With the development of energy industry and infor-mation technologies, the concept of energy Internet is proposed to prevent the energy crisis and reduce the environmental pollution. However, the planning of energy Internet is facing great challenges that there are large uncertainties of boundary conditions in the planning. The collection of Internet information can help solve the problem. This paper introduces the method of collecting objective data from the Internet, such as renewable energy sources data, climate data, and economic data, and the usage of the data for energy Internet planning. The method of collecting and processing fuzzy information from the Internet are introduced as well. The events related to the energy Internet planning can be perceived and be applied to the multi-scenario planning of energy Internet. Besides, the difficulties and outlooks of the usages are given.

Integrated Energy System is beneficial for promoting the distributed renewable energy (DRE) consumption, thereby alleviating environmental pollution and energy shortage. In this paper, we propose a virtual power plant (VPP) structure considering the feature of heat and electric power system integration, which is defined as Multi-energy Virtual power Plant (MVPP). MVPP is allowed to participate in the electricity market;and price information from bulk power market can affect heating system through the coupling devices, thus optimizing the co-operation of electric and heat system. MVPP is also involved in the auxiliary service market, a penalty term is designed for the Utility to charge MVPP service fee so that power fluctuation on transmission line can be reduced. The case study proved the effectiveness of the penalty term and MVPP is able to provide reserve service for Utility in peak load hours by multi-energy flow coupling under the regulation of feed-in tariff. © 2017 IEEE.

In order to study the electromagnetic coupling law of one typical metal body, electromagnetic simulation software FEKO is utilized to set up the typical metal body model. With the increase of the simulation frequency, different lengths of metal body internal coupling field curve gradually separated, has certain regularity of fitting. Preliminary determination by reducing the length of the metal equivalent for the test model is established and confirmed in law of fitting better experimental spectrum. © 2016 Taylor and Francis Group.

With the rapid development of local generation and demand response,the active distribution network(ADN),which aggregates and manages miscellaneous distributed resources,has moved from theory to *** and optimal operations now require an advanced situation awareness(SA)system so that operators are aware of operation states and potential *** solutions in distribution supervisory control and data acquisition(DSCADA)as well as the distribution automation system(DAS)generally are not able to meet the technology requirements of *** this paper,the authors’participation in the project of developing an SA system as the basic component of a practical active distribution management system(ADMS)deployed in Beijing,China,is *** paper reviews the ADN’s development roadmap by illustrating the changes that are made in elements,topology,structure,and control *** into consideration these hardware changes,a systematic framework is proposed for the main components and the functional hierarchy of an SA system for the *** SA system’s implementation bottlenecks are also presented,including,but not limited to issues in big data platform,distribution forecasting,and security *** technology solutions are also provided.

With the development of smart grid, the self-healing ability of protection device becomes much more important. Pilot protection is of good selectivity, but it needs a highly reliable communication network. Once the communication line between two devices is out of work, pilot protection will be forced out of operation. Since there are many ring structures in communication network, circuitous routes can be found to help pilot protection remain operational. In this paper, ant colony algorithm (ACA) are used to find the optimal circuitous route, and simulation results show the method is fast and accurate. To the actual communication network of power system, each node is just connected to a few other nodes, so the search process often come to dead ends. Use penalty functions can reduce the probability of coming to a dead end and improve the algorithm efficiency. The whole route accelerating penalty function is most efficient.

Obtaining the lightning strike density along an overhead transmission line and identifying the lightning strike types are the key to evaluating the lightning protection performance and proposing reasonable protection schemes of transmission lines. In addition, the waveform characteristics of lightning invasion overvoltage are the basis to establish the standard on the insulation tests of power equipment. Measuring the transient process of lightning striking overhead transmission lines is the basis to carry out the work mentioned above. In this paper, a distributed measurement method of transient current on conductors caused by lightning strikes is proposed. The measuring units are installed on the field conductors of transmission lines every 30 km to obtain less-distorted transient current waveforms. In order to enable measuring units to work in field isolated environment, a power supply coil using Faraday electric-magnetic effect and a wireless communication module is designed and developed. By far, 4776 measuring units have been installed on 597 transmission lines of China's power grid. According to measured transient current waveforms, the lightning strike point can be located using the double-end or single-end travelling wave location method, and the lightning strike type can also be identified. Moreover, a novel measurement method of lightning transient voltage based on the integrated optical electric field sensor (IOEFS) is proposed. In this method, the transient voltage waveforms are inversed from space electric field waveforms measured by IOEFSs. A series of performance tests of IOEFS have been carried out. The test results indicate that the response speed can reach several nanoseconds, and the frequency response can cover 5Hz∼100MHz which is wide enough for the measurement of the lightning transient voltage. Under the situations of energy crisis around the world, Energy Internet has become the focus of international academic and industrial areas. In this paper, comprehensive reviews and prospects were made based on the background and current research status of Energy Internet. Moreover, the core concept, basic structure, and operation mode of Energy Internet were introduced and discussed. Finally, constructive solutions to the current problems were proposed with the demonstration project of Energy Internet that is the Beijing New Aerotropolis, which draws the future of the Energy Internet.

Weather type partition method considering sequential features in photovoltaic forecasting

The prediction method based on the partition of weather types has been widely used in photovoltaic prediction. Here, the temporal characteristics of PV data is studied, the physical meaning of the sequential difference sequences is analysed, and a characteristic index system including sequential characteristics index is proposed. The weather types are partitioned based on self-organising map neural network algorithm. Case study shows that the partition method is helpful to improve the discrimination of weather types and to improve prediction accuracy.

Nowadays as quantities of renewable energy resources are integrated to the power grid, their fluctuation and uncertainties influence violently to power system operation. Stochastic power flow is utilized to handle this issue. However, conventional stochastic power flow did not consider correlation in renewable energies, especially wind farms, leading to errors in power flow analysis. To address this problem, this paper proposes a linear correlation clustering method, which decomposes the non-linear correlated wind power data to several linear models to solve. The data generated from the nonlinear probabilistic distribution is clustered according to similar linear property, still keeping their major features and characteristics. Through analysis in a case study, it is proved that the proposed linear correlation clustering method performs better than existing Gaussian mixture model in both accuracy and computational efficiency. It is insightful to be utilized for stochastic power flow calculation in power system planning and operation.

With the rapid development of distributed energy resources (DERs), it is of vital importance to develop a well-designed transmission cost allocation scheme to reflect the contributions of DERs to the power system. In this paper, a usage-based transmission cost allocation scheme is proposed considering the capability of DERs. Based on the different intentions of transmission capacity, the transmission costs can be classified into four fractions: operating, contingency, planning and invalid transmission costs. On operating conditions, the transmission costs are identified and allocated according to the actual usage of consumers at each node. On contingency conditions, the transmission cost allocation will be influenced by the behaviors of DERs since DERs can provide emergent power support to help alleviate transmission congestion. On planning conditions, the transmission costs are useful in the future. The residual costs, i.e., the invalid transmission costs, should not allocated by consumers because this fraction is caused by the over investment of transmission owners. The case studies based on the IEEE 30-bus system validates the effectiveness of the proposed scheme and model. © 2016, Institution of Engineering and Technology. All rights reserved.
