This paper propees the consistent extended Kalman flter(CEKF)for the maneuvering target tracking(MTT)with nonlinear uncertain dynamics,and applies it on hand poition *** general modlel of the MTT system i presented with unmodleled dynamics in terms of nonlinear unknown function of *** CEKF is propoeed to ensure that the bounds of the estimation error's covariance matrix are av ailable through the flter *** a result,the creponding accuracy of the flter approach can be achieved ***,a CEKF-baaed MTT algorithm is constructed via the tumning aw of the critical parameter matrix QE Finally,the efectiveness of CEKF i verified by MTT numerical simulations and hand tacking expeiments under dilferent ***,two indices are employed to compare the CEKF with extended Kalman filter(EKF):the mean square errors(MSEa)and the bounded percentage,ie the percentage of the rang w bere the estimation error is encboed by the bound calculated by *** MSEs of CEKF are smaller than thoee of EKF,where the worst MSEa of CEKF and EKF are0.14 and 418 in the simulation,a8 well 80.11 and 059 in the expeiments,respectively;all bounded percentages of CEKF are larger than thoee of EKF,where the wonst average bounded percentages of CEKF and EKF ame 87.86%and 14.58%,8 well as 97.41%and 41.79%in the experiments,reapectively.

The development of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and metaverse technologies hold great potential to enhance the effectiveness of smart cities and societies. we present a cyberphysical-social approach to integrating AGI into metaverse-based smart cities and societies, with a specific focus on parallel intelligence. The proposed approach considers the interplay between the physical environment, digital systems, social dynamics, and emerging forms of parallel intelligence, as well as swarm intelligence and collective intelligence. By leveraging these forms of parallel intelligence, the integration of AGI can create more responsive and proactive infrastructure, personalized and efficient services, and foster greater community engagement. The metaverse acts as a platform for simulating real-world scenarios and testing and refining AGI models before deployment in the physical world, while also facilitating the development and coordination of parallel intelligence. However, ethical considerations must be taken into account to ensure responsible deployment and avoid exacerbating existing societal inequalities or infringing upon individual privacy rights. This report provides a comprehensive framework for the integration of AGI and parallel intelligence into metaverse-based digital and smart organizations, while emphasizing the importance of human ethics, social responsibility, and ecological sustainability.

Crowdsourcing is a critical technology in social manufacturing, which leverages an extensive and boundless reservoir of human resources to handle a wide array of complex tasks. The successful execution of these complex tasks relies on task decomposition (TD) and allocation, with the former being a prerequisite for the latter. Recently, pre-trained language models (PLMs)based methods have garnered significant attention. However, they are constrained to handling straightforward common-sense tasks due to their inherent restrictions involving limited and difficult-to-update knowledge as well as the presence of "hallucinations". To address these issues, we propose a retrieval-augmented generation-based crowdsourcing framework that reimagines TD as event detection from the perspective of natural language understanding. However, the existing detection methods fail to distinguish differences between event types and always depend on heuristic rules and external semantic analyzing tools. Therefore, we present a Prompt-Based Contrastive learning framework for TD (PBCT), which incorporates a prompt-based trigger detector to overcome dependence. Additionally, trigger-attentive sentinel and masked contrastive learning are introduced to provide varying attention to trigger and contextual features according to different event types. Experiment results demonstrate the competitiveness of our method in both supervised and zero-shot detection. A case study on printed circuit board manufacturing is showcased to validate its adaptability to unknown professional domains. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

SWDPM: A Social Welfare-Optimized Data Pricing Mechanism

Data trading has been hindered by privacy concerns associated with user-owned data and the infinite reproducibility of data, making it challenging for data owners to retain exclusive rights over their data once it has been disclosed. Traditional data pricing models relied on uniform pricing or subscription-based models. However, with the development of Privacy-Preserving Computing techniques, the market can now protect the privacy and complete transactions using progressively disclosed information, which creates a technical foundation for generating greater social welfare through data usage. In this study, we propose a novel approach to modeling multi-round data trading with progressively disclosed information using a matchmaking-based Markov Decision Process (MDP) and introduce a Social Welfare-optimized Data Pricing Mechanism (SWDPM) to find optimal pricing strategies. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to model multi-round data trading with progressively disclosed information. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the SWDPM can increase social welfare 3 times by up to 54% in trading feasibility, 43% in trading efficiency, and 25% in trading fairness by encouraging better matching of demand and price negotiation among traders. Crowd counting has important applications in public safety and pandemic control.A robust and practical crowd counting system has to be capable of continuously learning with the newly incoming domain data in real-world scenarios instead of fitting one domain ***-the-shelf methods have some drawbacks when handling multiple domains:(1)the models will achieve limited performance(even drop dramatically)among old domains after training images from new domains due to the discrepancies in intrinsic data distributions from various domains,which is called catastrophic forgetting;(2)the well-trained model in a specific domain achieves imperfect performance among other unseen domains because of domain shift;(3)it leads to linearly increasing storage overhead,either mixing all the data for training or simply training dozens of separate models for different domains when new ones are *** overcome these issues,we investigate a new crowd counting task in incremental domain training setting called lifelong crowd *** goal is to alleviate catastrophic forgetting and improve the generalization ability using a single model updated by the incremental ***,we propose a self-distillation learning framework as a benchmark(forget less,count better,or FLCB)for lifelong crowd counting,which helps the model leverage previous meaningful knowledge in a sustainable manner for better crowd counting to mitigate the forgetting when new data arrive.A new quantitative metric,normalized Backward Transfer(nBwT),is developed to evaluate the forgetting degree of the model in the lifelong learning *** experimental results demonstrate the superiority of our proposed benchmark in achieving a low catastrophic forgetting degree and strong generalization ability.

Automatically recognizing surgical gestures plays a key role in computer-assisted surgery and automatic skill assessment. Solutions to this task that only rely on video without additional sensor hardware have attracted great attention since they are economical and feasible. However, it is still a challenging problem due to the variable gesture durations and the oversegmentation problem that occurred in a long gesture duration. To address the above problems, we propose a cascade network with boundary-adaptive filter to dynamically capture the long-range temporal dependencies and reduce the over-segmentation errors obviously. A cascade module is designed to enhance the temporal modeling abilities in different timescales, in which multiple similar temporal convolution networks are divided into cascade stages and a fusion stage. Every cascade stage with different temporal receptive fields has a frame-specific weight to adjust the distribution of each stage and they will be aggregated into the fusion stage to refine the predictions. The frame-specific model architecture may incur a more serious over-segmentation problem. A boundary-adaptive filter is designed to leverage gesture boundary information to smooth the prediction results adaptively, which maintains consistency within a gesture duration while keeping the gesture-crossing discrepancy. We evaluate our model on the JHU-ISI Gesture and Skill Assessment Working Set (JIGSAWS). The proposed method reaches the state-of-the-art frame-wise accuracy (83.79%) and comparable segment-level performance (83.35% F1@50). © 2021 IEEE.

Hand paralysis caused by stroke, spinal cord injury, or neurological trauma has a significant impact on the independence and quality of life of the patients. The hand exoskeleton can provide hand assistance and improve the patient's grasp. In this article, a novel wearable flexible hand exoskeleton is proposed to assist users in activities of daily life. To create a simple and lightweight assistive hand exoskeleton, 3D printing is used to manufacture most of the components, and a remote drive system is designed to reduce the weight of the hand exoskeleton. A ball pair device and a slider device are used to ensure the freedom of the thumb and the adaptability of the hand exoskeleton to different hand sizes. Finally, the experiments are conducted to verify that the hand exoskeleton can achieve motion assistance. © 2022 IEEE.

Navigation of autonomous robots in unknown and cluttered environments lies among the marked trends in robotics. Unlike animals and humans, the collision-free movement of a robot is challenging and requires processing complex information. An autonomous robot needs to cope with a large amount of uncertainty while navigating. The previous methods have limitations, such as lacking obstacle avoidance behaviour, having a large number of governing rules, designing a separate controller for each navigation and obstacle avoidance, not considering the robot's dynamics, computationally expensive training, and poor performance in a cluttered environment. This paper proposes a method that comprises a single adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) based controller with 16 rules compared to hundred of rules used by previous methods to address such problems. Our method takes heading angle along with distance sensors data as input. AU the inputs are fuzzified into linguistic variables such as near-far and left-right. Additionally, a fuzzy inference system (FIS) is designed and trained using the generated dataset for optimum performance of ANFIS. The proposed method efficiently provides collision-free navigation of the mobile robot in densely cluttered environments. Comprehensive experiments are performed to prove the robustness and potency of the proposed ANFIS controller. Moreover, the performance of the proposed method is compared with various previous methods. The results of these comparisons indicate our proposed method's superiority in finding a near-optimal path. © 2022 IEEE.

The deep learning methods trained with large-scale manually annotated datasets have led to significant breakthroughs in medical image community. However, obtaining such datasets remains a challenging work in medical domain. In this paper, we propose an ACP-based approach named parallel medical imaging (PMI) for analyzing and addressing the small sample problem of medical image recognition. Firstly, we present the basic framework and key techniques of PMI, in which the Artificial imaging systems are constructed to effectively augment the 'medical small sample', the Computational experiments are carried out for designing and evaluating the visual models trained with small samples, and the Parallel execution is conducted to achieve closed-loop interaction and optimization in the domain-knowledge guidance. Furthermore, we illustrate a preliminary implementation and application of PMI approach through the case study of mammogram analysis. © 2021 IEEE.
