that the droplets can be removed easily before freezing. For the sessile droplets, the freezing speed on the pristine silicone rubber is faster than the process on coated silicone rubber. After completing freezing, the deicing force on pristine silicone rubber is bigger than that on coated silicone rubber. In summary, the superhydrophobic silicone rubber showed more excellent performance in inhibiting ice accretion than the pristine silicone rubber, and it is a potential solution to the icing problem in the power system. © 2022 IEEE.

Multi-camera vehicle tracking (MCVT) system is a key technology to build an intelligent city and intelligent transportation system. The MCVT system utilizes roadside monitoring devices and computing platforms to achieve city-level road traffic perception at a finer scale by tracking each vehicle on the road to obtain the trajectory. The existing MCVT system mainly focuses on dealing with the algorithm modules separately, without studying the real-time performance and system architecture of the entire pipeline. However, in real-world applications, many of the tricks in improving evaluation metrics are not applicable since there is endless traffic flow running all the time. Therefore, this paper proposes a real-time framework of the MCVT system to streamline all the algorithm modules with proper data flow. Firstly, a multi-threaded multi-vehicle tracking (MVT) module is developed to detect vehicles in each camera. Re-identification is implemented during MVT to provide the feature for tracking in the same camera and across different cameras. Then, after the vehicle leaves the camera field of view, the feature of vehicle trajectory is calculated by averaging the feature at each frame. Meanwhile, a background thread runs continuously to match the incoming feature of vehicle trajectory with past features by conducting a topology searching method. In the end, the vehicle trajectories with well-matched features are considered to be the same vehicle. The entire pipeline has been validated on two different datasets, the precision is 0.64 in the CityFlow dataset which uses 6 cameras simultaneously. In the customized dataset, the same method can still reach real-time when using 16 cameras at the same time with smaller network modules.

We model a platooning system including trucks and a third-party service provider that performs platoon coordination, distributes the platooning profit within platoons, and charges the trucks in exchange for its services. This paper studies one class of pricing rules, where the third-party service provider keeps part of the platooning profit each time a platoon is formed. Furthermore, we propose a platoon coordination solution based on distributed model predictive control in which the pricing rule is integrated. To evaluate the effect of the pricing on the platooning system, we perform a simulation over the Swedish road network. The simulation shows that the platooning rate and profit highly depend on the pricing. This suggests that pricing needs to be set carefully to obtain a satisfactory platooning system in the future.
