A facile procedure for the synthesis ofdithieno[5,6-b:11,12-b']coronene-2,3,8,9-tetracarboxylic tetra(2- ethylhexyl)ester (DTCTI'E-EH) from readily available perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracaroboxylic dianhydride is described. The electronic properties of DTCTTE-EH were elucidated on the basis of UV-vis spectra, emission spectrum and electrochemical measurement, which demonstrate that DTCTTE is a new class of components for promising semiconducting materials.

Schwann cells play a key role in peripheral nerve growth and regeneration. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of RGD peptides on Schwann cell behavior, and to identify the effects of the modified PDLLA films with RGD in vivo. The results revealed that RGD coating with the concentration of 100-500 ug/mL promoted the cell proliferation and boosted the cell migration. Molecularly, RGD coating also enhanced the expression of the proliferation related genes (c-fos and c-jun) and the cell behavior related genes (actin, tublin, tau and MAP1) at first stages of the seeding, which is similar to the effects from laminin coating. In vivo, RGD addition improved the recovery efficiency of the transected nerve in regard of the more survived Schwann cells in vivo and the formation of more mature myelin sheath. Taken together, RGD peptides are good candidates to enhance the biocompatibility of the biomaterials and facilitate the peripheral nerve regeneration by prompting responses in Schwann ceils.

The Fe-Ni-Cr alloy is a potential material as bipolar plate for proton exchange membrane fuel cell, and the stamped metal bipolar plate is a promising candidate for the traditional graphite due to the advantages of mass production, low cost and excellent performance. The flow-channel geometrical dimensions, including channel width, rib width, channel depth, draft angle and radius of the fillet, have vital influences on the formability of the alloy during the stamping process. This paper numerically investigates how the serpentine flow-field geometrical dimensions affect the formability of the alloy plate by the finite element software. The finite element model was established with different channel dimensions in this study. The results predict the proper scope of flow-field dimension for alloy used for bipolar plate, further, the stamping process of alloy plate is also optimized to obtain better performance.

Density functional theory calculations were carried out to explore the potential energy surface(PES) associated with the gas-phase reaction of Ni L2(L=SO3CH3) with acetone. The geometries and energies of the reactants, intermediates, products and transition states of the triplet ground potential energy surfaces of [Ni, O, C2, H4] were obtained at the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) levels in C,H,O atoms and B3LYP/ Lanl2 dz in Ni atom. It was found through our calculations that the decabonylation of acetaldehyde contains four steps including encounter complexation, C-C activation, aldehyde H-shift and nonreactive dissociation. The results revealed that C-C activation induced by Ni L2(L=SO3CH3) led to the decarbonylation of acetaldehyde.
