Graph few-shot learning aims to predict well by training with very few labeled data. Meta learning has been the most popular solution for few-shot learning problem. However, transductive linear probing shows that fine-tuning a simple linear classification head after a pretrained graph neural networks can outperforms most of the sophisticated-designed graph meta learning algorithms. Therefore, in the paper, we propose a meta transductive linear probing methods named Meta-TLP to incorporate the advantages of graph self-supervised and graph meta learning model. Specifically, the graph neural network is firstly pretrained with graph contrastive learning methods. Then we design an unsupervised meta training task construction methods to require meta tasks without relying on labeled data. Finally, we meta training the linear classification head on the meta training tasks to learn to fast adopt to novel classes. Experiment results show that our model can perform better than TLP on three real world datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

High-temperature optoelectronic synaptic devices based on 4H-SiC

Optoelectronic synaptic devices operating at high temperatures have application potential across many important fields, including the aerospace and defense industries. However, limited research exists on such devices. Herein, we fabricate4H-SiC-based high-temperature optoelectronic synaptic devices that are capable of achieving diverse synaptic functionalities at temperatures as high as 600 K. The synaptic functionalities are realized for these devices through carrier capture and release of the deep-level defects introduced via electronic irradiation. A 3 × 3 array of high-temperature optoelectronic synaptic devices enables the image memory functions. A neural network model constructed using this array addresses the issue of color quantization. The optoelectronic synaptic devices thus developed are capable of high-temperature applications.

The convergence properties of infeasible inexact proximal alternating linearized minimization

The proximal alternating linearized minimization(PALM)method suits well for solving blockstructured optimization problems,which are ubiquitous in real *** the cases where subproblems do not have closed-form solutions,e.g.,due to complex constraints,infeasible subsolvers are indispensable,giving rise to an infeasible inexact PALM(PALM-I).Numerous efforts have been devoted to analyzing the feasible PALM,while little attention has been paid to the *** usage of the PALM-I thus lacks a theoretical *** essential difficulty of analysis consists in the objective value nonmonotonicity induced by the *** study in the present work the convergence properties of the *** particular,we construct a surrogate sequence to surmount the nonmonotonicity issue and devise an implementable inexact *** upon these,we manage to establish the stationarity of any accumulation point,and moreover,show the iterate convergence and the asymptotic convergence rates under the assumption of the Lojasiewicz *** prominent advantages of the PALM-I on CPU time are illustrated via numerical experiments on problems arising from quantum physics and 3-dimensional anisotropic frictional contact.

The far-field microdynamic disturbance caused by the excavation of deep mineral resources and underground engineering can induce surrounding rock damage in high-stress conditions and even lead to ***,the mechanical properties and damage/fracture evolution mechanisms of deep rock induced by microdynamic disturbance under three-dimensional stress states are ***,a true triaxial multilevel disturbance test method is proposed,which can completely simulate natural geostress,excavation stress redistribution(such as stress unloading,concentration and rotation),and subsequently the microdynamic disturbance triggering damaged rock *** on a dynamic true triaxial test platform,true triaxial microdynamic disturbance tests under different frequency and amplitudes were carried out on *** results show that increasing amplitude or decreasing frequency diminishes the failure strength of *** modulus gradually decreases during disturbance *** frequency and amplitude increase,the degradation rate of deformation modulus decreases slightly,disturbance dissipated energy increases significantly,and disturbance deformation anisotropy strengthens obviously.A damage model has been proposed to quantitatively characterize the disturbance-induced damage evolution at different frequency and amplitude under true triaxial *** disturbance failure,the micro-tensile crack mechanism is dominant,and the micro-shear crack mechanism increases significantly at *** the increase of amplitude and frequency,the micro-shear crack mechanism *** approaching disturbance failure,the acoustic emission fractal dimension changes from a stable value to local large oscillation,and finally increases sharply to a high value at ***,the disturbance-induced failure mechanism of surrounding rock in deep engineering is clearly elucidated.

IP geolocation technology can estimate or determine the geographical location of terminal device through IP address, which is an important basis for location-based network services. The existing IP geolocation methods based on network measurement cannot accurately obtain the network environment when the target does not respond to the detection message, so it is difficult to achieve high-precision geolocation. To solve this problem, a reachable landmark grouping based IP geolocation method for unreachable target (RLGBG) is proposed in this manuscript. RLGBG first detects landmark data extensively, filters, evaluates and retains reliable and accessible landmarks. Secondly, RLGBG counts the topological relationship and geographical distribution among the reachable landmarks, groups the landmarks according to the common router, and divides the landmarks into different groups after checking by geographical location. Then, the continuous IP segments are divided into IP blocks according to landmark groups, and the location range of each IP block is calculated by the landmarks within each group. Finally, RLGBG counts the IP blocks containing the target, merges those IP blocks that are geographically coincident and topologically related, and estimates the target’s location by calculating the landmark center within the IP blocks. The geolocation experiments based on four cities in China show that RLGBG can effectively estimate the location of unreachable IP targets, and its accuracy and coverage are higher than the existing typical method and IP location databases. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Fiber materials are key materials that have changed human history and promoted the progress of human civilization. In ancient times, humans used feathers and animal skins for clothing, and later they widely employed natural fibers such as cotton, hemp, silk and wool to make fabrics(Fig. 1a). Chinese ancestors had mastered the art of natural fiber weaving as early as the Neolithic *** thousand years ago, people were already familiar with and adept at techniques for spinning natural fibers [1].

As quantum computing continues to advance, the complexity of control systems for superconducting qubits also increases. This paper presents a genetic algorithm (GA) approach for optimizing the control systems in quantum computing. Focusing on minimizing costs, maximizing resource utilization, and reducing device count, the study demonstrates the algorithm's effectiveness in configuring control systems efficiently. Experimental results from five quantum chips, ranging from 64 to 1024 bits, demonstrate significant improvements in cost efficiency and device management after 500 generations of optimization. The findings highlight the algorithm's adaptability to different quantum system scales and its potential in enhancing the scalability and efficiency of quantum computing architectures. © 2024 SPIE.

Intelligent indoor metasurface robotics

Intelligent indoor robotics is expected to rapidly gain importance in crucial areas of our modern society such as at-home health care and factories. Yet, existing mobile robots are limited in their ability to perceive and respond to dynamically evolving complex indoor environments because of their inherently limited sensing and computing resources that are, moreover, traded off against their cruise time and payload. To address these formidable challenges, here we propose intelligent indoor metasurface robotics(I2MR),where all sensing and computing are relegated to a centralized robotic brain endowed with microwave perception; and I2MR's limbs(motorized vehicles, airborne drones, etc.) merely execute the wirelessly received instructions from the brain. The key aspect of our concept is the centralized use of a computation-enabled programmable metasurface that can flexibly mold microwave propagation in the indoor wireless environment, including a sensing and localization modality based on configurational diversity and a communication modality to establish a preferential high-capacity wireless link between the I2MR's brain and limbs. The metasurface-enhanced microwave perception is capable of realizing low-latency and high-resolution three-dimensional imaging of humans, even around corners and behind thick concrete walls, which is the basis for action decisions of the I2MR's brain. I2MR is thus endowed with real-time and full-context awareness of its operating indoor environment. We implement, experimentally, a proof-of-principle demonstration at ～2.4 GHz, in which I2MR provides health-care assistance to a human inhabitant. The presented strategy opens a new avenue for the conception of smart and wirelessly networked indoor robotics.

Artificial afferent neurons based on the metal-insulator transition of VO2

Neuromorphic computing offers significant advantages in addressing data redundancy and enhancing system energy efficiency. Although extensive research has been conducted on pulsed neural networks and bionic sensors, the development of artificial electronic afferent neurons for low-energy information transfer remains limited. This study introduces an artificial afferent neuron comprising a vanadium dioxide（VO2）device, capacitor and resistor. The VO2devices exhibit stable electrically induced metal-insulator transition（MIT）. Leveraging the MIT of this device, we develop an artificial afferent neuron to transform constant or sinusoidal analog signals into pulsed voltage signals. The output frequency increases with the increase of the input voltage, mimicking the faster pulse outputs of biological afferent neurons in response to stronger stimuli.
