The battery packs experience alternate current in the modular multilevel converter battery energy storage system (MMC-BESS), which can cause additional charge throughput and shorten the lifetime of the battery. Therefore, an additional charge throughput reduction method has been proposed for the MMC-BESS based on the second-order circulating current injection. Firstly, the principle of the MMC-BESS is introduced. Then, the additional charge throughput is analyzed by the instantaneous power fluctuation in the arms of the MMC-BESS. Afterwards, a second-order circulating current is injected to adjust the power in the arms of the MMC-BESS. As a result, the additional charge and discharge of the battery packs can be reduced in each fundamental cycle. Finally, comparative experiments are conducted and the results show that compared with the conventional methods, the proposed method can effectively reduce the additional charge throughput of the battery packs in the MMC-BESS. © 2023, Beijing Paike Culture Commu. The aerospace relay, a complex and precise power transmission system integrating electromagnetic and mechanical elements, holds vital significance for spacecraft safety, rendering its operational condition crucial. Therefore, it is imperative to conduct assessments of the health status of aerospace relays. However, existing models for aerospace relays are beset with issues related to data uncertainty and lack of interpretability of evaluation outcomes. Existing models for aerospace relays grapple with issues surrounding data uncertainty and the uninterpretable nature of their evaluation results. The extended belief rule base (EBRB) is a modeling approach adept at addressing uncertainties, characterized by a lucid inference mechanism and inherently interpretable results. However, current research has overlooked the fact that, during actual operation of aerospace relays, external disturbances and internal influences can lead to an imbalance among health status categories, resulting in a tendency for minority samples to be disregarded during training and rendering accurate evaluations of all categories unattainable. Consequently, this paper proposes an EBRB-based method for assessing the health status of aerospace relays that incorporates Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE). Firstly, the sample dataset is balanced using SMOTE. Secondly, an EBRB model is constructed to process the data. Lastly, ensemble reasoning (ER) algorithm is employed for fusion inference. In the experiment, the data processed by this model demonstrated obvious advantages across all performance indicators, indicating the model's powerful efficacy in the health status assessment of aerospace relays.

Large-scale long-distance offshore wind farms with MVDC collection system are rapidly becoming a preferred choice for power transmission. The high ratio DC/DC converter to interconnect the MVDC collection and HVDC transmission systems remains the technical hurdle. It suffers large input current and high output voltage, as a result the semiconductors must be rated with the highest current and voltage stress. This paper proposes a new DC/DC converter topology, which is comprised of mature half-bridge submodule strings, low-cost series-connection diodes valves and thyristors valves. Alternatively, the strings are connected in parallel to share large current of MVDC, or in series to sustain high voltage of HVDC, resulting in high device utilization and conversion efficiency. The topology structure, operating principle, and circuit design are discussed. The effectiveness of proposed converter is verified by simulation study of a 100MW 35kV/100kV system and experimental study of a 2.4kW 120V/360V scaled down prototype. © VDE VERLAG GMBH · Berlin · Offenbach.

Enhancement of the mariculture wastewater treatment based on the bacterial-microalgal consortium

Though bacterial-microalgal consortium (BM) system showed significant advantages for the mariculture wastewater treatment, how the high saline to the degradation of nitrogen, phosphorus and organic component shift need to be further investigated. In this study, three systems including the microalgae system (MA), activated sludge system (AS) and BM were parallel operated. The mariculture wastewater treatment performance and the shifts of soluble microbial products (SMPs) components were compared among the above systems. The result showed that the highest removals of NH4+-N (92.78%), PO43−-P (79.47%) and total organic carbon (TOC) (81.67%) were obtained in the BM system. This result demonstrated that the confederate effect between bacteria and microalgae showed satisfying mariculture wastewater treatment performance compared to the individual MA or AS system. In terms of the SMP production, the high salinity resulted in much SMP accumulation (178.89 mg/L of protein and 71.35 chancinmg/L of carbohydrate) in the MA system. Fortunately, the high salinity inhibition effect was dramatic reduction with less SMP accumulation in the BM system. The EEM result showed amounts of macromolecular organics of protein (aromatic-like substances and tryptophan-like substances) were the main components in the MA system, which were much higher than that in the AS and BM system. This indicated the macromolecular protein-like matters could not be removed absolutely based the individual MA system. Comparatively, the composition of SMP was shifted by the bacterial-microalgal consortium with less humic-like matters and tryptophan-like matters production in the BM system. The less SMP release had advantage to the stable operation of the bacterial-microalgal consortium. Hence, the bacterial-microalgal consortium contributed to a much stable micro-ecological environment formation for enhancing the high salinity mariculture wastewater treatment performance © 2021

An asymmetric plasma activation strategy was developed for targeted activation towards dissimilar materials. By using the appropriate plasma gases, a balance is achieved between surface functionalization and subsurface regulation to avoid damage formation. Therefore, the defect-free InP/Si and InP/LiNbO 3 interfaces were constructed at low annealing temperatures for hybrid integrated quantum systems.

Comparing the isotopic composition of the D/H ratio of the water ice in main belt comets (MBCs) to that of the oceans on the Earth can enhance the understanding of where the water comes from and of how the distribution of the water ices in our early solar system. Since mineral volatiles are normally covered underground, it is difficult to accurately detect its composition from remote observation. Herein, a subsurface penetrating probe integrated with non-contamination detonation is proposed to realize an in-situ exploration. Under the rapid turbo-blasting interaction, the surrounding rubble piles will be definitely blown away, leaving an artificial crater for later remote observation. A novel a helium type turbo-blasting device (TBD) is proposed and designed. The simulant rubble pile structure detonation experiments verified the detonation equivalent.

Stabilization of linear systems with multiple unknown time-varying input delays by linear time-varying feedback

This paper addresses the stabilization of linear systems with multiple time-varying input delays. In scenarios where neither the exact delays information nor their bound is known, we propose a class of linear time-varying state feedback controllers by using the solution to a parametric Lyapunov equation (PLE). By leveraging the properties of the solution to the PLE and constructing a time-varying Lyapunov-Krasovskii-like functional, we prove that (the zero solution of) the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable. Furthermore, this result is extended to the observer-based output feedback case. The notable characteristic of these controllers is their utilization of linear time-varying gains. Furthermore, they are designed entirely independent of any knowledge of the time delays, resulting in controllers that are exceedingly easy to implement. Finally, a numerical example demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. © 2025, CC BY.

Deep learning-based super-resolution (SR) reconstruction is a critical approach which is used to generate high-resolution images from corresponding low-resolution images. However, the CNN-based methods are ineffective in capturing global information, whereas the Transformer-based methods have limited ability to model long-range dependencies caused by window self-attention. Besides, it is a challenging task to recover lost high-frequency information from downsampled images. In this paper, a Hybrid Information Enhanced Network (HIEN) is proposed for MRI super-resolution task. Specifically, we propose a Spatial-Channel Hybrid Attention (SCHA) to enhance specific semantics representation by combining spatial and channel self-attention together. To recover more high-frequency components, we propose a Dynamic High-Frequency Pass Filter (DHPF) to preserve high-frequency information adaptively in pixel-wise. The results of our extensive experiments indicate that HIEN outperforms other state-of-the-art methods.

Cochlear implantation is the most effective treatment for severe deafness, which requires accurate localization of temporal bone anatomy. Preoperative CT image segmentation is an essential technique to determine the location of relevant tissues in the temporal bone. However, manual segmentation is usually time-consuming and suffers from low accuracy due to the complex and small structures of these tissues in temporal bone CT. To address this issue, we proposed a CNN-Transformer structure-based 3D multi-structured model for the automatic segmentation of fine and complex tissues such as the cochlea, facial nerve, ossicles, vestibule and semicircular canal in the temporal bone CT. Our model adopts a new Transformer deformation structure, which effectively utilizes the spatial attention mechanism to capture feature dependencies, and uses the channel attention mechanism to fuse different channel semantic representations to improve segmentation accuracy. Extensive experiments on a private temporal bone CT dataset show that our model achieves higher DSS and JSS scores, and lower HD95 and ASSD scores for all targets compared with other existing segmentation methods, demonstrating its superior performance.
