The paper introduces a Koopman bilinear model predictive control (KBMPC) as a local planner for smart wheelchair systems. This approach leverages the Koopman Operator to streamline the nonlinear terms in MPC, aiming to achieve superior real-time performance. In particular, we employ the Extended Dynamic Mode Decomposition (EDMD) method to approximate the infinite dimensional Koopman operator. To tackle the challenge of designing lifting functions, we systematically utilize the derivatives of known nonlinear structures to methodically derive lifting functions. This systematic approach facilitates the identification of a precise bilinear model. Next, we formulate the corresponding Koopman bilinear MPC problem. Finally, an iterative algorithm is employed to efficiently solve the KBMPC problem. This method linearizes the bilinear model around estimations and iteratively solves the resulting quadratic programming problem to refine estimations. This allows KBMPC to function as a real-time local planner for smart wheelchairs. The prediction of nonlinear terms shows that the identified Koopman bilinear model increases the prediction accuracy. Furthermore, experiments demonstrate the advantages of the designed KBMPC local planner, highlighting its superior real-time performance and predictive capabilities.

Nonlinear dynamics bring difficulties to controller design for control-affine systems such as tractor-trailer vehicles, especially when the parameters in the dynamics are unknown. To address this constraint, we propose a derivative-based lifting function construction method, show that the corresponding infinite dimensional Koopman bilinear model over the lifting function is equivalent to the original control-affine system. Further, we analyze the propagation and bounds of state prediction errors caused by the truncation in derivative order. The identified finite dimensional Koopman bilinear model would serve as predictive model in the next step. Koopman Bilinear Model Predictive control (K-BMPC) is proposed to solve the trajectory tracking problem. We linearize the bilinear model around the estimation of the lifted state and control input. Then the bilinear Model Predictive control problem is approximated by a quadratic programming problem. Further, the estimation is updated at each iteration until the convergence is reached. Moreover, we implement our algorithm on a tractor-trailer system, taking into account the longitudinal and side slip effects. The open-loop simulation shows the proposed Koopman bilinear model captures the dynamics with unknown parameters and has good prediction performance. Closed-loop tracking results show the proposed K-BMPC exhibits elevated tracking precision with the commendable computational efficiency. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of K-BMPC.

State-of-charge (SoC) balancing is crucial for improving the efficiency and lifetime of the battery energy storage system in near-space vehicles. In this paper, the SoC balancing control problem is investigated by a coupling battery model with electric-thermal-aging dynamics. Firstly, a system identification experiment is carried out to obtain the internal parameters of the battery. Secondly, a weight optimization index is designed by integrating the balancing speed and battery state-of-health (SoH). Then, a receding horizon control algorithm is proposed to realize multi-unit battery SoC balancing with partial swarm optimization (PSO). Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified by simulation results.

Andrew's Sine Estimator (ASE) has recently been used to invent adaptive filtering, which can combat more kind of noises than conventional estimators. Inspired by the LMS and its sparse forms, normalization and proportionate ASE algorithms with Lawson constraints are constructed with the respective given names of Lawson normalization ASE (LNASE) and Lawson proportionate NASE (LPNASE). Simulations are performed to analyze the performance of these algorithms under impulsive noise. © 2022 IEEE.

Research and application of Gaussian coupled control bistable stochastic resonance system with independent parameter regulation

The theory of Stochastic Resonance (SR) has drawn significant attention due to its exceptional ability to detect faint signals. Despite this, research to date indicates that for SR systems, whether they are monostable, bistable, or multi-stable, modifications to the system parameters lead to concurrent alterations in the depth and breadth of the potential wells when analyzing engineering signals, which results in suboptimal detection outcomes. To address these issues, a two-dimensional Gaussian bistable coupled SR (GBCSR) system has been proposed that can individually adjust the potential well characteristics. This innovative system facilitates the separate adjustment of shape characteristics of potential, allowing for more precise manipulation of the system's dynamic response. The system's non-linear dynamic traits are explicated through an analysis of the steady-state probability density (SPD) function and the mean first passage time (MFPT), substantiating the effectiveness of the new model. In practical scenarios, a variety of bearing defect signals serve as the objects of detection. The structural parameters of the GBCSR system are co-optimized using the Brain Storm Optimization (BSO) algorithm. This optimization approach leverages the algorithm's ability to enhance population diversity and improve convergence accuracy, thereby optimizing the system's performance. The experimental outcome results show that the proposed system can accurately detect the frequency of bearing fault signals. When compared with traditional SR systems such as the traditional bistable stochastic SR (TBSR), the traditional Gaussian SR system (TGSR), and the cascade stochastic resonance system, the proposed coupled system demonstrates superior performance. This is achieved through the transfer of energy or information between subsystems, which enables more efficient utilization of noise energy. In recent years, the design of anomaly detectors has attracted a tremendous surge of interest due to security issues in industrial control systems (ICS). Restricted by hardware resources, most anomaly detectors can only be deployed at the remote monitoring ends, far away from the control sites, which brings potential threats to anomaly detection. In this paper, we propose an active real-time anomaly detection framework deployed in the controller of OpenPLC, which is a standardized open-source PLC and has high scalability. Specifically, we add adaptive active noises to control signals, and then identify a linear dynamic system model of the plant offline and implement it in the controller. Finally, we design two filters to process the estimated residuals based on the obtained model and use χ2 detector for anomaly detection. Extensive experiments are conducted on an industrial control virtual platform to show the effectiveness of the proposed detection framework. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper proposes a novel online-learning-enabled hierarchical distributionally robust energy management framework for multi-microgrids (MMGs) with off-site hydrogen refueling stations (HRSs). The proposed framework integrates day-ahead scheduling, intra-day rescheduling and real-time control. The day-ahead scheduling is implemented via a central energy management system for optimal joint scheduling of the MMG systems and off-site HRSs, then the intra-day rescheduling is carried out to optimize the real-time operation and to generate the reference for local controllers. To adequately characterize the statistical properties of renewable and load uncertainties from data streams, we leverage a Dirichlet process mixture model to construct an online-update ambiguity set, which encodes multimodality and local moment information. Based upon this ambiguity set, an online-learning distributionally robust model predictive control (OL-DRMPC) is developed to enhance the tracking performance of energy storage references and to reduce conservatism while guaranteeing probabilistic operational constraints. Its effectiveness is verified in a case study. © 2022 IEEE.

In light of the challenges posed by the variability of industrial part shapes, weak texture information, and surface reflections in current industrial vision inspection, traditional methods such as feature descriptors and template matching are inadequate. This paper innovatively proposes a machine learning object detection method, establishes robust stable features for weakly textured industrial parts, and evaluates the performance of the model and feature selection in combination with actual fuel tank cap detection tasks. Firstly, we construct a dataset of fuel tank cap targets and establish a comprehensive and relatively stable feature dataset, including geometric features, texture features, and color features. Secondly, through ablation experiments and comparative experiments, we conduct intelligent per-formance testing on model detection accuracy, parameter selection, and feature contribution. Finally, the evaluation results demon-strate that the support vector machine (SVM) model exhibits the best detection performance after feature selection, with a detection accuracy of 99.0% under the optimal parameter settings validated through experiments.

Existing coupled distributed estimation and motion control strategies of mobile sensor networks present limitations in velocity-varying target tracking. Therefore, a velocity-varying target tracking algorithm based on flocking control is proposed herein. The Kalman-consensus filter is utilized to estimate the position, velocity and acceleration of a target. The flocking control algorithm with a velocity-varying virtual leader enables the position of the center of the mobile sensor network to converge to that of the target. By applying an effective cascading Lyapunov method, stability analysis is performed. Simulation results are provided to validate the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.
