With the rapid expansion of large-scale renewable energy bases in China, optimizing the allocation of renewable energy and energy storage capacity is crucial for improving system efficiency. In this paper, a joint optimal configuration method of wind-photovoltaic-energy storage capacity based on time series production simulation is proposed for renewable energy transmission base. Its aim is to minimize the total investment cost of the system under certain constraints about the proportion of renewable energy power generation, renewable energy utilization rate, conventional thermal power operation, energy storage power station operation, ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) regulation and power transmission. To handle the nonlinear constraints, linearization is achieved by introducing integer variables. For the complex operation constraints of conventional thermal power and UHVDC channel, a simplified modeling method of start-stop cycle and adjustment cycle is proposed, which can effectively reduce the number of integer variables and improve the solving efficiency. The effectiveness of the proposed method is tested on the data of a renewable energy base in Northwest China. © 2023 IEEE.

Load balancing is vital for the efficient and long-term operation of cloud data *** virtualization,post(reactive)migration of virtual machines(VMs)after allocation is the traditional way for load balancing and consoli***,it is not easy for reactive migration to obtain predefined load balance objectives and it may interrupt services and bring ***,we provide a new approach,called Prepartition,for load *** partitions a VM request into a few sub-requests sequentially with start time,end time and capacity demands,and treats each sub-request as a regular VM *** this way,it can proactively set a bound for each VM request on each physical machine and makes the scheduler get ready before VM migration to obtain the predefined load balancing goal,which supports the resource allocation in a fine-grained *** with real-world trace and synthetic data show that our proposed approach with offline version(PrepartitionOff)scheduling has 10%–20%better performance than the existing load balancing baselines under several metrics,including average utilization,imbalance degree,makespan and Capacity_*** also extend Prepartition to online load *** results show that our proposed approach also outperforms state-of-the-art online algorithms.

A RIEMANNIAN EXPONENTIAL AUGMENTED LAGRANGIAN METHOD FOR computing THE PROJECTION ROBUST WASSERSTEIN DISTANCE

Projecting the distance measures onto a low-dimensional space is an efficient way of mitigating the curse of dimensionality in the classical Wasserstein distance using optimal transport. The obtained maximized distance is referred to as projection robust Wasserstein (PRW) distance. In this paper, we equivalently reformulate the computation of the PRW distance as an optimization problem over the Cartesian product of the Stiefel manifold and the Euclidean space with additional nonlinear inequality constraints. We propose a Riemannian exponential augmented Lagrangian method (ReALM) with a global convergence guarantee to solve this problem. Compared with the existing approaches, ReALM can potentially avoid too small penalty parameters. Moreover, we propose a framework of inexact Riemannian gradient descent methods to solve the subproblems in ReALM efficiently. In particular, by using the special structure of the subproblem, we give a practical algorithm named as the inexact Riemannian Barzilai-Borwein method with Sinkhorn iteration (iRBBS). The remarkable features of iRBBS lie in that it performs a flexible number of Sinkhorn iterations to compute an inexact gradient with respect to the projection matrix of the problem and adopts the Barzilai-Borwein stepsize based on the inexact gradient information to improve the performance. We show that iRBBS can return an ǫ-stationary point of the original PRW distance problem within O(ǫ−3) iterations. Extensive numerical results on synthetic and real datasets demonstrate that our proposed ReALM as well as iRBBS outperform the state-of-the-art solvers for computing the PRW *** Codes 65K10, 90C26, 90C47 Copyright © 2022, The Authors. In Optical Network-on-Chip (ONoC), both routing and wavelength assignment have an impact on the Optical Signal-to-Noise (OSNR), which further influence the power efficiency and scalability. In this work, we propose a multidimensional Integrated RWA method based on the fuzzy logic system (named as I-RWA) which considers routing and wavelength assignment. OSNR, traffic distribution, waiting delay and wavelength utilization are taken into consideration at the same time. The effect of wavelength assignment on OSNR is also discussed. The evaluation results show that the proposed method I-RWA can obtain the best performance in OSNR and is feasible to be adapted for other more performance factors. © 2022 IEEE.

The rapid increase in computer hardware capabilities demands the need for greater parallel efficiency. While the existing CPU parallelization techniques using OpenMP provide adequate performance on parallelizing intensive scientific compute workloads, they lack user flexibility in controlling parallelism, which can enhance performance. In this paper we describe a new port of Livermore Unstructured Lagrangian Explicit Shock Hydrodynamics(LULESH), a widely studied benchmark in the Department of Energy co-design efforts for ExaScale computing, to HPX and HPXMP (a new OpenMP backend of HPX), and an evaluation of the performance on Intel, AMD, ARM, and RISC-V architectures. We explain how we progressively incorporated HPX's parallel features to boost the performance of an HPX-enabled LULESH, including using parallel execution policy, hpx::for_loop, and HPX's fork-join executor. We compare the shared memory parallelism performance of five LULESH versions: NVC++ implementation using C++ algorithms, OpenMP pragma-based implementation, HPX implementation using C++ algorithms, HPX using fork-join executors, and HPXMP. Using HPXMP we observed an average speedup of 1.4x, 1.5x, 1.2x, and 1.3x relative to OpenMP on Intel, AMD, ARM, and RISC-V processors respectively across 3 different workload sizes. We observed a speedup of 1.1x and 2.2x relative to OpenMP on Intel and AMD respectively using Fork Join Executors. These findings suggest that HPXMP can offer a direct enhancement to existing OpenMP codebases across a wide range of architectures, without any modifications to the original source code, whereas HPX's fork-join executors provide finer control of parallelism and increased performance. HPXMP also provides a viable first step on a migration path for OpenMP applications to HPX. © 2024 Owner/Author.

Tunable Room-Temperature Phosphorescence in Hydrogen-Bonded Organic Crystals via H-Bonding Units

Organic room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials with tunable emission colors, lifetime, and quantum yield have important implications for applications in optoelectronics, bioimaging, and anti-counterfeiting. Herein, a facile strategy is presented for multi-parameters switchable RTP by introducing second H-bonding units (SHUs) capable of adsorption and desorption, such as H2O and DMSO, into hydrogen-bonded organic crystals. It is found that the incorporation of H2O molecules into the HOC-PM-H2O structure establishes a robust hydrogen bonding network that stabilizes the triplet excited states, thereby suppressing non-radiative transitions and extending the phosphorescence lifetime to 904 ± 45 ms. In contrast, DMSO molecules in the HOC-PM-DMSO structure promote the separation of aggregate states, leading to a transition in phosphorescence from yellow-green to blue with a quantum yield of up to 63%. The RTP performance of HOC-PM-H2O and HOC-PM-DMSO can be reversibly switched by SHUs. By leveraging the temporal and spatial changes in lifetime and color, an information security system and afterglow displays activated by SHUs are developed. The SHUs-activated strategy not only provides a robust platform for revealing structure-property relationships but also offers a novel approach to designing advanced functional materials with specific luminescent properties. © 2025 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

Blockchain can be envisioned as an enabling framework in terms of cryptography and distributed computing to construct trusted data records among un-trusted users. It can be applied in two typical scenarios - historical process provenance and transaction tracing, by immutably sequentialized blocks. In the former there exists no tokens;but in the latter token handover among accounts should be cryptographically guaranteed. In some situations, above two applications may be both required. E.g., in the manufacture of a jewel, processing flow by different operators should be recorded for quality guaranteeing, and in its trading stage, the ownership handover should be recorded for value confirmation. To tackle above two requirements, two chains are usually thus demanded. In this paper, we propose a single chain solution to avoid cross-chain burden, by a hybrid block structure. The process data can be imported from the legacy (non-anonymous) information processing system, and transaction data stems from anonymous payment demand for ownership handover. We formally describe and prove token handover model with cryptographical authenticity. We also propose several security enhancements in the design for shortening the length of the chain, and protecting the data confidentiality in the chain. Our design is general and not limited to single application. The experimental results and extensive analysis justified that the performance and security of our proposed scheme is efficient. © 2024 IEEE.
