Deep matching and Kalman filter-based multiple object tracking (DK-tracking) have been demonstrated to be promising. However, most of existing DK-tracking trackers assume that objects are slow-varying movement with a constant velocity. The assumption is hard to be satisfied in the real world, especially in the image space due to the sight distance. In this paper, we propose a novel multiple object tracking method combining deep feature matching, Kalman filter and flow information, which is called DK-flow-tracking, to improve tracking performance. In DK-flow-tracking, optical flow in consecutive frames is used to provide accurate object motion information for guiding Kalman filter to track objects. Experiments are performed on public datasets: MOT2016, MOT2017, and the proposed method achieves better performances compared to the DK-tracking with the assumption of a constant velocity movement.

Discriminative graph regularized broad learning system for image recognition

Broad learning system(BLS) has been proposed as an alternative method of deep learning. The architecture of BLS is that the input is randomly mapped into series of feature spaces which form the feature nodes, and the output of the feature nodes are expanded broadly to form the enhancement nodes, and then the output weights of the network can be determined analytically. The most advantage of BLS is that it can be learned incrementally without a retraining process when there comes new input data or neural nodes. It has been proven that BLS can overcome the inadequacies caused by training a large number of parameters in gradient-based deep learning algorithms. In this paper, a novel variant graph regularized broad learning system(GBLS) is proposed. Taking account of the locally invariant property of data, which means the similar images may share similar properties, the manifold learning is incorporated into the objective function of the standard BLS. In GBLS, the output weights are constrained to learn more discriminative information,and the classification ability can be further enhanced. Several experiments are carried out to verify that our proposed GBLS model can outperform the standard BLS. What is more, the GBLS also performs better compared with other state-of-the-art image recognition methods in several image databases.

Polysilicon is mainly obtained by chemical vapor deposition(CVD) reaction, in which hydrogen gas and trichlorosilane(TCS) are fed into the CVD reactor to produce polysilicon. However, the feeding parameters are mainly adjusted in a step-by-step manner according to the actual deposition results, which is inefficient to optimize and prone to resource wastage. In this paper, based on the existing mechanistic model of the CVD reactor, we combine the history data with the specific parameters to construct a simulator. A random search algorithm is used to determine the optimal feeding parameters. With the simulator, the polysilicon productivity can be increased by 704 kg, and the power consumption reduced by 3.8 kWh/kg. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Parallel manufacturing in Industry 5.0 requires digital twin to digitize physical systems, building virtual models to open up channels connecting physical systems, information systems, and social systems, and transforming the physical models of the existing production environment to achieve two-way feedback of virtual and real is the current research direction. This paper proposes the modeling idea of lightweight digital twin, extracts core dimensions and performs digital virtual simulation, so as to quickly realize the complete process of two-way feedback, and realize a set of chess flexible parallel manufacturing production lines as a practice for the design of complete lightweight digital twin.

Many real-world optimization problems exhibit dynamic characteristics, posing significant challenges for traditional optimization techniques. Evolutionary Dynamic Optimization Algorithms (EDOAs) are designed to address these challenges effectively. However, in existing literature, the reported results for a given EDOA can vary significantly. This inconsistency often arises because the source codes for many EDOAs, which are typically complex, have not been made publicly available, leading to error-prone re-implementations. To support researchers in conducting experiments and comparing their algorithms with various EDOAs, we have developed an open-source MATLAB platform called the Evolutionary Dynamic Optimization laboratory (EDOLAB). This platform not only facilitates research but also includes an educational module designed for instructional purposes. The education module allows users to observe: a) a 2-dimensional problem space and its morphological changes following each environmental change, b) the behaviors of individuals over time, and c) how the EDOA responds to environmental changes and tracks the moving optimum. The current version of EDOLAB features 25 EDOAs and four fully parametric benchmark generators. © 2023, CC BY-NC-SA.

Deep reinforcement learning based automatic exploration for navigation in unknown environment

This paper investigates the automatic exploration problem under the unknown environment, which is the key point of applying the robotic system to some social tasks. The solution to this problem via stacking decision rules is impossible to cover various environments and sensor properties. Learning based control methods are adaptive for these scenarios. However, these methods are damaged by low learning efficiency and awkward transferability from simulation to reality. In this paper, we construct a general exploration framework via decomposing the exploration process into the decision, planning, and mapping modules, which increases the modularity of the robotic system. Based on this framework, we propose a deep reinforcement learning based decision algorithm which uses a deep neural network to learning exploration strategy from the partial map. The results show that this proposed algorithm has better learning efficiency and adaptability for unknown environments. In addition, we conduct the experiments on the physical robot, and the results suggest that the learned policy can be well transfered from simulation to the real robot. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Calibration of simulation system is an important step to establish a reliable simulation system. In this paper, based on the existing mean field calibration theory, a new fast calibration method for complex urban traffic system based on mean field method is discussed by establishing the relationship between the macroscopic observation quantity and the proxy microscopic parameters. This method makes use of the machine learning method, and reduces the dimension of the state vector in the discrete time period, so that the dimension of the macroscopic state transition matrix is lower, and then reduces the computational complexity of the system calibration. Finally, the calibration results of the simulation system were verified by SUMO traffic simulation software.

3D face reconstruction from a single 2D facial image is a challenging and concerned problem. Recent methods based on CNN typically aim to learn parameters of 3D Morphable Model (3DMM) from 2D images to render face alignment and 3D face reconstruction. Most algorithms are designed for faces with small, medium yaw angles, which is extremely challenging to align faces in large poses. At the same time, they are not efficient usually. The main challenge is that it takes time to determine the parameters accurately. In order to address this challenge with the goal of improving performance, this paper proposes a novel and efficient end-to-end framework. We design an efficient and lightweight network model combined with Depthwise Separable Convolution and Muti-scale Representation, Lightweight Attention Mechanism, named Mobile-FRNet. Simultaneously, different loss functions are used to constrain and optimize 3DMM parameters and 3D vertices during training to improve the performance of the network. Meanwhile, extensive experiments on the challenging datasets show that our method significantly improves the accuracy of face alignment and 3D face reconstruction. Model parameters and complexity of our method are also improved greatly.
