This paper presents an active disturbance rejection guidance method using quadratic transition for the atmospheric ascent guidance problem. The quadratic transition is designed from the current flight states with a reference trajectory planned off-board. For any states error, the solution of the designed quadratic transition converges to the reference trajectory. The guidance command is obtained from the derivative of the designed quadratic transition. For the unknown modeling error, the guidance command is compensated using the estimated disturbances from the extended state observer. Computer simulation for GHV (Generic Hypersonic Air Vehicle) model, which includes initial states error and modeling error, shows great accuracy and effectiveness of this guidance method. © 2012 IEEE.

Dear Editor, This letter investigates the prescribed-time stabilization of linear singularly perturbed systems. Due to the numerical issues caused by the small perturbation parameter, the off-the-shelf control design techniques for the prescribed-time stabilization of regular linear systems are typically not suitable here. To solve the problem, the decoupling transformation techniques for time-varying singularly perturbed systems are combined with linear time-varying high gain feedback design techniques.

In this paper, a novel terminal guidance law is proposed to solve the problem of exo-atmospheric interception. It is designed based on the proportional navigation (PN) and the classical optimal sliding-mode guidance (OSMG). It overcomes the shortcoming of these two traditional guidance laws and inherits their merits. Particularly, in the scenario of exo-atmospheric interception, when the maneuvering information of the targets are unavailable, the proposed guidance law has superior performance than the traditional guidance law. Briefly, to enhance the interceptive performance, we introduce the optimal control and sliding-mode control methods to the guidance law for maneuvering target's interception. On the other hand, the traditional proportional navigation law is introduced to intercept the target with a constant speed. After that, a fuzzy switching function is provided to harmonize both situations above, according to the real-time estimation of maneuver. To guarantee the stability of the law, a Lyapunov based condition is obtained. Finally, different from the two-dimensional simulation in most of the literatures of terminal guidance law researches, we illustrate our method in the nonlinear discrete three-dimensional simulation environment by the Runge-Kutta method. Compared with the pure OSMG and PN, the proposed law performs better. © IFAC.

The fault detection task in lithium-ion battery management system (BMS) is critical to the safety and reliability of rechargeable and hybrid electric vehicles. To explicitly account for inevitable errors of battery model parameters, a robust fault detection method is proposed in this paper. The residual generator is established by exploiting an equivalent circuit model. The effect of uncertainties on the residual is parametrized as polynomial dependence on probabilistic uncertain parameters and noises. Then Gaussian mixtures are adopted to derive the residual distribution. To account for residual uncertainties in the detection decision, the weighted sum of distances from the generated residual to each Gaussian component of the residual distribution is proposed. Simulation results illustrate that our proposed method outperforms the conventional approach that does not consider parametric uncertainties. © 2019 IEEE.

In this paper, quantitative analysis was implemented to reveal the mechanism of temperature distributions inside cross-flow stack. For this purpose, a differential model of planar cross-flow SOFC stack was built. The effectiveness of this model on describing temperature distributions were full validated by experiments on single cell and a 40-cell stack. Then, the quantitative analysis was given from two aspects, namely heat produced by reactions and heat transmission between gases and solid layer. Particularly, we rigorously revealed the non-intuitive phenomenon that the fuel temperatures were decreasing inside SOFC stack along the fuel flow direction. Moreover, the research idea and the analytical method proposed in this paper also apply to co-flow and counter-flow SOFC. © 2015 IEEE.

Recently, understanding and modeling human behavior have attracted increasing interests. In this paper, we provide some statistical research on human behavior in Web surfing during special stage called Flash Crowd(FC). Approximate entropy is used to find out the FC stage. We quantify behavior patterns by interval time between two consecutive request behaviors. Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical test is used to estimate the appropriate probability distribution function of interval time. The results show that the request behavior patterns varied in different stages. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

A multi-sensor image registration method based on harris corner matching

In this paper, a registration method based on Harris corners is proposed. It is composed of three steps. First, corner extraction and matching. We use the gray level information around the corner to setup the correspondences, then use the affine invariant of Mahalannobis distance to remove the mismatched corner points. From this correspondence of the corner points, the affine matrix between two different images can be determined. Finally, map all points in the sensed image to the reference using the estimated transformation matrix and assign the corresponding gray level by re-sampling the image in the sensed image. Experiments with different types of multi-sensor images demonstrated the feasibility of our method. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2006.

An ACO-based online routing method for multiple order pickers with congestion consideration in warehouse

One of the challenging problems in order picking is how to deal with the congestion happens in warehouse with multiple pickers. In this paper, we consider an ant colony optimization (ACO)-based online routing method to find picking routes for multiple order pickers under nondeterministic picking time. Here, a default route is formed by ACO for each single picker. Then, we coordinate these routes to alleviate congestion by dedicated rules based on indoor positioning and information sharing technologies, during order pickers serve the picking task. Our results indicate that the proposed method can achieve a reduction in the order service time primarily by coping with the congestion. We conclude that the new method is particularly effective in multiple-block picker-to-parts warehouses. © 2014, Springer Science+Business Media New York.

Data alignment based adversarial defense benchmark for EEG-based BCIs

Machine learning has been extensively applied to signal decoding in electroencephalogram (EEG)-based brain–computer interfaces (BCIs). While most studies have focused on enhancing the accuracy of EEG-based BCIs, more attention should be given to their security. Recent findings reveal that EEG-based BCIs are vulnerable to adversarial attacks. To address this, we present the first adversarial defense benchmark based on data alignment, aiming to enhance both the accuracy and robustness of EEG-based BCIs. This study evaluates nine adversarial defense approaches (including five defense strategies) across five EEG datasets (covering three paradigms), three neural networks, and four experimental scenarios. Our results show for the first time that integrating data augmentation, data alignment, and robust training can further improve both the accuracy and robustness of BCIs compared to using only one or two of them. Furthermore, we provide insights into the characteristics of various adversarial defense approaches based on EEG data alignment, offering valuable guidance for developing more accurate and secure EEG-based BCIs. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

In this paper, we investigate the leader-following consensus of second-order multi-agent systems with nonlinear dynamics and time delay by employing periodically intermittent pinning control. All member agents and the virtual leader share the same nonlinear dynamics relating to the velocity and delayed velocity information. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, we obtain a novel criterion that is independent of the time delay and control width to guarantee the second-order consensus of multi-agent systems with time delay and periodically intermittent controllers. Numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the theoretical results. © 2015, Springer Science+Business Media New York.
