Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology is a research hotspot worldwide owing to global climate change and warm gas control. CCUS papers from the last twenty years, derived from the Web of Science database, were analyzed to investigate the impact and citation of academic papers using machine learning methods. Firstly, nine author characteristics, keywords, and three other categories were extracted from the literature. Then, the natural logarithm distribution of the annual average number of citations was obtained, and five evaluation grades were decided based on the citations. Next, the keyword evolution of papers in the CCUS field is analyzed, and a model on the keyword evolution trend index is proposed. Data integration and imbalance processing were conducted after random sampling. A citation prediction model was proposed to evaluate the quality of CCUS academic papers and was verified on the recent five years' CCUS papers by comparing it with nine other mainstream machine learning models. The results indicate that the random forest model exhibits the best performance, with an accuracy rate reaching 88.7%;an ablation experiment was also conducted using the same algorithm. The results prove the effectiveness of our proposed method, shedding light on the quality of academic papers and technology development in CCUS. © 2022 IEEE.

A Transfer Learning Model for Gesture Recognition Based on the Deep Features Extracted by CNN

The surface electromyogram (sEMG) based hand gesture recognition is prevalent in human-computer interface systems. However, the generalization of the recognition model does not perform well on cross-subject and cross-day. Transfer learning, which applies the pretrained model to another task, has demonstrated its effectiveness in solving this kind of problem. In this regard, this article first proposes a multiscale kernel convolutional neural network (MKCNN) model to extract and fuse multiscale features of the multichannel sEMG signals. Based on the proposed MKCNN model, a transfer learning model named TL-MKCNN combines the MKCNN and its Siamese network by a custom distribution normalization module (DNM) and a distribution alignment module (DAM) to realize domain adaptation. The DNM can cluster the deep features extracted from different domains to their category center points embedded in the feature space, and the DAM further aligns the overall distribution of the deep features from different domains. The MKCNN model and the TL-MKCNN model are tested on various benchmark databases to verify the effectiveness of the transfer learning framework. The experimental results show that, on the benchmark database NinaPro DB6, the average accuracies of TL-MKCNN can achieve 97.22% on within-session, 74.48% on cross-subject, and 90.30% on cross-day, which are 4.31%, 11.58%, and 5.51% higher than those of the MKCNN model on within-session, cross-subject, and cross-day, respectively. Compared with the state-of-the-art works, the TL-MKCNN obtains 13.38% and 37.88% accuracy improvement on cross-subject and cross-day, respectively. The HCI system is widely implemented in the robotics field because it can fill the gap between human intentions and robotic control, and a more robust generalization HCI system can make the interaction between humans and robots more convenient

The power grid is a kind of national critical infrastructure directly affiliated to human daily life. Because of the vital functions and potentially significant losses, the power grid becomes an excellent target for many malicious attacks. Due to the special nonlinear measurements, many detection methods do not match the grid very well. The extended Kalman filter based detection is one of the few methods suitable for nonlinear system detection, and therefore can be used in power system to spot malicious attacks. However, the reliability and effectiveness of the extended Kalman filter based detection have not been fully studied and adequately guaranteed. By proposing a two-step false data injection attack strategy, this paper gives a stealthy way to inject false data of increasing magnitude into the power grid, which can eventually cause a certain degree of deviation of the grid state without being detected. In the simulation, the method proposed in this paper caused a voltage deviation of more than 25% before being discovered in the power system. © 2021 IEEE.

Motion is one of the basic physiological functions of human beings. However, many brain diseases such as stroke may cause different degrees of motor dysfunctions for patients. As a commonly used rehabilitation method, active and passive exercise training may enhance patients' neuromuscular functions and recover their motor abilities. It is known that limb movements are strongly coupled with brain activation but there is currently insufficient exploration on the coupling behaviors from the perspective of informatics. In this study, the coupling relationship between limb movements and brain activation was preliminarily studied based on three healthy subjects. Electroencephalogram (EEG) and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) signals were synchronously collected during lower limb movements, and time-frequency analysis (TFA) and transfer entropy (TE) analysis were performed to quantitatively study the brain activation behaviors. In the experiments, a desynchronization phenomenon of μ rhythm in EEG was observed during exercise states, and the experimental results demonstrate the activation rule of motor and prefrontal cortexes upon limb movements. Calculations show that there exists a bidirectional flow of information between EEG and cerebral oxygen metabolism signals, but with a difference between different directions. This work may support the rehabilitation for patients with motor dysfunctions with a guidance of quantitative indicators and also benefit the exploration on neuroscience. © 2023 IEEE.

Climate change is one of the biggest health threats of the 21st *** China is the biggest developing country,with a large population and different climate types,its projections of large-scale heat-related excess mortality remain *** particular,the effects of climate change on aging populations have not been well studied,and may result in significantly underestimation of heat *** this study,we took four climate change scenarios of Tier-1 in CMIP6,which were combinations of Shared Socioeconomic Pathways(SSPs)and Representative Concentration Pathways(RCPs).We used the exposure-response functions derived from previous studies combined with baseline age-specific non-accidental mortality rates to project heat-related excess ***,we employed the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index(LMDI)method to decompose the impacts of climate change,population growth,and aging on heat-related excess ***,we multiplied the heat-related Years of Life Lost(YLL)with the Value of a Statistical Life Year(VSLY)to quantify the economic burden of premature *** found that the heat-related excess mortality would be concentrated in central China and in the densely populated south-eastern coastal *** aging is considered,heat-related excess mortality will become 2.8–6.7 times than that without considering aging in 2081–2100 under different *** contribution analysis showed that the effect of aging on heat-related deaths would be much higher than that of climate *** findings highlighted that aging would lead to a severe increase of heat-related deaths and suggesting that regional-specific policies should be formulated in response to heat-related risks.

A novel fault-tolerant tracking control (FTTC) approach for affine nonlinear systems is developed from the perspective of zero-sum differential games (ZSDG) to deal with unknown multiplicative actuator failures in this paper. By regarding the control input and the multiplicative actuator failure as two players of a zero-sum game, a performance index function reflecting the trajectory tracking error, the control policy and the unknown failure is established. To handle the tracking Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs (HJI) equation associated with the established performance index function, a critic neural network is utilized. Then, the Nash equilibrium solution can be obtained, and the FTTC is achieved. The stability of the faulty nonlinear system is examined through Lyapunov-based approach. Finally, simulation results of a spring system is provided to ensure the utility and the realizability of the ZSDG-based FTTC approach. © 2022 IEEE.

Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disease common in middle-aged and elderly people, and bradykinesia is one of the most obvious symptoms. In this study, A deep learning-based Parkinson's bradykinesia recognition system is designed which has an inertial sensor-based data acquisition system. It can wirelessly collect bradykinesia kinematic information by wearing it on the wrist and ankle of Parkinson's patients. In addition, a method for identifying the symptom of Parkinson's bradykinesia based on Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) Network is proposed, with an accuracy of 98.6%. It provides a feasible method to identify Parkinson bradykinesia to assist the diagnosis and treatment. © 2022 IEEE.

Due to the prediction errors and diverse driving styles of surrounding vehicles, traffic congestion and even accidents can occur in the traffic bottleneck area where vehicles merge into the main road. To ensure that connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) can quickly and efficiently merge into the main road, this paper proposes a cooperative trajectory planning method based on optimal control for vehicle cut-in scenarios. A optimal control model is constructed, and a quintic polynomial is used to generate the initial solution of the optimal control problem to accelerate the solution process and improve the success rate. Finally, The obtained merging trajectory is then synchronized with the movement of vehicles on the main road to optimize their actions and ensure a safe merging process. Joint simulation with Robot Operating system (ROS) and RVIZ is utilized, and the results show that the proposed algorithm can quickly obtain cooperative results, the locally successful merging trajectory meets the requirements of smoothness and safety, and if the solution does not allow merging, the merging vehicle is instructed to terminate the execution.
