An efficient 3D point cloud learning architecture, named EfficientLO-Net, for LiDAR odometry is first proposed in this paper. In this architecture, the projection-aware representation of the 3D point cloud is proposed to organize the raw 3D point cloud into an ordered data form to achieve efficiency. The Pyramid, Warping, and Cost volume (PWC) structure for the LiDAR odometry task is built to estimate and refine the pose in a coarse-to-fine approach. A projection-aware attentive cost volume is built to directly associate two discrete point clouds and obtain embedding motion patterns. Then, a trainable embedding mask is proposed to weigh the local motion patterns to regress the overall pose and filter outlier points. The trainable pose warp-refinement module is iteratively used with embedding mask optimized hierarchically to make the pose estimation more robust for outliers. The entire architecture is holistically optimized end-to-end to achieve adaptive learning of cost volume and mask, and all operations involving point cloud sampling and grouping are accelerated by projection-aware 3D feature learning methods. The superior performance and effectiveness of our LiDAR odometry architecture are demonstrated on KITTI, M2DGR, and Argoverse datasets. Our method outperforms all recent learning-based methods and even the geometry-based approach, LOAM with mapping optimization, on most sequences of KITTI odometry dataset. In order to improve the prediction accuracy of the carbon brush temperature trend of the generator, analyzing the operating state of the generator more accurately, and reduce other accidents like the unplanned outage caused by carbon brush failure of the generator in the power plant. A multi-step temperature prediction model based on the LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) neural network is proposed. The data comes from real operating carbon brush temperature of Weihai Power Plant in ten days. Then the temperature prediction model is established to achieve an accurate prediction of the carbon brush temperature in the future day. The prediction error is stable within 0.4 °C. By comparing the predicted results of the BP model and Elman model, the error between the predicted results of each model and the actual temperature data is analyzed. By comparing the indicators and analyzing the actual curves, the results show that LSTM neural network has higher accuracy in predicting the temperature of generator carbon brush. This method is of reference significance for the accurate analysis of the operation state of the generator and the load analysis of the excitation system.

To settle the problem that identifying inrush current and fault current of large transformer is difficult,a new identification method which is a combination of variational mode decomposition(VMD)and Hilbert-Huang transform(HHT)is come up ***,the inrush current and fault current signals are decomposed into multi-band intrinsic mode function(IMF)by using ***,the instantaneous frequencies of each intrinsic mode function(IMF)of inrush current and fault current are calculated respectively by Hilbert-Huang transform,so that the corresponding Hilbert spectrum is ***,the Hilbert spectra of inrush current and fault current are filtered by band-pass filter to remove the similar main lobes and some *** is concluded that the Hilbert spectra of inrush current and fault current are significantly different from each *** order to facilitate engineering application,the energy values of the first 16 sites in the Hilbert spectra of the two are taken to identify the inrush current and fault current,and the protection criteria are obtained.

Aiming at the problem that the fault characteristics of single-phase-to-ground fault in small current grounding system are not obvious,the fault situation is complex,and the single fault criterion is difficult to accurately select the *** this paper,a new method for small current single-phase ground fault line selection is proposed based on improved Empirical Wavelet Transform(EWT)and D-S evidence *** method firstly smoothes the transient zero-sequence current spectrum of each feeder,and then performs EWT decomposition to extract the natural modal function that best characterizes the original signal,and obtains the energy peak and the intrinsic modal energy value to determine the probability of each line fault,***,the results of the two methods are fused by D-S evidence theory,and the final line selection results are obtained.

This paper considers the problem of globally stabilizing a chain of integrators with actuator saturation in finite time. The proposed method is adapted from an existing scheduled low gain approach by relaxing the range of the value of the low gain parameter. Due to the special structure of the considered system, the proposed feedback law not only results in finite-time stability but also is homogeneous in the whole state space. The homogeneity of the proposed feedback law allows its implementation through the discretization of a compact set of the state space and thus obviation from numerical difficulties in the existing scheduled low gain design. A numerical example is presented to validate our theoretical results and demonstrate that our approach achieves faster convergence than the existing methods.

Chaos is shown to occur in the flexible shaft rotating-lifting (FSRL) system of the mono-silicon crystal puller. Chaos is, however, harmful for the quality of mono-silicon crystal production. Therefore, it should be suppressed. Many chaos control methods have been proposed theoretically and some have even been used in applications. For a practical plant displaying harmful chaos, engineers from a specified area usually face with the challenge to identifying chaos and to suppressing it by using a proper method. However, despite of the existing methods, chaos control method selection in the FSRL system is not a trivial task. For example, for the OGY method, if one cannot find a practical adjustable parameter, then the OGY method cannot be applied. An impulsive control method is being proposed which is efficiently able to suppress chaos in the FSRL system. The selection of the control parameters is obtained by using the Melnikov method. Simulation results show the correctness of our theoretical analysis and the effectiveness of the proposed chaos control method. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper studies the linear-quadratic-Gaussian (LQG) problem for sampled-data systems with a stochastic sampling interval obeying a certain probability distribution. An optimal estimator of the system state is presented by the standard Kalman filter , and the Vandermonde matrix and Kronecker product operation are used to calculate the mathematical expectation caused by stochastic sampling in the process of designing the LQG controller. Moreover, it was proved that the controller can ensure the system is exponentially mean square stable. Finally, some simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed controller design method.

Private and Robust Distributed Nonconvex Optimization via Polynomial Approximation

There has been work that exploits polynomial approximation to solve distributed nonconvex optimization problems involving univariate objectives. This idea facilitates arbitrarily precise global optimization without requiring local evaluations of gradients at every iteration. Nonetheless, there remains a gap between existing guarantees and practical requirements, e.g., privacy preservation and robustness to network imperfections. To fill this gap and keep the above strengths, we propose a Private and Robust Chebyshev-Proxy-based distributed Optimization Algorithm (PR-CPOA). Specifically, to ensure both the accuracy of solutions and the privacy of local objectives, we design a new privacy-preserving mechanism. This mechanism leverages the randomness in blockwise insertions of perturbed vector states and hence provides a stronger privacy guarantee in the scope of (α, β)-data-privacy. Furthermore, to gain robustness against network imperfections, we use the push-sum consensus protocol as a backbone and discuss its specific enhancements. Thanks to the purely consensus-type iterations, we avoid the privacy-accuracy trade-off and the bother of selecting proper step sizes in different settings. We rigorously analyze the accuracy, privacy, and complexity of the proposed algorithm. We show that the advantages brought by introducing polynomial approximation are maintained when all the above requirements exist. © 2021, CC BY-NC-SA.

In this paper, we propose a novel regularization algorithm that is introduced as a penalty term to the loss function. Differing from conventional L1 and L2 regularization methods, our approach does not aim to diminish the weights of individual neurons or enforce sparsity by driving certain neurons to zero. Instead, it functions by increasing the differences between neurons and enhancing the diversity of neurons within each layer. Our method incorporates ensemble learning techniques by treating the layer weight matrix as a collective learning model, where each neuron serving as a weak learner within the layer. The proposed algorithm improves the performance of DCNN by simultaneously considering the distance between multiple filters in the same layer. This algorithm reduces the redundancy of the parameter layer filters in DCNN and enhances its robustness. The penalty term proposed by our algorithm dynamically adjusts its value in a cyclical manner, compelling the neural network to navigate away from its current gradient state. In the parameter space, different weights correspond to different locations. The proposed algorithm quantifies the distance between neurons and iteratively increases the distance between neurons during thereby encouraging greater diversity within the network. Experimental evaluations demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm in enhancing neural network performance without requiring adjustments to other hyper-parameters.

Decentralized coordination between economic dispatch and demand response in multi-energy systems

In this paper, we investigate the problem of coordination between economic dispatch (ED) and demand response (DR) in multi-energy systems (MESs), aiming to improve the economic utility and reduce the waste of energy in MESs. Since multiple energy sources are coupled through energy hubs (EHs), the supply-demand constraints are nonconvex. To deal with this issue, we propose a linearization method to transform the coordination problem to a convex social welfare optimization one. Then a decentralized algorithm based on parallel Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM) and dynamic average tracking protocol is developed, where each agent could only make decisions based on information from their neighbors. Moreover, by using variational inequality and Lyapunov-based techniques, we show that our algorithm could always converge to the global optimal solution. Finally, a case study on the modified IEEE 14-bus network verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of our algorithm. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.
