Most image classification methods are designed to either boost the classification accuracies with abundant supervision, or cope with the shortage of supervision information. This is often achieved by using the visual and semantic information of other sources. However, these methods use the visual and semantic information within the same class independently, leaving their intrinsic correlations unconsidered. Objects and disturbing components as well as noise exist on the same image. Besides, semantic representations also contain noisy information. To solve the problems mentioned above, we propose a novel method for both fully supervised image classification and few-shot image classification by decomposing visual and semantic correlations. We jointly explore the intrinsic correlations of visual and semantic information of images within the same class. For each class, we decompose its visual and semantic correlations using low-rank and sparse constraint respectively. The decomposed low-rank parts character the intrinsic correlations of images can be used in a linear transformation way. Using the decomposed parts of each class, Classification can be achieved by reconstruction error minimization. We conduct experiments on several datasets for both fully supervised image classification and few-shot image classification. Experimental results well show the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2020 IEEE.

In the future, management in smart societies will revolve around knowledge workers and the works they produce. This article is committed to explore new management framework, model, paradigm, and solution for organizing, managing, and measuring knowledge works. First, the parallel management framework is presented that would allow for the virtual-real interactions of humans in social space, robots in physical space, and digital humans in cyberspace to realize descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive intelligence for management. Then, the management foundation models are proposed by fusing scenarios engineering with artificial intelligence foundation models and cyber-physical-social systems. Moreover, the new management paradigm driven by decentralized autonomous organizations and operations is formulated for the advancement of smart organizations and intelligent operations. On these basis, the management operating systems that highlight features of simple intelligence, provable security, flexible scalability, and ecological harmony are finally put forward as new management solution.

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere and deep thanks to our Editor-in-Chief, Professor Meng Chu Zhou, who took over my position after I was drafted for rejuvenating IEEE Transactions on Computational Social systems in 2017. During the past five years, Meng Chu’s professional leadership and dedication has transformed IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica(JAS) from its infancy to a young and high-impact publication in the world that is full of vitality and actively engaged by a group of talented and charged associate Ei Cs and editors, which is clearly demonstrated in Meng Chu’s farewell editorial [1]. I am very glad that Professor Qing-Long Han, an influential and leading scientist of the world-class in AI, control, automation, and intelligent science and technology from Australia, as well as a staunch supporter and great leader of this journal from its beginning, will take over the Ei C torch from Meng Chu next year, since I am extremely confident that our journal will reach a new high for its service and quality under his new leadership.

Traditional cognitive travel modeling typically employs a unified cognitive model to simulate representative travel behaviors, which may usually result in a weak characterization of user heterogeneity in paths, modes, and other factors. Large language model (LLM), by contrast, has significantly enhanced the anthropomorphic and personalized features of intelligent systems. To integrate their advantages, this article proposes LLM-driven cognitive modeling to generate more diverse and personalized travel demands. The new method sufficiently exploits LLM such as the llama as a basis and provides personalized travel plans so that more heterogenous travel demands could be generated. Additionally, introducing LLM into cognitive modeling can significantly reduce the time of model development, thus accelerating the research or engineering deployment. By calibrating and testing with one month's data from public transportation (buses and subways) in Beijing, our method, compared to traditional cognitive models, not only achieves better accuracy in reproducing typical travel patterns, but also generates more diverse ones, providing a more comprehensive input for computational experiments on traffic management and control strategies.

With the collaboration of several intelligent services, a crowd intelligence service network has been formed, and a service ecosystem has gradually emerged. As a novel service organization model, the Service Ecosystem (SE) can provide more sophisticated, precise, and thorough services and has attracted widespread attention. However, it also brings negative effects such as involution, and information cocoon room. Thus, how to analyze the collaborative decision-making mechanism between the SE regulation algorithm and the crowd intelligence group, exploring the reasons behind the negative effects, and finding effective intervention strategies have become problems in this field. To solve the challenges, we propose a Computational Experiments-based method Decision-making processes Analysis model in SE, namely CEDA. The proposed CEDA model consists of three modules: the autonomous evolution mechanism module, the learning evolution mechanism module, and the collaborative decision-making analysis module. Among them, the computational experiments can provide a customized test environment for the analysis of collaborative decision-making processes and find out the appropriate intervention strategy. Finally, the validity of the CEDA model is verified through the case of academic ecosystem involution. Semantic Coherence Guided Multiview Similarity for Image Classification with Varied Supervision

Pairwise similarity has been widely used for image classification by propagating the class information from labeled images to unlabeled images and predicting the classes of unlabeled images accordingly. Although widely used, pairwise similarity based classification methods have two drawbacks. On one hand, visual-semantic similarity consistency does not always hold due to semantic gap. On the other hand, the reliability of pairwise similarity is also influenced by the number and underlying distribution of labeled images. A well-designed classification model cannot be easily generalized to few-shot classification tasks. To solve these two problems, in this article, we propose a semantic coherence guided multiview similarity (SCG-MV) for image classification method with varied supervision levels. We measure the semantic coherence between image pairs for classifier learning. This is achieved by first conducting line search along the line segment between each image pair, and then measure the semantics of each interval. The similarity of one image pair can then be obtained by aggregating the semantic coherence of all the intervals. In this way, we can model image similarities more finely and discriminatively. To make use of multiview information, we also use the semantic coherence guided image similarities to learn multiview classifiers. The proposed semantic coherence guided method can be combined with other similarity based methods for image classification with various levels of supervision. We conduct both few-shot and fully supervised classification experiments on four datasets with the results well prove the discriminative power and generalization ability of the proposed method. © 2020 IEEE.

In recent years, numerous technological advancements in Artificial Generative Intelligences (AGIs) have demonstrated significant potential to transform the intelligence acquisition mechanisms in connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs). Integrating technologies like ChatGPT into CAVs can enhance human-machine interactions. However, the emergence of such new traffic entities may introduce unforeseen hallucinations and complex risks that surpass our current understanding. To address these challenges, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and prompt engineering technologies are being explored to enhance the reliability and safety of autonomous driving systems. RAG retrieves relevant contextual information, such as driving experiences and real-time road network status, from external databases to ensure that foundation models have access to accurate and timely data for informed decision-making. Prompt engineering optimizes the performance of large language models in autonomous driving systems by designing and refining prompts that guide the models' responses, thereby improving their relevance and accuracy in various driving scenarios. Together, these technologies enhance the robustness and trustworthiness of autonomous driving systems. This paper proposes DriveRP, a framework that integrates RAG and prompt engineering within the Descriptive-Predictive-Prescriptive Intelligence framework of Parallel Driving theory. DriveRP aims to enhance the safety and interpretability of autonomous vehicle trajectory planning, decision-making, and motion control, ultimately achieving the "6S"goals. Grounded in Digital Twins and Metaverse-embodied parallel driving theory, DriveRP provides the infrastructure and foundational intelligence for parallel driving with Multi-modal Large Lange Models(MLLMs). Additionally, the paper discusses future trends and potential research directions, focusing on the "6S"goals of parallel driving: Smart, Safe, Secure, Sensitive, Sustainable, and Serviceable. © 2
