LOCAL PECULIARITY ORIENTED DATA MINING AND ITS APPLICATION IN OUTLIER DETECTION

Peculiarity oriented mining (POM), aimed at discovering peculiarity rules hidden in a dataset, is a data mining method. Peculiarity factor (PF) is one of the most important concepts in POM. In this paper, it is proved that PF can accurately characterize the peculiarity of data sampled from a normal distribution. However, for a general one-dimensional distribution, it does not have the property. A local version of PF, called LPF, is proposed to solve the difficulty. LPF can effectively describe the peculiarity of data sampled from a continuous one-dimensional distribution. Based on LPF, a framework of local peculiarity oriented mining is presented, which consists of two steps, namely, peculiar data identification and peculiar data analysis. Two algorithms for peculiar data identification and a case study of peculiar data analysis are given to make the framework practical. Experiments on several benchmark datasets show their good performance.

Agent-based evacuation modeling approach is gained more and more attention for investigating human cognitive capabilities and social behaviors in building fires. This paper mainly overviews the research about various agent-based evacuation models. For the decision-making reflects the intelligence of agent individual, we define three types of behavior decision-making models for agent individual based on the collected literatures and sum up the characteristics of each type. Aiming at crowd' important influence on evacuation processes, we also sum up two types of agent-based crowd modeling approaches to simulate crowd evacuation processes and give corresponding cases. Finally, after summing up the existing problems, the outlooks of the research from computational experiments point of view is proposed.

This paper presents a novel parallel system for Rail Transit based on ACP approach (Artificial systems, Computational experiments, Parallel execution), which is proposed to address issues on safety, efficiency and reliability of their operation and optimization. Firstly, the construction of dynamic, overall and real Artificial Rail Transit systems and their demonstration are provided. Then, based on these systems, the platform, content and analysis of computational experiments and comprehensive evaluation system are researched. Finally, parallel control and management of the actual systems via parallel execution can be achieved. By Parallel Rail Transit systems, a set of recommendations and strategies of railway can be formed, which would improve the overall functionality of the trail transit system.

Network Zoning is a key problem for the coordination in hierarchical control system. In traffic control area, considering the characteristics of road network, like directed and spatial property, we give one appropriate method for network zoning. Inheriting the advantages of several community detection methods, this method takes the distance between intersections and the scale of intersection into account simultaneously. And we also applied it to the parallel transportation management systems (PtMS) in Tianhe area of Guangzhou for network zoning. The results of experiments illustrate its effectiveness.

At present service oriented resource configuration analysis and optimization research only takes computing resources into account. It fails to meet the requirement that enterprise run optimally in cloud manufacturing and SOE. This paper analyzes the relation between enterprise services and computing/manufacturing resources. Then the artificial enterprise model is built. Then various resource configuration schemes are loaded in it and the computational experiments are done to run these schemes. By comparing the experiment results the optimal scheme is obtained for the enterprise. Thus the demand of the enterprise is satisfied.

Learning is an important capability for an individual robot, which provides an effective way for understanding, planning, and decision-making in a complex environment. For robot motion control, a local weighted k-nearest neighbors states selection method based on environment information and task information is presented. Based on this method, TD reinforcement learning algorithm is combined to reduce the misclassified probability of kNN-TD method, which is finally verified by the simulations.

As computing technologies develop, there is a trend in traffic simulation research in which the focus is moving from macro- and meso-simulation to micro-simulation since microsimulation can provide more detailed quantitative results. Moreover, the success of the Artificial societies-Computational experiments-Parallel execution (ACP) approach indicates that integrating other metropolitan systems such as logistic, infrastructure, legal and regulatory, and weather and environmental systems to build an Artificial Transportation system (ATS) can be helpful in solving Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS) problems. However, the computational burden is very heavy as there are many agents interacting in parallel in the ATS. Therefore, a parallel computing tool is desirable. We think that we can employ a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), which has been applied in many areas. In this paper, we use a GPU-adapted Parallel Genetic Algorithm (PGA) to solve the problem of generating daily activity plans for individual and household agents in the ATS, which is important as the activity plans determine the traffic demand in the ATS. Previous research has shown that GA is effective but that the computational burden is heavy. We extend the work to GPU and test our method on an NVIDIA Tesla C2050 GPU for two scenarios of generating plans for 1000 individual agents and 1000 three-person household agents. Speedup factors of 23 and 32 are obtained compared with implementations on a mainstream CPU.

Important users are high-status vertices in social networks. They are everywhere in most fields of society and have big impact on those around them. Although a lot of effort has been made on identifying important users, the efficient methods still need to be developed, especially for the web users from Sina microblog, which is the most popular social networking sites in China and has unique characteristics. In this paper, a machine learning-based method which only uses several attributes on Naive Bayes Classifiers (NBC) and Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) was proposed to identify important users. Initial experiments indicate that our method is effective. The result of "high" category has more than 55% accuracy rate. We find the NBC can identify more important users while BPNN has higher accuracy rate. What's more, the numbers of follower and followings in Sina microblog is independent.

Since the 1960s, the stem cells have been extensively studied including embryonic stem cells, neural stem cells, bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells, and mesenchymal stem cells. In the recent years, several stem cells have been initially used in the treatment of diseases, such as in bone marrow transplant. At the same time, isolation and culture experimental technologies for stem cell research have been widely developed in recent years. In addition, molecular imaging technologies including optical molecular imaging, positron emission tomography, single-photon emission computed tomography, and computed tomography have been developed rapidly in recent the 10 years and have also been used in the research on disease mechanism and evaluation of treatment of disease related with stem cells. This paper will focus on recent typical isolation, culture, and observation techniques of stem cells followed by a concise introduction. Finally, the current challenges and the future applications of the new technologies in stem cells are given according to the understanding of the authors, and the paper is then concluded.

Theorems and Application of Local Activity of CNN with Five state Variables and One Port

Coupled nonlinear dynamical systems have been widely studied recently. However, the dynamical properties of these systems are difficult to deal with. The local activity of cellular neural network (CNN) has provided a powerful tool for studying the emergence of complex patterns in a homogeneous lattice, which is composed of coupled cells. In this paper, the analytical criteria for the local activity in reaction-diffusion CNN with five state variables and one port are presented, which consists of four theorems, including a serial of inequalities involving CNN parameters. These theorems can be used for calculating the bifurcation diagram to determine or analyze the emergence of complex dynamic patterns, such as chaos. As a case study, a reaction-diffusion CNN of hepatitis B Virus (HBV) mutation-selection model is analyzed and simulated, the bifurcation diagram is calculated. Using the diagram, numerical simulations of this CNN model provide reasonable explanations of complex mutant phenomena during therapy. Therefore, it is demonstrated that the local activity of CNN provides a practical tool for the complex dynamics study of some coupled nonlinear systems.
