This paper is concerned with issue of stability analysis and control synthesis for a class of switched LPV systems with stochastic mode switching. The stochastic switching process is further regarded as hidden semi-Markov switching by using concepts of semi-Markov kernel and emission probability. With the construction of a novel Lyapunov function that depends on accessible-mode, parameter as well as elapsed time, the mean-square stability (MSS) criteria are developed for the closed-loop system with the usage of designed controller. Numerically testable stability criteria are established in sense of MSS by introducing the upper bound sojourn time and some mathematical techniques. The theoretical results are testified by a numerical example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the designed stabilizing controller. © 2021 IEEE.

Research on applicability of containment test data for HPR1000 based on phenomena scaling

The volume of the nuclear power plant containment is huge, making it difficult to conduct equal-scale or large-scale thermal-hydraulic tests. Currently the test data mainly come from small-scale tests. To address the applicability of small-scale containment test data in validation process of the containment performance analysis code, the analysis method for applicability of experimental data is proposed and developed on the basis of similarity analysis of the pressure response process in the containment. The applicability study of the test data, which are produced by some scaled containment facilities such as the HDR, Battelle and CVTR, is carried out in combination with the test parameters. The applicability of each test case isobtained respectively when they are applied to validate the containment code in case of the Large Break Loss of Coolant Accident (LBLOCA) and Main Steam Line Break Accident (MSLB) of HPR1000 nuclear power plant. The results show that the similarity criteria for pressure response process and key phenomena within the containment vessel under accident conditions can be employed to analyze the applicability of different containment tests to specified power plant. The test dataoriginating fromHDR ISP-16 and HDR ISP-23can represent the pressure transient process, results of coupling phenomena such as mass and energy release at the break, condensation near the containment shell and internals, within the HPR1000 containment in case of LBLOCA or MSLB. The distortion is either within the acceptable range or conservative for design limits of containment pressure, so that the small-scale containment test data could be suitable for verification and validation of the HPR1000 containment thermal hydraulic response analysis code. © 2025 Xi'an Jiaotong University

Mechanisms of Aerobic Phosphate Uptake in Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal systems from Bioenergetic and Metagenomic Perspectives

To investigate the mechanisms of aerobic phosphate uptake in enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) systems, two sequencing batch reactors (SBRs) were operated with acetate (SBR1) or propionate (SBR2) as the sole carbon source. The effluent phosphate concentration of SBR2 (0.03 ± 0.01 mg-P/L) was significantly lower than that of SBR1 (0.12 ± 0.02 mg-P/L) during operation days 29~117. Aerobic phosphate uptake was found to be more sensitive to low phosphate concentrations for sludge from SBR1 (sludge 1). By using a proton motive force (PMF) uncoupler, off-line tests showed that both low (Pit) and high (Pst) affinity phosphate transporters played roles in aerobic phosphate uptake and that the Pst system was only activated when phosphate concentrations fell below certain thresholds of 10 mg-P/L for sludge 1 and 30 mg-P/L for sludge 2. Furthermore, at initial phosphate concentration of 10 mg-P/L, higher Pst activity was observed for sludge 2. Metagenomic analysis showed that Candidatus Accumulibacter and Pseudomonas were the dominant genera of polyphosphate accumulating organisms (PAOs) in SBR2, whereas in SBR1 it was Thiothrix. From the perspective of molecular biology, the higher proportion of phosphate transport genes (pit, pstA, and pstC) and the lower proportion of regulatory genes (phoR and phoB) in SBR2 appear to explain the different characteristics of phosphate transport in the two systems. © 2023, The Authors. In this paper, we consider a sparse array enabled near-field communication system and characterize its spatial multiplexing gain. To this end, a closed-form effective degree of freedom (EDoF) is first obtained for the sparse uniform linear array (S-ULA) and then extended to the extended coprime array (ECA). Based on the closed-form EDoF, we show that the EDoF only depends on the main-lobe of a defined effective beam pattern based on a sampling function. Specifically, given the same number of antennas and array sparsity, a narrower main-lobe generally leads to a larger EDoF. Based on this, we further show that the EDoF for the ECA is larger than that of the S-ULA and dense ULA (D-ULA), due to narrower main-lobe of the effective beam pattern. Furthermore, we characterize the channel capacity of the ECA systems based on the obtained EDoF analysis. Finally, numerical results validate the accuracy of the obtained EDoF and channel capacity.

With the vigorous development of low orbit satellite internet, the advantage of wide area coverage in satellite communication can effectively compensate for the limited coverage capacity of ground cellular networks. Therefore, studying how ground users can access the low Earth orbit satellite internet and how to allocate resources after access is an important part of the implementation of the space-air-ground integrated network. On the other hand, since entering the AI era, deep learning has always provided rich possibilities for solving various problems. Therefore, achieving the allocation of satellite power between satellite to ground links based on deep learning has important research significance. This paper discusses a model for users to access satellite networks nearby, and establishes an optimization problem for satellite power allocation with the goal of maximizing satellite network capacity. Since the downlink channel fading of low orbit satellites mainly comes from path loss, the geographic location information of satellites and ground stations can be used as input features for neural networks to learn power allocation methods. This paper constructs a forward propagation neural network and trains it in a supervised manner. Through simulation, it can be proven that the neural network proposed in this paper can effectively allocate satellite downlink power at a lower algorithm complexity.

太阳能海水淡化是解决全球淡水短缺的最有前景方法之一.然而,传统的蒸发体在高盐度海水中遭遇了盐累积带来的蒸发速率下降甚至失效的瓶颈.受古代水车的启发,本文开发了一种自适应旋转蒸发器,其可以在任意浓度的盐水中实现长期高效的太阳能海水淡化.这种蒸发器是一种双硫化物负载的滚筒式生物质炭.借助了木材天然的水传输通道和分层结构,蒸发器具有杰出的水供应和热定位能力.实验和数值模拟表明,归因于其低密度及独特的亲疏水特性,这个蒸发器能够在盐结晶产生的重心偏移下周期性转动以实现自动盐移除.这使得这个蒸发体甚至可以在饱和盐水(26.47%)中,24 h内保持2.8 kg m^(-2)h^(-1)的高蒸发速率,这是过去一直无法实现的.因此,这项概念验证工作展示了一种不受浓度和运行时间限制的、自旋转诱导脱盐的蒸发器.

Learning from natural bacteria flagellum, we demonstrate a magnetic polymer multilayer conical microrobot that bestow the controllable propulsion upon external rotating magnetic field with uniform intensity. The magnetic microrobots were constructed by template-assisted Layer-by-Layer technique technique and subsequent functionalization of magnetic particle onto the big opening of the microrobots. Geometric variables of the polymer microrobots, such as the diameter and wall thickness, can be controlled by selection of porous template and layers of assembly. The microrobots perform controllable propulsion through the manipulation of magnetic field. The comparative analysis of the movement behavior reveals that the deformation of microrobots may attributed to the propulsion upon rotating magnetic field, which is similar as that of natural bacteria. The influence of actuation frequencies and frequencies on the velocity of the microrobots is studied. Such use of polymer polymer multilayer tubular micro/nanoarchitectures results in significant savings in the processing costs and provides a simple and cost-effective fabrication route for the mass production of magnetic polymer microrobots. © 2024, The Authors. This study focuses on robust predictive control for cascaded under-actuated systems (UASs) based on fully-actuated system (FAS) approaches. Rooted in the fundamental principles of model mechanics, the dynamic model for a cascade UAS is derived from the Lagrangian equation. A global coordinate transformation is given for the cascaded UAS, which kinetic and potential energy are in general forms, such that the cascade UAS is converted into an equivalent FAS. Meanwhile, considering discretization errors inevitably introduced during the model discretization process, the FAS-RPC control scheme is proposed. The predictive controller is solved through linear matrix inequalities (LMI) and the asymptotical stability of the closed-loop system and minimum of robust performance index can be guaranteed simultaneously. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by the simulation of a cascaded under-actuated dual rotational translational actuator (RTAC) system.
